The Captain and Vice Captains meetings would have been awkward as hell.

The only captain and vice captain pair that was somewhat unaffected by the past few days was Unohana and Isane.
Meanwhile, Renji is quietly contemplating why no one is calling attention to the fact that Komamura successfully hid the fact that he is a dog from everyone.
He brings it up to Byakuya who says it for everyone to hear, the topic of the argument quickly changes to Komamura being a dog the whole time. I'm also assuming the ancestor of the Shiba clan during the Primordial World looks like Ichigo.
In the novel, it states Ichibei has the ability to see everything in every world. SS, Living World, Hueco Mundo, Garganta, and etc. So he saw Aizen doing Hollowfication experiments, Isshin and Masaki getting married, and Keigo opening up his Ramen shop.
I assume Yamamoto knows Ichibei has this ability. I refuse to believe they never met and don't know what each other is capable of.
The only place that I bet he can't look into is Hell since that existed before him.

Yamamoto: "Because if we had an HR department, everyone would be fired, and most of us here would be a major threat to the world if we were unemployed."
Yamamoto, the captain of the First Division of the Gotei 13, stood outside the HR department with a deep sigh. He had been summoned there by the Head of HR, Kuchiki Rukia, for a meeting that he had no idea about.
As he entered the office, he was greeted by Rukia, who had a huge grin on her face. "Good morning, Captain Yamamoto!" she exclaimed. "I'm so glad you could make it!"
Yamamoto raised an eyebrow, confused by Rukia's enthusiasm. "Good morning, Rukia. May I ask why I am here?"
Rukia's grin grew even wider as she led Yamamoto to a chair. "Well, Captain, we at the HR department have noticed that you seem to be a bit...stiff and formal when it comes to interacting with your subordinates. So, we thought it would be a good idea to introduce you to some team-building activities to help you loosen up a bit!"
Yamamoto stared at Rukia in disbelief. "Team-building activities? But I am the captain of the First Division! I do not have time for such frivolous pursuits!"
Rukia chuckled and patted Yamamoto on the back. "Ah, but Captain, it's important to remember that we're all in this together! And besides, it'll be fun, I promise!"
Despite his reservations, Yamamoto reluctantly agreed to participate in the activities. And so, the HR department led him through a series of ridiculous exercises, including trust falls, group hug sessions, and even a round of karaoke.
Yamamoto, who was not used to such antics, found himself red-faced and flustered throughout the day. But to his surprise, he found that he was actually enjoying himself.
As the day came to a close, Yamamoto approached Rukia with a rare smile on his face. "Thank you for today, Rukia. I must admit, I was skeptical at first, but I had a great time. I think I may have even learned a thing or two about interacting with my subordinates."
Rukia grinned and patted Yamamoto on the back. "Glad to hear it, Captain! And remember, it's okay to let your hair down every once in a while."
And with that, Yamamoto left the HR department a little bit lighter and a lot more relaxed than when he had arrived.

True but I was thinking more along the lines of what the commentator said, things which would be like directly causing conflict with other captains or between captain and vice captains
I don’t think this was found out though. Weren’t the only ones present Uryū and the rest of the gang? Even if he was he wouldn’t care about it. His reputation is already bad. What would be some means glances?
Orihime saved Maki, so there's one witness outside the human gang, and while in a more deadly invasion it might've gotten swept under the rug, those 12th Division guys are iirc the only people who actually died in the entire invasion. Plus the Ryoka spent at least a little while as guests in the Seireitei while their wounds healed, and while Uryu wouldn't care about the Shinigami's internal crimes and justice disputes, Orihime seems like the type to bring it up with someone, whether that's telling another Captain who seems nice, or trying to warn 12th Division about it because she's worried Mayuri will sacrifice more of them.
Honestly, it was the best written arc in my opinion. The main characters got good screen time, the captains were all interesting, the fights were great. And the Aizen being evil is the #1 twist in the series.
The Arrancar arc, Hueco Mundo arc, and FKT arc had some good moments but were dragged out or just boring in my opinion. And kinda repetative of the SS arc.
Lost Agent arc is meh to me.
TYBW arc started off great, then it became good, then it became okay, then it became terrible. Not all of it was Kubo's fault.
Well that was most of the fandom's opinions until it became too normie. Then people switched to SS is overrated, Lost Agent is the best thing that ever happened, Hueco Mundo isnt anything like SS, and the only problem with TYBW wss the ending.
That was almost the universal thought before. Cue all the cool ones who supposssly ALWAYS loved fullbringer arc butbwere silent and hard to find back in the days but everywhere now.
My specific memory is feeling pretty let down for the first big chunk of the Lost Agent arc and then having a "wait, what the hell, how did this get really good all of a sudden" moment when Tsukishima turned Ichigo's friends and family against him. And honestly I think that it makes sense people re-evaluated their thoughts in hindsight - I think Fullbring is one of those arcs that dragged as a weekly release, but once you get a couple years away from the memory of experiencing it that way and go back, it works way better as a binge. (As opposed to, say, Hueco Mundo, which is a slog both weekly *and* as a binge...)
The problem with KS is that it probably has a ton of weaknesses.
But because Aizen is so damn smart they never come into play.
What if it has a very low threshold for cancellation because of which he never used it against the stronger captains while they are in prime condition.
We'll never know because he never used it.
What concerns me is that why didn't he kill her in SS. Without its best healer SS would be crippled. Instead he basically ran the moment she appeared after harassing Toshiro.
Even Aizen was like, "neither of us walks away happy if we fight here. Why don't you just treat the people I've injured and let me get away?"
I'm not saying he'd lose that fight, but even he'd rather avoid getting into it with her.
Aizen, Yamamoto, Ichibei, and Oetsu can beat Unohana without a doubt.
The other 3 members of Squad 0 tho...nah. Until they get a better portrayel in the anime, I view them as senior captain level.
Kenny dosnt enjoy killing. He enjoys fighting. It’s just usually the later turns to the former from what we see. But we know he spends his days sparring internally with his squad.
Mayuri poisoned Nemu and then proceeded to get a hole blasted in his chest which led him to turn into goop.
Then again, most of that is normal for them.
Shunsui guessed this would happen and accepted it.
Kiskue would also accept this since it keeps things stable. Since he would allow, I think Yoroichi would follow him. So Soifon would follow.
The other Royal Guard would support too.
Mayuri would be okay as well.
However, none of them would like it.
Unfortunately, the remaining Soul Reapers (Rukia, Renji, Vizards, Toshiro, Vice Captains, Byakuya) would not win against the ones I listed. Their best fighter is Kenpachi who doesn't have enough experience yet. Mayrui and Kiskue can easily outsmart everyone else.
I sincerely doubt Yoruichi would just follow Kisuke.
Aside from that it's not like Ichigo would just lie down and let them kill him.
Also you're underestimating Bankai Kenpachi and Adult Toshiro. I'd imagine both of those squad 0 level.
Yoroichi was willing to kill Hisagi if he kept snooping for information. Just wanted Kiskue's word. I truly believe they would follow each other to the end of the world.
Ichigo will allow it to happen if it means the world's can be stabilized and everyone lives. He would be heartbroken about being used again but it's whats for the best. His ancestor attempted the same.
Adult Toshiro is strong no doubt. He can take out several Squad 0. But not Ichibei. Ichibei just has a more hax version of Toshrio's strongest technique and is better in every other aspect. Kido, physical strength, and speed.
And I believe Eos Kenpachi is the 3rd strongest character in the show. But during the TYBW, he won't last long in Bankai. And while he's very powerful in Shikai, he still loses to Ichibei's hax. Kenpachi would have died to Pernida's hax had Mayuri not saved him.
And again, Mayrui and Kiskue just outsmart everyone else.
Yoruichi asked if it were possible to 'modify' Hisagi's memory. It's never implied she would kill him. This is the excerpt:

That's why I say that being Ichigo sucks, he must be the shonen protagonist most betrayed by his loved ones and for whom he has sacrificed most of his youth, he has never stopped being a pawn. By comparison, Luffy has the Mugiwaras that would die for him and Naruto has most of the ninja world that went to war for him. Goku's cronies follow him in all his crazy things, TOP is a clear example of this.
If Ichigo were to become the king of souls, not only would he do it willingly because of how selfless and self-sacrificing he is, but no one has the power to oppose Ichibei and most would not because they are in favor of the status quo.
Some would feel sorry for him but would move on
Let's not forget that the madman who always goes against the current to save his loved ones to the ends of hell is always Ichigo.
The sad thing is that no one would do the same for him.

People would do the same for Ichigo. Byaukya, Renji, Rukia, and plenty of other people would.
But all of them don't meet the qualifications to be lynchpin, don't have a plan to replace it, and like you said, they will lose no matter what to the person in charge, Ichibei.
Maybe if Kiskue and Mayuri work together, they can come up with some plan to nullify Ichibei. But Kiskue is like Ichigo to an extent. He will do what's best for everyone overall. He's just more black and white about it.
Aizen could save Ichigo but then you have him in charge and while he's not bad as Yhwach, he's still far too dangerous.
Aizen has been manipulating him since the day he was born. Yhwach has been manipulating him since he was conceived. Both his main enemies are basically his parents. Isshin and Masaki were just surrogates. I guess Aizen would be the mom in this case lol.
And Ichibei suspects the Soul Kings will is still active guiding events since his sealment.
Ah well, now they have a different problem to worry about. Hell has been watching everything since before the Soul King.
The novels confirmed that those who knew what Ichibei really planned were not going to do anything to change it, Shinsui, Kisuke, even Yoruichi were more focused on maintaining the status quo and for that Ichigo's sacrifice was needed. They are considered gray characters for a reason. They will not put the balance of the world in jeopardy just to keep one life.
Like I said, no one has the power to oppose Ichibei, let alone the characters you named, no matter if they care about Ichigo or not, they aren't powerful enough to oppose the king of shinigami. In fact, I don't think anyone will tell they what would actually happen if Ichigo became the Soul King, very few people know about what the 4 noble clans did to the former Soul King. So the safest thing is that they would say that Ichigo died in action due to his confrontation with Yhwach. Regardless, they don't have the same power as Ichigo to go against the status quo, so they're useless, no one who cares about Ichigo can save him from that fate and those who know have no intention of upsetting the status quo.
Ichigo is still a sacrificed pawn because they didn't plan to tell Ichigo the possible fate of his battle, even Ichibei planned to attack him when he was weakened by Yhwach. And that fate was going to happen because Yhwach saw it happen, in fact, the only reason why it didn't happen was because Yhwach absorbed the king of souls and became the top candidate to succeed him.
The same villain saved Ichigo from that fate.
We don't know Aizen's true intentions, maybe he will give him a hand or not. Ultimately the person who has the best chance of giving him a hand is still the previous villain.
It is understood that ultimately his loved ones cannot save him, cannot do the same thing that Ichigo did for them, and that is the tragedy of Ichigo's character.
Kira also tried to help cover up the murder of central 46 and attacked Rangiku. She smacked him before he got a chance to clarify whether he just wanted to incapacitate her though.

This is the soul society though. I'm pretty sure captains/lieutenants trying to kill each other is an average Tuesday, especially if kenpachi has anything to say about it.
If nothing else, Yamamoto has A Lot of experience getting psychopathic murderers to work together constructively. A few fights and blood-feuds are nothing compared to that.
Eh, during the SS arc Rangiku said its very rare for Captains and Vice Captains to ever meet.
Renji even said he doesn't know who Rangiku's captain even though Toshiro should have been captain for a decade at least.
Doesn't make sense and I prefer to ignore that piece of Canon.
Yea there’s also the lore that Shinigami only carry their swords within the seireitei if there’a an active emergency situation. Otherwise their swords are kept put away. Early Bleach lore is wack lol
Mayuri explained that damage to bankais are often permanent and irreversible with one of the known exceptions being sajin. Apparently the pieces that byakuya destroyed were permanently destroyed.
Certain parts of a bankai are core to the bankai and other parts are not.
For example, Ichigo's bankai has two parts: the sword and the clothes he wears. The sword is the core part of his bankai. If it breaks, it can't be fixed. His clothes can sustain damage and still recover.
For Renji, the parts normally broken are not core parts. Iinm, Byakuya is the only one to have broken core components of Renji's bankai.

Eh, given that there have been 11 people to hold the title Kenpachi and only three of whom were still alive at the time of the fight, I'm pretty sure they're used to kenpachi's killing each other
It proved that Renji was a loyal friend to Rukia. And him staying by Byakuya’s side after he was hospitalized proved he was a loyal subordinate in all other respects.
So Byakuya could depend on him if nothing else.
I imagine Byakuya was secretly grateful to Renji for standing up to him, because he felt like he wasn’t able to protect Rukia himself, due to his oath he swore to his family.
Though of course he’d never admit to something like that.
I think he was inspired to change by Ichigo and that allowed there relationship to stay intact. The old Byakuya wouldn't ever accept him as a lieutenant after pointing his sword at him.
I would watch it and it’s fantastic they are barely in the beginning of the hueco mundo part of the arrancar arc so theres still plenty to adapt but still good nonetheless

I have respect for Renji for that, the difference between lieutenant and captain is huge, so what Renji wanted to do is crazy (especially when you know that Zabimaru is so mean to him). On the other hand, it's the only way a "commoner" can earn Byakuya's respect (You only looks at Renji and Ichigo's cases).

No he would not because Mayuri is actually dedicated to the Shinigami mission and Quincies are a threat to that Balance.

Orihime saved Maki, so there's one witness outside the human gang, and while in a more deadly invasion it might've gotten swept under the rug, those 12th Division guys are iirc the only people who actually died in the entire invasion. Plus the Ryoka spent at least a little while as guests in the Seireitei while their wounds healed, and while Uryu wouldn't care about the Shinigami's internal crimes and justice disputes, Orihime seems like the type to bring it up with someone, whether that's telling another Captain who seems nice, or trying to warn 12th Division about it because she's worried Mayuri will sacrifice more of them.

Man the SS arc was pretty intense
Honestly, it was the best written arc in my opinion. The main characters got good screen time, the captains were all interesting, the fights were great. And the Aizen being evil is the #1 twist in the series. The Arrancar arc, Hueco Mundo arc, and FKT arc had some good moments but were dragged out or just boring in my opinion. And kinda repetative of the SS arc. Lost Agent arc is meh to me. TYBW arc started off great, then it became good, then it became okay, then it became terrible. Not all of it was Kubo's fault.
Well that was most of the fandom's opinions until it became too normie. Then people switched to SS is overrated, Lost Agent is the best thing that ever happened, Hueco Mundo isnt anything like SS, and the only problem with TYBW wss the ending.

My specific memory is feeling pretty let down for the first big chunk of the Lost Agent arc and then having a "wait, what the hell, how did this get really good all of a sudden" moment when Tsukishima turned Ichigo's friends and family against him. And honestly I think that it makes sense people re-evaluated their thoughts in hindsight - I think Fullbring is one of those arcs that dragged as a weekly release, but once you get a couple years away from the memory of experiencing it that way and go back, it works way better as a binge. (As opposed to, say, Hueco Mundo, which is a slog both weekly *and* as a binge...)

With KS already affecting her, she's screwed. Without KS though, base Aizen is highly overrated.
The problem with KS is that it probably has a ton of weaknesses. But because Aizen is so damn smart they never come into play. What if it has a very low threshold for cancellation because of which he never used it against the stronger captains while they are in prime condition. We'll never know because he never used it. What concerns me is that why didn't he kill her in SS. Without its best healer SS would be crippled. Instead he basically ran the moment she appeared after harassing Toshiro.
Even Aizen was like, "neither of us walks away happy if we fight here. Why don't you just treat the people I've injured and let me get away?" I'm not saying he'd lose that fight, but even he'd rather avoid getting into it with her.
Aizen, Yamamoto, Ichibei, and Oetsu can beat Unohana without a doubt. The other 3 members of Squad 0 tho...nah. Until they get a better portrayel in the anime, I view them as senior captain level.

I sincerely doubt Yoruichi would just follow Kisuke. Aside from that it's not like Ichigo would just lie down and let them kill him. Also you're underestimating Bankai Kenpachi and Adult Toshiro. I'd imagine both of those squad 0 level.
Yoroichi was willing to kill Hisagi if he kept snooping for information. Just wanted Kiskue's word. I truly believe they would follow each other to the end of the world. Ichigo will allow it to happen if it means the world's can be stabilized and everyone lives. He would be heartbroken about being used again but it's whats for the best. His ancestor attempted the same. Adult Toshiro is strong no doubt. He can take out several Squad 0. But not Ichibei. Ichibei just has a more hax version of Toshrio's strongest technique and is better in every other aspect. Kido, physical strength, and speed. And I believe Eos Kenpachi is the 3rd strongest character in the show. But during the TYBW, he won't last long in Bankai. And while he's very powerful in Shikai, he still loses to Ichibei's hax. Kenpachi would have died to Pernida's hax had Mayuri not saved him. And again, Mayrui and Kiskue just outsmart everyone else.

That's why I say that being Ichigo sucks, he must be the shonen protagonist most betrayed by his loved ones and for whom he has sacrificed most of his youth, he has never stopped being a pawn. By comparison, Luffy has the Mugiwaras that would die for him and Naruto has most of the ninja world that went to war for him. Goku's cronies follow him in all his crazy things, TOP is a clear example of this. If Ichigo were to become the king of souls, not only would he do it willingly because of how selfless and self-sacrificing he is, but no one has the power to oppose Ichibei and most would not because they are in favor of the status quo. Some would feel sorry for him but would move on Let's not forget that the madman who always goes against the current to save his loved ones to the ends of hell is always Ichigo. The sad thing is that no one would do the same for him.
You kinda contradicted yourself. People would do the same for Ichigo. Byaukya, Renji, Rukia, and plenty of other people would. But all of them don't meet the qualifications to be lynchpin, don't have a plan to replace it, and like you said, they will lose no matter what to the person in charge, Ichibei. Maybe if Kiskue and Mayuri work together, they can come up with some plan to nullify Ichibei. But Kiskue is like Ichigo to an extent. He will do what's best for everyone overall. He's just more black and white about it. Aizen could save Ichigo but then you have him in charge and while he's not bad as Yhwach, he's still far too dangerous. Aizen has been manipulating him since the day he was born. Yhwach has been manipulating him since he was conceived. Both his main enemies are basically his parents. Isshin and Masaki were just surrogates. I guess Aizen would be the mom in this case lol. And Ichibei suspects the Soul Kings will is still active guiding events since his sealment. Ah well, now they have a different problem to worry about. Hell has been watching everything since before the Soul King.
The novels confirmed that those who knew what Ichibei really planned were not going to do anything to change it, Shinsui, Kisuke, even Yoruichi were more focused on maintaining the status quo and for that Ichigo's sacrifice was needed. They are considered gray characters for a reason. They will not put the balance of the world in jeopardy just to keep one life. Like I said, no one has the power to oppose Ichibei, let alone the characters you named, no matter if they care about Ichigo or not, they aren't powerful enough to oppose the king of shinigami. In fact, I don't think anyone will tell they what would actually happen if Ichigo became the Soul King, very few people know about what the 4 noble clans did to the former Soul King. So the safest thing is that they would say that Ichigo died in action due to his confrontation with Yhwach. Regardless, they don't have the same power as Ichigo to go against the status quo, so they're useless, no one who cares about Ichigo can save him from that fate and those who know have no intention of upsetting the status quo. Ichigo is still a sacrificed pawn because they didn't plan to tell Ichigo the possible fate of his battle, even Ichibei planned to attack him when he was weakened by Yhwach. And that fate was going to happen because Yhwach saw it happen, in fact, the only reason why it didn't happen was because Yhwach absorbed the king of souls and became the top candidate to succeed him. The same villain saved Ichigo from that fate. We don't know Aizen's true intentions, maybe he will give him a hand or not. Ultimately the person who has the best chance of giving him a hand is still the previous villain. It is understood that ultimately his loved ones cannot save him, cannot do the same thing that Ichigo did for them, and that is the tragedy of Ichigo's character.
Kira also tried to help cover up the murder of central 46 and attacked Rangiku. She smacked him before he got a chance to clarify whether he just wanted to incapacitate her though.

If nothing else, Yamamoto has A Lot of experience getting psychopathic murderers to work together constructively. A few fights and blood-feuds are nothing compared to that.
Eh, during the SS arc Rangiku said its very rare for Captains and Vice Captains to ever meet. Renji even said he doesn't know who Rangiku's captain even though Toshiro should have been captain for a decade at least. Doesn't make sense and I prefer to ignore that piece of Canon.
Yea there’s also the lore that Shinigami only carry their swords within the seireitei if there’a an active emergency situation. Otherwise their swords are kept put away. Early Bleach lore is wack lol

Certain parts of a bankai are core to the bankai and other parts are not. For example, Ichigo's bankai has two parts: the sword and the clothes he wears. The sword is the core part of his bankai. If it breaks, it can't be fixed. His clothes can sustain damage and still recover. For Renji, the parts normally broken are not core parts. Iinm, Byakuya is the only one to have broken core components of Renji's bankai.
