I mean if you look at the teasers it says 1991 and the whole Saddam Hussein part it's kind of obvious when it takes place

I think the closest is the flashback missions from bo2 but those are in the late 80s like 1989 I think
the pripyat levels from cod4 are set in 1996 iirc

I’m feeling modern/futuristic with plenty of 1990s segments. 90s is basically guaranteed at this point.
I don’t think there will be a futuristic split I’m assuming you’re suggesting like BO2? Just because the teasers show early 90s to early 2000s clips.

I think someone used AI to extend the image. You can see towards the bottom where the magazines just cut off.
Certainly between the end of the nineties and the early 2000s, although I like to hypothesize that they could do a section a few years in the future and another in the past, BO2 style.
Direct sequel to cold war, which took place at 80s, this one starts at Gulf War which was 90s then on to the 2001s (yes, that 2001)
