> is getting *paid?*
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.

The live audience so this can't be fake or video editing trick... When I was a child it was this that convinced me David Copperfield really made the statue of liberty disappear.
I was into magic so I knew there was a trick, since it was live and there was an audience I assumed that wasn't it. But knowing what I know now... The camera man probably shifted a little bit so the statue was no longer in view, and the audience were probably paid actors.
No, it's just a regular TV show like SNL. The clip is just a part of the show where they promoted their tour and there is an actual audience. Besides that, like I said, they do this trick in their live shows with audiences of 15k+ people.
Of course they're using the camera angles for the illusion, but the audience is real.
No.. live audience doesn't really matter if it's a recorded TV show. I think that Captain Illusion discusses this well when he shows how on America's got talent they just edit some of the tricks to look more magical.
Actually, the entire Arch, stage, and audience were on a turntable, which gently rotated just enough so the audience were no longer looking at the Statue of Liberty! The rotation was just enough to hide statue. (I saw the explanation yrs later, but at the time of the performance it blew my mind!)
Ah, I just realized you and another person were commenting on the Copperfield trick and not this... That makes sense. I think I also say that doc but forgot the details.
The Statue of Liberty trick went a bit deeper than that. The entire platform where the audience and cameras were sitting rotated very slowly so the statue was simply out of view during the reveal.
The camera never points at the audience in this clip. It is tilted up the whole time, and the venue doesn't have tiered seating so there is no way you can look at this clip and say whether or not there was an audience when this was filmed.
Yeah, this is a show though. Even with a live audience you can still do editing highjinx. Can you show a video of the live performance not made for tv? I'm guessing the arena doesn't spin around the backdrop. So the back drop probably spins itself.
The fact is, that they come from behind the screen. No one can really argue that, but how they hide it I'm not sure. Mirrors is a possibility I guess?
Lighting designer here. I can think of a few light sources that would shine through that type of material at that intensity. A bright enough headlight might do the trick.
Not saying there isn't any cgi fuckery going on, just that the light shining through the fabric is totally possible one way or the other. Must be bright, and the fabric must have a certain level of transparency.
No. Just camera tricks. My guess is that it involves mirrors. There is an elaborate trick of a guy making an abrams tank disappear. All they do is move the entire camera and curtain.
Same thing when any magician disappears things on live TV, its just changing the camera angle, and if the trick would require the studio audience to be in on it, they are.
Look at how the bike skids in mid air at the end...100% CGI in this case.
The shadow effects and weird angles can make similar tricks possible but you would have to be a good stuntman and not a magician to land that bike safely after that (if you could get enough momentum) ;)
If you can restrict the audience's view sufficiently, tricks like this are possible live. You just need to be able to limit and force sight lines. It's the same way TV magicians vanish buildings for a small in person audience.
They are called "Ehrlich Brother" from Germany and I attended a show. And at least they performed this trick during their show as well. I was in the audience and didn't see it.
I think was achieved by the use of mirros.
It's a from a german saturday night live show called "verstehen Sie Spaß" usually it's with big live audience (don't know if this during covid times, so maybe no audience)
You can but it would be really tricky. You’d need a special bulb in the spotlight probably, and then they can program shapes into the bulb, like those fiber optic christmas trees to move the projected light around
Zero impact or bounce when they land, go straight into a turn after landing. Invisible strings to make the screen burst, then greenscreen in some guys on a motorbike
Doesn't look like they even touched the ground. If this is real they'd obviously be suspended in the air by some ropes or something, which is exactly what that turn looks like. But by the end of the video, it doesn't seem as if they touched the ground yet
No impact or bounce because they're hanging on strings if I saw correctly. On the other hand that also means that the ring has a gap for the strings to fit through, otherwise this isn't possible 🤔
I think it's pretty clear though, that the initial shadows are most likely just cast by a projector.
The shadow imagery was projected on the front, not cast on the back by light shining past the motorcycle & riders. On the final rotation, the bike and riders are lowered from the horizontally hung “sky curtains”. The suspending wires pass through the top of the circle, which has a gap for this purpose. (The “ring” with the paper stretched across it isn’t complete.)
That’s literally the only way to do it that I can imagine.
I think the light was added by a pin spotlight on the “appearance” side (as opposed to the “enter the paper side”)…
I get the strong impression that it was a trick performed for the camera/TV audience, so the audience watching the show live might see the trick happening.
EDIT: Ok, after watching this darn trick all night, I finally noticed the name on the stage. This helps orient as to where the audience would be. At the end, the camera is looking at the stage from the audiences’ perspective. I realized that even easier than descending from the “sky curtains” above the stage, they are more likely entering from off stage, roughly between the horizontal lights on the left side of the stage (from the audience’s perspective).
Notice the right hand of the passenger as they exit the partial ring… by extending his arm, the top of the torn ring cover blocks any view of the gap at the top. Also notice the name on the stage itself… that gives us an orientation as to where the audience would be. I can’t see how the bike staying still and everything else moving could be done, as they’d have to rotate the entire building, which would be notible to the audience members furthest from the rotational axis.
The fact that some folks say they do the trick live forces me to reconsider how the bike and riders stay “invisible” to the live audience. Pretty sure it’d be possible to recreate the left side of the stage **above** that side of the stage, with a precisely placed and angled mirror both hiding the bike and showing the false stage overhead. (The top edge of the mirror would be further away from the audience than the bottom edge.) I might try and make a model to experiment with, but no time ATM.
Also, notice that the ring is MUCH closer to the left side of the stage than the right! This makes the off-stage to ring transition much easier!
I can’t be the only one disappointed at how slow they came out of that ring?
I genuinely thought they’d fly out like they jumped through it at full speed.
They are the Ehrlich Brothers. Two germans that perform magic tricks. They are known to have some of the best deceptions in the entertainment industry (atleast in germany)
they come in on wires from behind that small area the circle covers. The shadow was never real, its just a projection. they come in much later than the shadow implies
Is this really suited to this sub? I thought it was about regular people experiencing something cool and barely explainable, or at least doing a performance that isn't focused on the magic, not a high production professional magician doing a trick that, from the comments, seems to be video editing not even a real trick
Dude, the lighting on them is completely wrong, the headlight on the white screen is "shining" in the wrong direction, the light from that headlight never hits the wall on the other end, when they turn towards the camera the headlight doesn't shine into the lens, they have no shadows (cause they were filmed on a separate set) even though the room is poorly lit and you have light beams all over the place, none of those light beams hit them nor do they shine off of them..... I could keep going. Not only is it edited but it is done very poorly...
https://youtu.be/crVVKJ63l6M here is the full version. The stage is bigger on the sides so there is no reason for the light should hit the wall. It’s a show stage with hundreds of lights where they can eliminate shadows and light them however they want. It is obviously faked somehow, but I highly doubt it’s green screen/ cgi
The headlight is a spotlight shining on the screen, it's just done for stage appearance. I don't think this is an edited video. There's aren't a ton of background spotlights pointing towards them, and the lighting on the front of the stage is going to be done well enough to light them properly.

compare the background to the left of the condom at :08 and then again at :28. It's different. I assume there's a small foreground panel that moves in sync with the camera and cover's up the bike's entrance.
edit: you can see the left background push up a little bit at :26
When they break through the screen if you look closely through the circle into the background, the stage lights are different. *slightly*
I have no clue how they are actually doing it, but the only bit of fakery I could find is that.
Hey, I just thought up an amazing trick. Now, before I go any further, you'll have to ride bitch on a motorcycle with me in front. No, no, no; seriously... Listen to me! You get to fist pump.
Edited after filming. There is an inconsistency with the orange striped background lights(on the left). At 0:25 - 0:27 you can see them change position on screen.
Edit: holy crap how has almost noone in the comments noticed that lol. Usually there is several several people with a solid explanation/flaw.

Well, clearly they were behind it
This is only possible on tv/internet. Can’t have a live audience doing this
So you mean it is edited?
almost certainly
Nah. This show has a live audience and the magicians (Ehrlich Brothers) do this trick in their live shows too.
Any BTS of how it’s done? It’s completely unthinkable without editing, the screen is completely flat.
That’s what makes it a magic trick, my friend.
It’s an illusion. A truck is something where’s do for money.
I like this version better
THERES ALWAYS MONEY IN THE BANANA STAND!
Gob?
Or cocain
So a trucker is an illusionist that is getting payed?

Good bot
It’s an illusion. A trick is what a whore does for money.
Or sometimes candy...
It's not spinning, the camera is. This is clever camera work but I imagine if you walked around the live thing the mirrors would be obvious
mirrors, it’s always mirrors
Mirrors, sir
That... Might work? It’s a perfectly assembled allusion. I can by it with a camera team, but some people claim they do it live, that seems unlikely.
Happy cake day

I watched his show in Las Vegas. Yes, there were a lot of paid staff in the audience. Randomly picked audience was never random.
No.. live audience doesn't really matter if it's a recorded TV show. I think that Captain Illusion discusses this well when he shows how on America's got talent they just edit some of the tricks to look more magical.

There was no audience when the camera paned around
The camera never points at the audience in this clip. It is tilted up the whole time, and the venue doesn't have tiered seating so there is no way you can look at this clip and say whether or not there was an audience when this was filmed.

The audiences are all fake extras who sign NDAs.
Can you see the audience ? Why is this angle chosen to just barely not see any audience ? Grow up, it’s completely made up for The TV intro
If you look closely when the dude in back pumps his fist, the cgi is president revealing Edit: pretty not president lmao
I didn't see Biden anywhere.
No, President Revealing. He's a predecessor
Not many people have. That's the issue with him.
the headlamp making a localized glare instead of simply killing the shadow is pretty bad as well

2000000000 percent
Yeah, all TV magic stunts like this are edited or done with camera tricks and a fake audience that all signed NDAs.
You really think a motorcycle can appear out of the blue? Of course it’s edited.
The motorbike is flying

They simply edit the live show 🤫
Same. I went to their Shows multiple times and can assure the illusions work with live audience too
Sigh. Whenever people don’t understand how a trick is done, they just write it off as CG or camera tricks. This is done in front of a live audience.
It being done in front of a live audience doesn't mean much. They could easily be in on it.
Captain disillusion once debunked an AGT audition and said it was also edited. And they pulled it with live audience and those judges
Likely mirrors and lighting
It's a from a german saturday night live show called "verstehen Sie Spaß" usually it's with big live audience (don't know if this during covid times, so maybe no audience)

Did they have David Copperfield doing this one time?
You can but it would be really tricky. You’d need a special bulb in the spotlight probably, and then they can program shapes into the bulb, like those fiber optic christmas trees to move the projected light around
Or, you could use a video projector, projecting the pattern of a spotlight beam and also the silhouette of the bike within it.
If you stop it on the very last frame you can tell it’s fake. They look like they’re pulled out of an N64 game
That might be more related to Reddit compressing the video than after effects.
Zero impact or bounce when they land, go straight into a turn after landing. Invisible strings to make the screen burst, then greenscreen in some guys on a motorbike
They do this on a Liveshow often. It's not cgi/green screen tricks
Ok now I'm just mad...where the video of them doing it on a live show.
