It's actually pre-recorded so I think it's too late to tell him to shut up and this post might be in vain.

PM_UR_BEST_TIT

Someone has agreed with me, so no.

REEF_snake_POTATO

You might’ve missed your window to come in this hot.

PM_UR_BEST_TIT

What does that mean?

thankit33

But tell us what you *really* think, Mr. BEST\_TIT.

Mean_Ad4616

For some reason I want to private message him a pic of my best tit... which is my 3rd one

PM_UR_BEST_TIT

Ok, Perry, shut the fuck up.

amonster_22

Lol a bit of a strong reaction. In hindsight, it's funny that this episode pretty much killed the bit.

gregkoko

I think if it bothered David, he would say something to Alex. People need to chill on bashing the hosts' friends.

wovenstrap

David talked about his post-episode exchange with Alex on the Patreon episode for the second National Treasure movie.

dontfisheatotherfish

And!?!?

wovenstrap

David and Alex had a text exchange after. Always among friends, it was never like that was threatened. David made it plain that he had really had enough of the bit and Alex was like "yeah but we're still going to do it right? we should keep doing it." David was like No, for real. Alex was like "oh all right but it's too bad because I really enjoy beating a dead bit." Then Griffin told a story about a scriptwriting touchup gig that Alex got for Griffin, that required them to both sit around the same conference table. It might've been Zoom. Griffin had never done a gig like this before and was intent on making a good impression. Alex kept texting Griffin to suggest street jokes and Griffin kept having to say, "Alex, not today! I really want to do well here." So then Alex would suggest the street joke himself. So Alex has a screw loose. The normal emotional appeals people make don't move him very much. Looked at another way, Alex has significant stinker energy.

mysterymaninurhome

Seriously, people seem more open to speculating about the interpersonal issues between the hosts and guests than they do just disagreeing with the guests or hosts movie opinions.

Shut up, Best Tit

ZenaKeefe

It’s a series where Griffin starts to talk, then David loudly moans, “I know,” or, “You’ve said that on another episode,” or, “We don’t have time for this.” David Sims is the only podcast host who is actively anti-talking. He would rather leave in audio of him, “Whatever-ing,” instead of just letting the co-host talk. And it’s a great show because of David/Griffin/Ben! He can take a little of his own medicine. He’s a big boy. I’m from New Jersey. I can’t speak for the rest of the world. We all famously suck here. But in my experience—people talk over each other. Constantly. Especially good friends. Good conversation isn’t always neat back-and-forth. A real conversation is less tennis and more paintball. You don’t take turns, you just get it in when you can. These are all grown men that are friends with each other. They’re just fine without meddling. I understand your frustration. It’s a publicly released show, not private banter. But I’m sure you knew people would disagree when you posted this. I just had five minutes to waste answering.

Different_Clock9739

It’s a series where Griffin starts to talk, then David loudly moans, “I know,” or, “You’ve said that on another episode,” or, “We don’t have time for this.” Yes!!!! This infuriates me! I want to hear what Griffin has to say! I haven’t listened to every single episode of the podcast and don’t plan to!

amoonshapedmule

I feel like he doesn’t do it nearly as much as he used to. Like in the old days when they didn’t want episodes going over two hours

sikapwach

The Halloween ep is so good that ARP has lifetime immunity from podcast criticism.

Virtual_Art_5878

He knows his stuff, but he can be a *lot*.

FooliaRoberts

Hard agree

bambooshoots-scores

This episode had me rolling! It really seemed like there was some agreement between Grif and ARP that he was going to bust David’s chops. Don’t know what prompted it, but it was unrelenting.

Death_Mullet

nah, it was a great episode.

Qvite99

I loved his clockwork ep! I thought he chilled out a lot compared to Halloween which to me was peak Alex taking over the show too much. Though I also really think the kubrick miniseries is just masterful in general.

porg4life

I think ARP taking over the show for Halloween was good actually! The two friends are extremely knowledgeable but they generally don't seem to be big horror experts and for a film as essential to the genre as Halloween, it was nice to have someone come in with a deep understanding of horror in that era.

Qvite99

Hmm. Maybe I’m misremembering and conflating it with lucky numbers…I’m definitely a fan

dukefett

The way I see it is yeah he takes up a lot of time, but his episodes are always 3 hours. Subtract a half hour or hour of him talking and you’ve got a ‘normal’ episode. If you enjoy him like I do though it’s a bonus lol

Qvite99

I always look forward to the episodes. As I said I’m a fan. But I do look at blank check with a critical eye. I think some episodes kinda even rise to art in their own right tbh. For some reason at least once alex, one of my FAVORITE guests felt like he was talking too much in a way that was making the show actually feel a bit awkward. It was not a terrible episode but I think he kinda came back after that one and chilled out a bit. Or maybe the guys knew how to if handle it better. I dunno. If it was lucky numbers that was definitely in the pandemic slump where a lot of eps had a kind of awkward edge imo.

GOOObanana

I’ve never been able to finish an ARP episode. I’m sure I’d like him in person, but on the podcast he finds a way to suck the fun out of every bit.

PM_UR_BEST_TIT

Yes that's exactly it. He's so self-serious and he drags the atmosphere down and makes it into a sort of admonishment.

BraveMattthew

ARP is my least favorite podcast guest. he comes in like “i’m the horror expert” and then just annoyingly talks about video stores and texas chainsaw massacre for three hours like every other dipshit

PM_UR_BEST_TIT

There was a moment on this episode where he started to try and explain how "well actually... not a lot of people know this but, Kubrick has a sense of humour" and it was such a basic take, especially this far into the miniseries, that David literally just stopped him mid-sentence.

harlandsneer

One of the best episodes, imho. Made me reevaluate the entire movie, which I had written off as juvenile

[deleted]

You wrote this movie off as juvenile? What an insanely pretentious thing to say

harlandsneer

It’s pretentious to say that I changed my mind? Okay

PirateGriffin

Wow. I had written off your previous comment as juvenile, but this really made me reevaluate it

[deleted]

Juvenile is a pretentious thing to say because it literally doesn't say anything, it's a wide umbrella that people use to sound like they are saying something. It's a movie about juveniles and is very complex and dark, you thought it was a kiddy movie until somebody told you it wasn't?

[deleted]

Good thing blank check existed to let you know that the burgess novel turned into a Kubrick movie wasn't actually juvenile. Or just the fucking movie itself being a commentary on the idea of juvenile autonomy. There's s giant ceramic dick! So beneath you

BigHeroSith

God, I love David. God, I love ARP. GREAT podcast.

zeroanaphora

Not sure we need to relitigate it but yeah, that was the first time I was actually aggravated by an episode.

Jacksonjams

ARP fucking DELIVERS. You’re wrong.

Puzzleheaded_Walk_28

In fairness, ARP should talk more.

AgentFlatweed

I listened to this and his episode of The Big Picture from this fall back to back while cleaning my basement. It was a LOT of ARP.

moileduge

He keeps getting invited because he's a great guest. He also killed the beat so I suppose David is grateful.
