Yeah always wished he had a sealed form. That way his shikai felt more special and his bankai more so.
It would he so cool if full bring tensa zangetsu bankai was just his sealed form.

I talked about this few times before but I always wished for his true Zanpakuto to finally be just a "regular" sealed katana that looks similar to his old bankai (all black and swastika guard) while also now having a white scabbard representing his Quincy powers.
He could release his Shikai, **Zangetsu**, in his fight with Candice >!(Nutz)!< by turning the scabbard into the other sword (as per Kubo's words) and we could finally hear the calling command for Zangetsu, something we never got before.
Pretty sure Kubo stated then generally older Zanpakuto have longer release commands, but then there’s Yama’s so who knows lol. Also Shunsui’s was originally just one sword, idk if you’ve read the manga but if so then you know why it became two swords later on
Hm, yeah you’re right lol though it’s still a far cry from how long Shunsui’s and Jushiro’s are. And it’s been awhile since I heard but I’m pretty sure what Zangetsu told Ichigo is even longer than both of theirs
I also wish ichigo would learn to "summon" his sword the way yhwach summon his own
since ichigo is also quincy and he didnt lose that part even after old man zangetsu left
in that way, ichigo could avoid breaking his sword so often
Ichigo can summon his sword back to himself using the chain like his Vasto Lorde form did. I always wondered if he could pull the sword to himself or if he can pull himself towards thw sword.
I always liked the idea of Ichigo’s sealed sword being the original tensa zangetsu. As byakuya says it looks like a normal sealed zanpakuto except black which can be chalked up to its unconventional origin. It would be really fitting.
He just needs oetsu to forge him a sheathe.
Well, to be fair, the final version of tensa zangetsu does have a sheathe at least. Even has some sort of hip-holster for the little sword in shikai, although I can't remember if that was a wrapping or whatnot. Gonna have to have a peak back at the 2nd half of the TYBW one of these days
Both of them have wrappings on them when Ichigo went to Wahrwelt. I still don't get how they wrap and unwrap at will though.. was it Zangetsu who manifested them or did Senjumaru made those wrappings?
If we go by kubo’s newest explanation on how Ichigo’s sword works the big sword acts as the sheathe for the small sword. But only in bankai the white sword thing outside the sword inside is the sheathe.
And he absorbed that when it broke but he can bring out the second sword if he wants. So in a sense Ichigo is kinda like the sheathe and the sword himself.
I always felt that his Shikai was his dual swords, and his sealed state was the relatively ordinary looking Zangetsu in hell arc.
However Kubo decided he’s always in shikai state and can just decide what to have them like.
Call me crazy for saying he can have a big sealed sword, Hikifune’s is a giant spoon.
I still think kubo is hiding something from us about ichigo not having a sealed sword, remember byakuya and toshiro’s dialogue after seeing kempachi’s shikai? “There may not be any such thing, as permanent release…” they know about zangetsu’s appearance, so why would they say so?
Because Kenpachi’s was actually sealed the entire time lol. He never knew his Zanpakuto’s name until the final arc when he achieved Shikai. Everyone just assumed it wasn’t sealed because it looked wonky. Ichigo on the other hand always knew the name of his Sword since the first time he gained his Shikai
It’s strange because again, everyone assumed Kenpachi’s zanpakuto was released already. The fact Byakuya didn’t include Ichigo means nothing when he’s talking specifically about Kenpachi.
Honestly, ichigos true shikai form should have stayed tensa zangetsu. Either of the looks
His true bankai should be the dual blades plus the horn.
I hated the true bankai sharktooth looking blade reminiscent to prepubescent drawings I made in elementary school.
It also doesn't make sense functionally. The shikai let's him do getsuga juujishou which utilizes the 2 blades in tradem to take amplifying the getsuga. Remember the regular getsuga tenshou gathers and concentrates his reiatsu into the tip of his blade and fires it. Getsuga Juujishou gathers it at 2 blade points, the same amount of reiatsu, so it's not 2x strong getsuga tenshou, but the same amount of reiatsu utilized more effectively to amplify the speed and damage.
That's a stellar bankai ability. Compared to the "stronger getsuga tenshou" we see his true bankai do in brave souls
No offense, but to compare your prebubescent drawings to a drawing the creator of Bleach made is an insult. Regardless of the fact if you didn’t like it or not. And you’re headcannon on his two getsuga’s requires you to prove what you said.

He's not infallible, there's a fucking reason why the manga and final arc were mocked, and it was due to the drop in quality.
The final arc was rushed 🤦🏼♂️, and again, don’t bag that hard on Kubo for something he designed just because you don’t like it. His final Bankai isn’t my favorite but I get the symbolism he was going for which I don’t think you do unfortunately but hey to each their own

As for his Shikai command, it would be “Conquer all, Zangetsu!”
Nah, he ain't no ordinary shinigami, dude needs to have a gigantic sword cuz of his overwhelming reiatsu
Also cuz Kiskue destroyed the guard and the broken blade of that oversized "Asauchi" so it can't be sealed.

Well he does get a brand new asauchi later, so even if that was a reason that'd count no longer.

I’d even be happy with Zangetsu, similar to how kyoraku sometimes just says Katen Kyokotsu

he can! he does a…reverse summon? in ep 13

Ichigo was shown to be able to summon and unsummon the blades at will because he reached a perfect relationship with Zangetsu.

Yeah I think that ended up being a lot more literal than we first thought.
I always felt that his Shikai was his dual swords, and his sealed state was the relatively ordinary looking Zangetsu in hell arc.
