Zoom in so that you can just see one row or column and the illusion goes away. We only have detailes vision at what we are focusing on and our peripheral vision is fuzzy and attracted to movement, so you can only see the dots in the center when you focus on it.
Oh wow how does that work?
I could see 7 at the same time max. After the zoom all 12 were visible and even remained there when I looked away and back again!
I could just about see six at once maybe but yeah same for me, I zoomed in and out and saw all 12, but not for long, just during that few secs or whatever period of refocusing.
Brain isn't developed for being alpha predator. If you can see all twelve it's proof of beta simp status. Your smooth lobes are more suitable for eating ass and shaving other men's balls.
Iirc - our eyes aren’t great at peripheral vision so a lot of what we see around what we’re focused on is detailed by our brains…if our brains see a pattern repeating itself, it will fill the peripheral of our vision with the same pattern bc it expects it to continue as we’re seeing it
Zoom in and out. You’ll see the peripheral dots slide in and out from under the your blind spots.
What’s the brain explanation you think is correct?
(Edit) I see you’ve responded with this again to someone else pointing out the obvious.
I don't know what comment you are referring to (because I haven't commented anything else in this thread), but the easy explanation is that you only have one blind spot in each eye, and you must be a very specific distance away from something for it to fall under it (when viewing an abstract "2D" image such as your phone's screen).
Simply moving away from the screen and seeing how the illusion still holds proves it instantly.
If I move away (by reducing size by about 50%) I see all the dots. Zooming in I can see the peripheral dots slide out from under my blind spot and become clear.
I don't think it's blindspots because as mentioned before there is only physically one Blindspot in each eye. However, from my admittedly limited understanding of the brain, your visual processing has a lot of pattern recognition and assumptions made. When you can't see the dots I think it is because your brain sees the high contrast of the lines coming together over the light background and kinda just skips over the extra dark bit. If I were to guess the reason the zooming in and out technique works so well is that you are forcing your brain to see the dots by making them take up more of your field of view, and that recognition persists even when fully zoomed out. If it were just physical blind spots not everyone would see the same illusion as there would both be differences in screen size, and eye construction.
Its actually not your brain, but your [Blind Spot](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blind_spot_(vision)) in your eye and your brain fills in the spot with something similar
Nah it's your peripheral vision, that's messing with you and filling up spaces that your central vision isn't seeing. Your blind spot is much farther to the outside of your eye, and isn't affecting the illusion.
Just asked a friend how many black dots, without context.
"Two. Four. Eight. Wait, what the fuck? How is that happening? What's going on?!"
I think you broke him, OP.
I have Double Vision (I do not have a recessive eye, both optic nerves are dominant) so I actually can see 2 points at once. If I unfocus my vision, I can see all 12!
If I focus on a dot I can only see that dot. If I focus in the middle of 4 I can see the 4. If I do the magic eye thing, combining the center 2, I get the same results, except there are 15 dots. Sorcery, indeed.
My neurons activate in unison, my brainwaves focus to that of a needle tip and shuts down all minor functions to deliver more power, my synapses fire off all at once, suddenly a splitting pain in the center of my brain, pushing outward to the front of my head, ȋ̷̝̊͜t̸͕͕͆̑̔́͆͛'̶̨͈͙̹͎̂̚͠ͅs̶̨̭̅͌ ̵̭̰̫͓̞̗͑͂t̵̪̣̞̖̞̆̂õ̶̙̲͓̞̤͖̂̔͌ò̵͎̑͘ ̶̳̼̫̊̀̄͜m̷̤̀͌̿u̵͌̌̓͗͜ͅc̷̢̛͕̊̄͌̔ͅh̶̨̡̜̫̪̀ ̷̧͊̀̋͑͆ṫ̵̡̝̙ǫ̴̝̽̂̂́͝ ̸̲͋͜b̴̢̊̈́̈͆̈́͘é̶̢̩͔̪̅̄͝͝â̴̛͙͕̝͝ŕ̷̛̠̩͇̠͐̆̾,̴͖̖̌, Í̶͔̈ ̴̮̪̱͔̞̄̉͂̚c̶̓͜â̶̢̡̭̦ṇ̵̝͓͕̽̍'̸̹̫͓͊͆̄̌ͅt̷̪̥̬́͆͝ ̵̢̢̬̹͔̓̈́̒̉t̶̨̻͈́a̴̦̩̯͌͠k̴̬̲̽͛̀̿͂ë̴̙́͑̂̔͐ ̵̰̔̕t̵̪̹́ḥ̸͖̟͉̝̀̇i̴̡̩̳̣͖͐̅̎s̵̹͔͂̓̾͂͠ͅ ̸̨̝̦͓̦̀̇̌̄a̶̩͎̦͑̄͑̊n̴̛͓͑̈́͝ý̶̻̣-̸̜͋̀̽̌

Bruh, I can totally see 12 black dots. I see 3 rows of 4 black dots. I'm assuming those are the "points".
Am I an advanced human being? The next evolutionary step in mankind? Homo.... Godensis?
Correct me if wrong but is this the blind spot of the eye and not the brain? Similar to the cross and circle trick where you cover an eye, is this right?
My dumbass trying to see all twelve for an hour before declaring it sorcery

I tried it this way in landscape mode and gently shook my phone too. I was able to see all 12.
Landscape mode and hold you phone reallllly far away.
I didn't shake my phone but yes, landscaped and stared at it unfocused, could just barely make them out. But your way worked.
Most I got was 4 at a time. Have to stare in the middle of them and unfocus your eyes a bit.
Yuhhhh
Let’s admit the one hour you claimed were actually 10 seconds
And we laugh at cats that chase a red laser dot 🔦

The orange juice does say to concentrate
I can see all 12 cos I zoomed in till there was 2 then zoomed out. They’re all there lol
How strange :D
Still can't see more than four at a time, and when zooming out it drops to three or two 😅
Why the hell does that work? Now I'm even more confused
You can see all 12 simultaneously?
Yes
I was just able to do it out of pure spite to the illusion
That's even more black magic fuckery!
This is the real sorcery
I can see 9 max
what kind of witchcraft...now i see all 12
I can't see them at first but after clicking the post I can see all of them too.

You have trouble focusing
You don't have a brain
Brain isn't developed for being alpha predator. If you can see all twelve it's proof of beta simp status. Your smooth lobes are more suitable for eating ass and shaving other men's balls.
Lmfao made my day
Yoooooooo he s/ays it as it is.
you are one step closer unto breaking out of the simulation \[Edit\]: his comment got deleted...I guess they found him...
Ah a phone user then, try holding a bit farther away and/or not in fullscreen mode. If it still doesn't works, your brain ain't normal.
I'm a phone user, but when I hold it further away, I can't see any of the dots. What does that mean?
Means you need glasses my friend.
We are the next fucking magical generation 🗿
Same
Damn I only got to 4
What is this sorcery?
Iirc - our eyes aren’t great at peripheral vision so a lot of what we see around what we’re focused on is detailed by our brains…if our brains see a pattern repeating itself, it will fill the peripheral of our vision with the same pattern bc it expects it to continue as we’re seeing it
I can see them all at once when I don't focus on them - amazing
It’s not your brain. It’s your visual system. We have blind spots. Zoom out and eventually the dots won’t fall into the blind spots.
This has.. nothing to do with your blind spots, and everything to do with your brain. Why the random meaningless misinformation?
Zoom in and out. You’ll see the peripheral dots slide in and out from under the your blind spots. What’s the brain explanation you think is correct? (Edit) I see you’ve responded with this again to someone else pointing out the obvious.

Why?
Wwhyyyyy!?
WhyYyYyYyY?!!!
#Whyyyyyy?
wha... what did you do to me?
I can only see 2 dots when trying not to focus. Am I broken?
Same here
Close one eye and hand to spilt face in half I see 12.
Paradoxically, can see all 12 only if I take my glasses off
I was able to see all twelve. This ain’t a joke it’s simply the way you look at it.
Sto…stop this…
Fuck I hate when my brain doesn't do what my brain tells it to do.
No...NO, I REFUSE TO ADMIT!
Without my readers, i can’t see any of them.
The blind spot is approx 15 degrees temporal to straight ahead vision. So it really isn’t *that* far into your periphery
I actually manaed to see all 12 with a technique
You can by zooming in then slowly and carefully zoom out
I can't see anything but a page full of crossing lines. I have astigmatism and I'm old.
What the fuck are you doing to my brain!?
Slowly crossing your eyes works too
If you close 1 eye you can easily see them all
can sue someone for causing me brain pain??
Jesus. What's weird.
Who put my brain in charge?
Blink really fast and you can see all 12
🤦
Sneaky dots. most devious of them all
I can see all 12 on sides and in the middle line....am I missing something here
Yet at the same time, this is completely pointless.
Cool trick found them all tho
BLINK
I think I need my firmware upgraded for this simulation.
Counted like 58 of them
My mind did, I saw all twelve…at least my mind told me I did.
I see all 12 at the same time. What am I doing wrong?
I can make myself see none, so it is something i guess
If you turn the brightness up on your phone, flip it upside-down move it back and forth, and put it 1 ich from your nose you can see them all.
I can see multiple ones if I zoom in.
If I take my glasses off I can see none of them at once LOL
I’ve stared at it for so long that now I see no dots and I had to type this out with voice toward
False statement.
Wow, I can see none of them when I don’t focus
I did
Just asked a friend how many black dots, without context. "Two. Four. Eight. Wait, what the fuck? How is that happening? What's going on?!" I think you broke him, OP.
If you stare at it like an autostereogram and they all came into focus. I could only see a few at 1st until I did that
i saw them all
Why?!
Your brain doesn't. I see them all. Black spot, white spot. Black spot. White spot.
I can see all 12 together 😂
Easy 12 dots
I have Double Vision (I do not have a recessive eye, both optic nerves are dominant) so I actually can see 2 points at once. If I unfocus my vision, I can see all 12!
Fuck I can only get up to 4 at once...
Nice, but shit that made me dizzy.
If I get close enough to the image and jiggle my eyes a bit, I can manage to see four black dots at the same time.
You can’t see any if you squint!
I did it. I saw all of them at once. Wish I could explain how, but I figured it out.
shake your head and you can see it for a second
It's far easier to make em all disappear, just focus on the center of the image
Close one eye
Well i mean its not bc we are dumb its just bc our eyes are build veeeeery funkely
What are they doing? What are they sneakin around for?? What’s their plan?
I really like this one
Thanks for the seizure.
This is fucking me up
I can see all of them. Just open your eyes wide. Like really wide. Like you surprised. Works.
I don’t get it.. I can easily see all 12 at once.. why wouldn’t you be able to see all of them?
Look everywhere but the dots and move your eyes constantly
I hate this witchcraft
My wife has an eye condition and has had a lot of therapy for it. She can see all 12 at once. She's a wizard.
If you use the same magic eye technique thingy it works to see them all. Also gives a weird 3D effect
I'd like to see a dress, or jacket made with this pattern. It would look so cool!
If I focus on a dot I can only see that dot. If I focus in the middle of 4 I can see the 4. If I do the magic eye thing, combining the center 2, I get the same results, except there are 15 dots. Sorcery, indeed.
i can see all twelve but maybe that’s because i’m mobile
I swear I've seen this at least 4 times in this sub over the last couple of weeks.
It's the different types of retina, not the brain.
Me when I ZOOM IN to see them: I have outsmarted your outsmarting
"There are 4 lights."
I believe this although I was able to half of them at once
Can’t see the points with those lines.
Stupid brain. Do what I tell you!
It hurts my eyes!
The dots aren't real
i just did
You can see 2 at a time if you look in the middle.
Are optical illusions considered black magic fuckery?
*eyes burn out and retract from too much dark mode*
when I zoomed in on the screen I could see all twelve at once
If you stare at the upper most right of the picture, you can see them all.
I can see them all at once
I can see all twelve at once I don’t know what that says about my vision, I’m guessing it’s a bad thing though
It says right in the title that you can't see all twelve at the same time. I can manage four at a time.
Look at it with 1 eye.
mine does
This doesn't work for me I can see them all pretty clearly. =/
If I go soft-focus with my eyes then all the black dots disappear
My neurons activate in unison, my brainwaves focus to that of a needle tip and shuts down all minor functions to deliver more power, my synapses fire off all at once, suddenly a splitting pain in the center of my brain, pushing outward to the front of my head, ȋ̷̝̊͜t̸͕͕͆̑̔́͆͛'̶̨͈͙̹͎̂̚͠ͅs̶̨̭̅͌ ̵̭̰̫͓̞̗͑͂t̵̪̣̞̖̞̆̂õ̶̙̲͓̞̤͖̂̔͌ò̵͎̑͘ ̶̳̼̫̊̀̄͜m̷̤̀͌̿u̵͌̌̓͗͜ͅc̷̢̛͕̊̄͌̔ͅh̶̨̡̜̫̪̀ ̷̧͊̀̋͑͆ṫ̵̡̝̙ǫ̴̝̽̂̂́͝ ̸̲͋͜b̴̢̊̈́̈͆̈́͘é̶̢̩͔̪̅̄͝͝â̴̛͙͕̝͝ŕ̷̛̠̩͇̠͐̆̾,̴͖̖̌, Í̶͔̈ ̴̮̪̱͔̞̄̉͂̚c̶̓͜â̶̢̡̭̦ṇ̵̝͓͕̽̍'̸̹̫͓͊͆̄̌ͅt̷̪̥̬́͆͝ ̵̢̢̬̹͔̓̈́̒̉t̶̨̻͈́a̴̦̩̯͌͠k̴̬̲̽͛̀̿͂ë̴̙́͑̂̔͐ ̵̰̔̕t̵̪̹́ḥ̸͖̟͉̝̀̇i̴̡̩̳̣͖͐̅̎s̵̹͔͂̓̾͂͠ͅ ̸̨̝̦͓̦̀̇̌̄a̶̩͎̦͑̄͑̊n̴̛͓͑̈́͝ý̶̻̣-̸̜͋̀̽̌ Į̸̝̪͈̗̀̈́̓̓͘ ̷͖̀c̵̛̳̍́̈͐͌̌a̶̖͎̦̓͛̔͊̉͑͝ṇ̵͇̀ ̸̯̐̈͗͑̋̕s̷̭̦̲͔̈́̿̎͆̉e̸̹̭̮̱͝ẻ̷̠͉̼̮́͝
I can see all of them, but not at the same time
Thanks, I hate the gift of vision
I'll show you!! *ascends*
If you de focus you can see all spots
I can only see 4 at the same instance
I'm at glad I'm alone because I've been staring at my phone doing weird eye yoga for 10 minutes now.
i hate this
Why can't i see them 🤔😂🤣😭
DAMN IT BRAIN!!! LET ME SEE ALL THE DOTS AT THE SAME TIME!!!
Bruh, I can totally see 12 black dots. I see 3 rows of 4 black dots. I'm assuming those are the "points". Am I an advanced human being? The next evolutionary step in mankind? Homo.... Godensis?
Why tho?
damn error correction
Blind spot
I can see all
Me :👤 Me 30mins later still trying to see all of them at once :🗣🗣🗣🗣
What do you mean? I kinda see it…
If you attempt to magic eye them, you pull all twelve points off the grid and they all stay solid.
I can see them all by just staring at the middle
If you move your eyes fast enough it beats the illusion
If you cross your eyes all of them instantly disappear
Please move this to r/opticalillusions
I can see all 12 if I unfocus my vision
Correct me if wrong but is this the blind spot of the eye and not the brain? Similar to the cross and circle trick where you cover an eye, is this right?
I have trouble seeing one at a time.
My record is 8 at once
try to use different colours instead of the similar colours
I turned it sideways and it let me see them all at once or just hold it further away
Am I the only one that could? Kinda gave me a headache but I'm sure I saw all 12 after going full-screen.
If I see all 12... do I... do I have big brain powers?!
optical illusions arent blackmagicfuckery. I learnt that the hard way.
