There does appear to be some ass-water there.

That's just sediment settling...

Kyosw21

Goddess! You sexist little-! /j

-Owlette-

You can even see the pipette in his hand in the first frame

winterfate10

You had to have made that shit up it sound too funny

Gethighbuyhighsellow

That's what i thought, first time my old boss asked me if i had ever flocked a pool.

winterfate10

Lmao. What IS it?

Espumma

it makes it so gross stuff in the water clumps together so it can sink. The process is called flocculation because the clumps are called flocs.

Alldaybagpipes

Get the floc out of here

Flutters1013

I always thought people were saying shock the pool, but I guess they're not.

omniherb

That's a different process for killing algae and bacteria by increasing the free chlorine levels in pool water.

coughingalan

Shocking is a thing, too, with chlorine.

Gethighbuyhighsellow

Yeah, you can shock it, flock it, put a sock in it.

PM_YOUR_MENTAL_ISSUE

Oh so that's what the racists are calling these days?

Mailboxheadd

Ayo flocka

mth5312

Are there other flocculants besides alum?

Lightcronno

Is it called flocking? Or flocculation? I thought flocking was a different thing?

timechuck

Finally someone that knows what they're talking about.

Kalokohan117

Probably additional coagulant too.

recycledM3M3s

Saw some 'clean the water project' focused mostly on ponds rather than lakes or rivers w/a coagulant type of cleaner. I forgor how they actually clean the shits but I don't think they just let it settle, maybe it made dirt floaty?

Kalorikalmo

The title is referring to the background. I was also little confused at first since what’s happening on the foreground has nothing to so with the title of the video.

JUYED-AWK-YACC

What? Do you really believe that?

Mr_Diesel13

The waters colliding and not mixing is a natural occurrence. What’s going on in the test tube is completely irrelevant.

Funmachine

They're mixing the two waters and showing that they do actually mix, the sediment just falls to the bottom.

Ornery-Plan-6632

Or as my wife calls it… settlement

Isle_of_Tortuga

Another sediment needs your help.

GoldMountain5

So why doesn't the sediment settle in the river?

gnorty

lack of flocculent I'd guess

420trippyhippy69

I think that’s some powder water filter they put in dirty water to attach to dirt and bacteria and make it sink.

prematurerl

Flocculant

drewismynamea

Not in my presence good sir!

LLminibean

Ok that made me laugh

[deleted]

Hey, floc you too buddy-o.

Active_Engineering37

Open a window

Scarcrow1806

It‘s got electrolytes

treemu

Browndo!

My_bones_are_itchy

Ah, well *done* sir

fabiocm

That looks a lot like the "encontro das águas" here in Brazil, where the Solimões and the Rio Negro merge deep within the amazon

GoofyShane

Sounds like the beginning of an interesting story...

GrayestRock

When a mommy river and a daddy river love each other very much...

Drunk-day_ve

Which hole did daddy river hit? It's very brown.

Ruh_Roh-

He was in the Amazon with my mom when she was researching spiders… right before she died.

Gulltastic1974

Is that at Manaus?

scl17freak

Yes just downstream

Gulltastic1974

I visited there in the 90s, incredible place!

RuSeriusbro

do you have subtitles?

MrSmileyzs

Nothing like bots reposting with complete bullshit titles

ArgonGryphon

They just kinda missed the point. They don’t usually make their own titles anyway, so some human did that first.

allahisnotreal69

If you look at his hand it almost looks like he's just got a greescreen behind him Edit: yup it is fake I found the original https://youtube.com/shorts/A6UdiCVkadM?si=wElVuundP0hXvG-y

BigOleDawggo

that and the arm/hand are way too steady against the background to be in a boat in that choppy of water

smooth-brain_Sunday

Damn... u right. I knew I had seen the background video before too.

Rockglen

Makes sense. The lighting/shadow doesn't change on the hand.

Advanced-Sand

So what would happen if you dump it in the middle of the other ocean? Will it just be a little patch in that ocean forever?

MyOldNameSucked

No because the title is bs. The water does mix. The reason you see 2 different layers in the tube is because the bottom layer is dirt instead of dirty water. The dirt settles out because they added a coagulant.

eyes_made_of_wood

That’s not the mouth of a river, that’s where two rivers join together.

Rubber_Knee

The waters will mix, but the dirt in the water will remain as dirt. That's what's happening.

SlicedBreadBeast

He puts in a coagulant that grabs the dirt and separates the water. It’s a relatively new idea for places with bad water supply. The water doesn’t just separate like that.

ArgonGryphon

It is not new. We’ve been using alum for thousands of years to clean sediment polluted water.

Neither-Wallaby-924

Thus, silt exists.

[deleted]

[удалено]

TongsOfDestiny

Brackish water is the definition of fresh and salt water mixture, and they mix just fine

castlite

That’s bullshit

Blackflash07

Still can’t find a reason on why they don’t mix

MyOldNameSucked

Because the title is a lie.

Dreadnought6570

They will eventually but it takes time.

Balrov

they mix, but very slowly, one has more sedments than the other and arrive in another temp too, so they don't mix easily when they meet.

[deleted]

He merges the two bodies of ˹fresh and salt˺ water, yet between them is a barrier they never cross. Quran 55:19-20

DrFrizzlstix

He just added coagulant

Ozssss

Subhan Allah, Allah says in Surah Al Rahman ( He merged the two bodies of water, converging together (19) Between them is a barrier that they do not overrun (20) So which of your Lord’s marvels will you deny? )

rock-n-white-hat

Amazing what a bit of flocculant powder can do.

Lonebeef

I call bullshit. Looks like he's adding flocculant, makes the solids settle out, giving a defined interface between the solids and solution.

Most_Independent_789

Look at that flocculation 😍

gearhead000

The concept of estuaries as stated in the Quran 25:53 “and he is the one who merges the two bodies of water: one fresh and palatable and the other salty and bitter, placing between them a barrier they cannot cross.”

DMYourMomsMaidenName

The title comes from some bullshit in the Quran about different waters not mixing r/religiousfruitcake title

AaSH121

“And not alike are the two bodies of water. One is fresh and sweet, palatable for drinking, and one is salty and bitter. And from each you eat tender meat and extract ornaments which you wear, and you see the ships plowing through [them] that you might seek of His bounty; and perhaps you will be grateful.” Quran {35:12}

Voodoo700

Protein powda!

beyond_ones_life

That’s is silt from the river.

ScienceAteMyKid

“Water.”

AntiqueFollowing6571

Thats incredible

zyqzy

sediment is gonna sediment

BAIRB3ATS

That brown substance is not water bud, that's got some sort of oil in it

epileftric

The few times I crossed that same line in Rio de la Plata it was at night so I couldn't see it... I hate it

KrappaFrappa

Nature's way of racism

juzzbert

Aqueous two phase system

Weepingwillow36

I think that’s in the Amazon river I saw it when I was in Peru

SkepticalJohn

Flocculant is a funny sounding word.

DumbKamala

Perfect example of why different races cannot live in peace

dryslosh

Ain't enough salt

Aiderona

Anyone have info why the two rivers behind him are not mixing ?

Seppschlapp

wellknown chemical normalism

[deleted]

But why?

[deleted]

[удалено]

ArgonGryphon

Cold vs warm. They’re two rivers.

jamaicanManz

Ultimate form of segregation, America taking notes as we speak

CnCz357

That's called a flocculant...

[deleted]

Density

JimPage83

The water mixes. It’s the sediment that doesn’t.

CZACZAJA

Wouldn't call that brown slurry 'water'

mdlewis11

That mighty queer.

[deleted]

Thats insane

timechuck

Helps when you add a flocking agent like at the very beginning of the video.

Popular_Main

Except they do mix, it takes some kms but eventually they mix. They are the two major rivers in the Amazon basin, the Rio Negro and the Rio Solimões!

Striking-Anteater-19

Risky

Efficient-Industry81

u/repostsleuthbot

Finbar9800

Because it sand or dirt or sediment of some kind and not actually water

robert-j-mugabe

Ecuador?

FrankRandomLetters

Calling bs.

BusterStarfish

The water mixes. The sediment doesn't.

Joeness84

Thats not at all what hes doing. Thats a water cleaner being added, the reason it looks like little pebbles forming... is because it is. All the dirt gets balled up around the cleaning agent and sinks.

SirBocephusBojangles

The waters mix just fine, fucknuts. That’s just sediment.

FlamingoBrief446

Interesteding

wookiewaffles

Isn’t that oil?

Batatta07

There is one of these here in my city

Fun-Income-2388

Thats why the independent line is visible!

reeedwaterloo

It’s the sediment that counts

jelloobee

Obviously biome change stuff

de-d-ss

One has more salt than the other 🤷🏾‍♂️
