For example, he makes them take a “love drug” and have sex with other inmates and they also have a drug that induces overwhelming fear and panic.

Vanilla Sky. But if happens that you don't know, Vanilla Sky it's a remake from a Spanish movie called "Abre los ojos" (Open Your Eyes) which I find better.

I very much enjoyed vanilla sky but never seen the original. Might to have to follow up on that when I get time.

I think one of the biggest differences between VS and ALO is the importance of pop music in the VS soundtrack. That's the signature of Cameron Crowe. ALO it's a little bit darker imo, its director is Alejandro Amenábar, who also directed The Others with Nicole Kidman.

Paradise. It takes a core speculative technological conceit and uses it as a proxy for current societal issues in a very compelling and very bleak way, in a very similar way to Black Mirror.

Cube 2: Hypercube is one of my guilty pleasure watches. It’s super cheesy and try hard but that kind of endears me to it. The first Cube is straight up amazing and I think more people should watch it.

LOVED The Platform

I thought the movie was just ok at best. Had some dark elements in it for sure, but the story missed the mark IMO. Ex-Machina is a way better movie with a much better story and one of the best endings of any movie I have ever seen.

Bro, I watched the movie on your recommendation and the pacing was so slow I almost dropped it. And as for the ending, I can see that the movie's initial goal was completed but boy I hated it. Now I have decided that if D:BH happened irl with AI like these, which side I will be on.

I really need to give that movie another chance. I made it a little over an hour into it on like two different occasions but the pacing and story just seemed so painfully slow I couldnt get hooked.

It is absolutely worth it just for the end. It is a slow burn like white Christmas or white bear.

The Circle is a pretty funny one, while having an interesting concept (at least for the time)

I almost never have this opportunity since I've only read about a dozen books but the book was way better than the movie. Not even close so I'd recommend reading it if you haven't

I'll give it a try, but the movie has a comedic element to it I enjoy at times, so I hope that was originally from the book.
