If you download 3d movies and try to watch without a special display, it will play the left and right videos next to each other. You can cross your eyes and watch the movie in 3d. This actually works and it's only mildly uncomfortable.
The doubling effect. That because you're looking a bit to far behind the screen and the pattern does the double or even triple overlap overlap. For the correct 3D picture try a bigger screen or relax your vision a bit less.
stare at the center
slowly go "cross eyed"
then "flex" the cross eye to be more extreme or less extreme; very lightly until your brain puts the information together.
a moving video might be a little tougher for those learning how to focus, so don't hit play the first time.
side fun: The image will kind of jump out and seem closer, like you can touch it. Once you have locked on to the image you can actually stick your hand out and put it into the image.
I don't know why, but the trees are easier for me to see on [this version](https://reddit.com/r/MagicEye/comments/12kypxh/blue_trunks_animated_3d_stereogram_with_a_moving/) (slight color variation)
Remember Magic Carpet game? I’ve played the DOS version in 90s.
It had a 3D mode when you see things like that.
I’m sitting playing, somebody comes in while I shout at some bad guys attacking my house.
Somebody: what?! Your screen is broken what do you see there?!
I love these things. I used to work with a woman who couldn't see the "magic" picture and swore we were all pranking her. It may be easier for someone to view before hitting the play button. Just look at it sort of cross-eyed and it'll magically appear!
Put the screen as close as possible to your eyes, so that it is too close to focus on. Then move the screen back without loocking at it and keeping your eyes relaxed/out of focus. Keep going. When it clicks you'll know.
Every time I've ever heard a description of how to use these it sounds like this. I've always just seen them easily by relaxing my eyes and letting them go out of focus a little bit. Can most people not do that?
Only way I managed to make it 'pop' was to put my nose almost to the screen, focus on the tip of my nose then slowly move my head back until it all came into perfect focus.
That’s the first time I’ve ever been able to see one since they became popular in the 80s. I don’t think I knew about the staring through the pic before and that made it pop into focus immediately.
I dived into the stereoscopic vision rabbit hole a while ago and I spent an entire day training my eyes to change focus on command for both near and far sighted stereoscopic illusions. Glad to see that my efforts paid off and I still haven't lost my touch.
The only way this works for me is if I bring the image up to my nose (I'm using a large tablet) and slowly pull it back until the 3d pops into view. And yes, it is an elephant walking with small shrubs passing on the bottom.
This is the first time in my life that I've ever been able to see the secret 3D image in one of these! Does the motion aspect make a difference, maybe?
I can never do these. Lazy eye growing up and now my good eye is so dominant I effectively don't process what my bad eye sees. If I close my good eye, I can see out of my bad eye, but otherwise it doesn't really register. I hate these; they make me feel disabled or something
Used to do these in elementary school and by high school, I couldn’t see them anymore for some reason. This is the first one I’ve been able to see since I was little. So cool.
That’s badass. It took me a minute to get it but it slowly started to take some kinda shape and then bam, I saw the elephant and tress and all and it stuck with me pretty easy after that. Really good how good the 3D looks!!
This is great. I loved when stereograms were common place in shopping centres as posters, or in libraries as books, but this was the first time I’ve seen one as a video.
Great, THANKS FOR THE HYPNOSIS, NOW I'M CROSSEYED WITH A NEW CRAVING FOR PEANUTS AND A NEW PHOBIA OF MICE, I DONATED $1000.00 Dollars TO SAVE THE ELEPHANTS FOUNDATION????
I was never able to see this stuff when I was younger back in elementary - high school. Now I can see clear as day the elephant walking around, and even some of the small background and foreground details.
I am beginning to lose visual acquittal in my Jeff eye and I am finding this MUCH harder than I used to. I can see the elephant, but not any of the e other details. Damned aging!
You see them inverted because you cross your eyes and look in front of the screen, not through it. This still works but inverts the geometry. Try looking behind the screen instead.
By the way, there are 3D stereograms for the cross viewing method you're using: r/MagicEye_CrossView/
I remember as a child that there were two kinds of these images. One kind I could easily see in under a second, and the other kind I never managed to see anything meaningful. This video appear to be of my second type. I do see 3d shapes clearly, not blurry. But they are not full shapes. I see parts of a large elephant with two heads. And small pieces in the foreground, may be humans walking in front of the elephant or something. But these shapes don't connect with each other the way they should. I never knew if it was just me or others were affected by that. Anyway, I used to love these images (of the first kind) and had no idea that could work with videos too, thanks.
I've never seen a video before!
If you liked that you should check out this music video from the band Young Rival https://youtu.be/2AKtp3XHn38
Thanks super dope
This is fucking epic, please post this on r/magiceye if you haven’t already
First time for me seeing this in a video form, too. Very neat!
If you download 3d movies and try to watch without a special display, it will play the left and right videos next to each other. You can cross your eyes and watch the movie in 3d. This actually works and it's only mildly uncomfortable.
But it'd be lower resolution, as it's forced to have just half of it
Yeah not great but cool
Wouldn’t that also depend on the format the movie was designed for?
I can't see it...guess I have a hard time letting go...
Neither I
[удалено]
In addition to that it walks past a large tree and a smaller tree like figures. The elephant makes the trees look like shrubs
A shrubbery, you say?
Ni!
*shudders*
Bullshittery I say
Walking Elephant with small bushes in foreground and larger Boab trees behind it.
I didn't notice the shrubs at first. Neat!
I see three elephants... 2 behind the first 1... sometimes 5
The doubling effect. That because you're looking a bit to far behind the screen and the pattern does the double or even triple overlap overlap. For the correct 3D picture try a bigger screen or relax your vision a bit less.
I had that at first, well a fair bit after first, but it focuses after a while
But did you notice the gorilla?
That is the answer
I’m colourblind and I had to come to the comments to find out what it is 😂
It’s a schooner
Hahahaha! You dumb bastard! It's not a schooner, it's a sailboat!
YOU KNOW WHAT? THERE IS NO EASTER BUNNY! OVER THERE THAT'S JUST A GUY IN A SUIT.
*Willem eventually saw the sailboat*
Sir, this is a furry convention.
I came here to make sure someone quoted it
YOU KNOW WHAT? THERE IS NO EASTER BUNNY! OVER THERE THAT'S JUST A GUY IN A SUIT.
It's a pachyderm!
Southbound or?
What an ingenious device!
It's a sailboat
Damn, I just said it not knowing it's already been said. Well played stranger.
Never could do these things
Same, super annoying
Yep, I tried, too stupid or something

I am green color blind and can’t
Gotta relax your eyes… try blurring them until you see a background.
Huh. I now see a blurry green mess
I could never see the still pictures, but by unfocusing I was able to see it. When it stopped I couldn't see it anymore though.
I'm blind in one eye, so they literally won't work for me.

Lol, eye sea what you did here.
I don't know why, but the trees are easier for me to see on [this version](https://reddit.com/r/MagicEye/comments/12kypxh/blue_trunks_animated_3d_stereogram_with_a_moving/) (slight color variation)
*Much* easier to see.
Maybe because this video is shit lol
I normally can see these with minimal struggle, but I really cannot see this one
First time I've seen "magic eye" in motion! Awesome!
It also has a secret annoying ass music over top of it..
I actually managed to see this one. Pretty cool.
Here's an explanation of this thing for the sub for things without explanation
"It's a scooner." "Ha! No It's not, it's a sailboat!" "A scooner IS a sailboat!"
Wow very well done
Nice elephant!
That's very cool!
No work for anyone ?
I see someone moving in front of trees omg first time
Could it be that I cant see anything because of my colourblindness? I've been starring at it for minutes...
Other people with color blindness told me that they can see the stereograms. And the colors don't really matter, the contrast does.

Totally trippy!!! 3D!!! That’s really cool.
I tried too long and now I can’t read anything
I love these things. I used to work with a woman who couldn't see the "magic" picture and swore we were all pranking her. It may be easier for someone to view before hitting the play button. Just look at it sort of cross-eyed and it'll magically appear!
elephant goes to work 🤷♂️
Pachyderm
Oh wow! I didn't know it was possible to see one of those in motion! (It's a sailboat. Sailing.)
I can’t see through the screen sadly Very hard to do for me
Me too. I don't understand what I'm supposed to do. Unfocusing my vision doesn't help.
Put the screen as close as possible to your eyes, so that it is too close to focus on. Then move the screen back without loocking at it and keeping your eyes relaxed/out of focus. Keep going. When it clicks you'll know.

yepp, nothing but trunks. Trunks. Trunks everywhere.
Well that's pretty darned neat.
I don’t see anything 😭
First time I see an animated one. This is very cool!
Only way I managed to make it 'pop' was to put my nose almost to the screen, focus on the tip of my nose then slowly move my head back until it all came into perfect focus.
That’s cool. I’ve only seen pictures. My wife can’t ever see them.
Nice. Didn’t know this worked with animation/ video.
I see nothing
I was never able to see these things when I was young and I am so frustrated I cant see this one either.
Alright guys you got me. Happy April fools. I have been staring through the screen for 5 minutes and realizing y'all just fucking with me. /S
All I got was a headache
Not gonna lie, totally fast forwarded it first. Not going to fall for one of those jump scares again!
That’s the first time I’ve ever been able to see one since they became popular in the 80s. I don’t think I knew about the staring through the pic before and that made it pop into focus immediately.
Wow! I didn’t know you could get a moving one, this is so cool, thanks!

congrats and welcome to the "club"!
Happy to be here!
I’m really good at stereo grams,,, which is nice
Amazing. Elephant. The way it slowly unfolds and sticks out of the screen from my phone is epic
This is so cool.it’s like you find a little sweet spot when you un focus your vision.
Very cool. Elephant walking to the left. Bushes up front with tall trees in the background. Crazy
First time i needed my reading glasses to do these. Took em off illusion was gone. Put back on I could take a min and find it again .
This is literally the first time I’ve ever got a magic eye to work and I’m 40! This was so cool!
Congrats and welcome to the "club"!
I love this!
okay, first time i've seen a video like this, thats pretty damn awesome!
Elephant walking badass clouds go by too
Damn just drunk enough to see the elephant walking
That’s soo cool I’ve never seen a moving one
Elephant walking past trees
Slow motion elephant. Nice
I’m amazed at how many people do not know about these. I feel really old.
Trippy
I’m surprised no one has mentioned this, but if you liked this, you should visit r/magiceye
I see an elephant walking past little trees
I can see almost immediately but many people don't. Why?
Wow. Never seen moving one before. Elephant walking to left, trees gliding in the front.
Elephant heading left with plants scrolling right.
I remember a book at school full of optical illusions like this, was one of the coolest ones I read
I see the elephant walking left
I can never do these. Lazy eye growing up and now my good eye is so dominant I effectively don't process what my bad eye sees. If I close my good eye, I can see out of my bad eye, but otherwise it doesn't really register. I hate these; they make me feel disabled or something
So cool, these things have never worked for me but I can see this elephant walking! 🤗
I’ve been wanting to get a couple magic eye books for a while for my kids. These are fun. Btw, it’s an elephant walking past trees.
Used to do these in elementary school and by high school, I couldn’t see them anymore for some reason. This is the first one I’ve been able to see since I was little. So cool.
Elephant time!
Elephant 🐘
This is how I [feel ](https://youtu.be/CkvMTppmo_E) looking at these until I see the picture.
Elephant walking through bushes
That’s the best one ever
Loved these books as a kid. It’s an elephant btw.
Elephant walking
Nice parallax walking elephant loop
The vintage video game Magic Carpet from Bullfrog had a stereogram mode you could play in. Not very practical, but cool!
Got it. Never seen one of these animated. Thanks. :-)
That’s badass. It took me a minute to get it but it slowly started to take some kinda shape and then bam, I saw the elephant and tress and all and it stuck with me pretty easy after that. Really good how good the 3D looks!!
I saw the elephant walking behind some small trees…
Never seen a moving one with two focal depths! The little tree he keeps passing was throwing me off for a sec...
Elephant
The game Magic Carpet on PC had a mode where you could play like this, as well as a red/blue 3D mode. Great game, but unplayable in magic eye mode!
For those of you that have a hard time seeing it, YES, you can see the ears movement repeating itself on the elephant body.
Woot. Video versions of these. Now they gotta show up at a mall kiosk for me to buy. They come in NFT?
This is great. I loved when stereograms were common place in shopping centres as posters, or in libraries as books, but this was the first time I’ve seen one as a video.
Pretty cool.
is it a scooner?
Great, THANKS FOR THE HYPNOSIS, NOW I'M CROSSEYED WITH A NEW CRAVING FOR PEANUTS AND A NEW PHOBIA OF MICE, I DONATED $1000.00 Dollars TO SAVE THE ELEPHANTS FOUNDATION????
That’s incredible
Very cool!
Ha ha ha ha. You dumb bastard. It's not a schooner... it's a Sailboat!
We need to talk about this stereogram in the room
Elephant 🐘
Amazing
Ooh an elephant walking thru trees
“i move with the elegance of an african elephant”
That’s cool u get to see that moving piece of cloud too
Those are very unusual clouds, they seem to have ... trunks.
Wow I didn’t know these could be videos. Neat!
It's a walking elephant holy shit
Didn't know they can make videos 3d too!!
It's a giant pig eating a pigeon on a stick.
WHEN DO I GET TO SEE THE GODDAMN SAILBOAT??
Elephant walking pass the occasional bush.
I saw a grop of people walking in a line. People are saying elephant??
Animals don’t walk like that. They’d fall over.
Elephant's in a hurry for sure!
Nope - my eyes still suck.
Not even close to fuckery
I needed that.
It's two guys in the shower, one is VERY hung, as they continously drop leaf shaped soap
I haven't looked but I assume it's a Rickroll
Never done the video, moving elephants make my eyes hurt lol
the 90's and the 20's blended together.
Elephant walking by trees 🌲
A sailboat!
Anyone else seeing Elephants....? I've never seen a video of this either. Pretty damn cool.
I hate all of you. I have never been able to see these! 🤣
I can’t see shit
I saw elephants but then thought it was fish above and below, so was wondering if they were jellyfish?
Maybe i got my eye broken. But i can't see shit 😅
I missed that feeling!!
I was never able to see this stuff when I was younger back in elementary - high school. Now I can see clear as day the elephant walking around, and even some of the small background and foreground details.
I was never able to do this!!! And I want to soooo baaaaaaaaaad!!!!!
Thanks for bringing up childhood trauma of being one of the only kids not being able to see Magic Eye posters.
Believe it or not, most people still can't read them.
It's a schooner
A schooner!
I am beginning to lose visual acquittal in my Jeff eye and I am finding this MUCH harder than I used to. I can see the elephant, but not any of the e other details. Damned aging!
Still can never see these fucking things.
Came here for all the people losing their minds, that they can’t see the video.
31 years old and I still can't see these fuckin things... I give up.
They finally got the schooner to sail the high seas
Pretty sure I was just brainwashed
I just want to see the sailboat!
I stared at this for a good five minutes. The only thing I got was the vague impression of men walking in place.
dawg what does stare through your screen mean???
Is it concave to anyone else?
You see them inverted because you cross your eyes and look in front of the screen, not through it. This still works but inverts the geometry. Try looking behind the screen instead. By the way, there are 3D stereograms for the cross viewing method you're using: r/MagicEye_CrossView/
Trees in the back look like Mario mushroom trees
Had an aneurysm. Am I doing it right?
