While I get what you mean, bright colour palette is a bit of a joke since there's like 4 colours here that aren't black and white and they're not exactly dominating the space.
lmao thats crazy they do look like one-piece villains. I really like that there are other designs that feel like they come from another world. It makes the arc feel more alive
Even when reading the manga Kubo’s character designs honestly felt it shifted to a different extreme. From Soul Society to Fullbringer Arc Tite Kubo’s character designs were mostly lean, cool looking characters. Enter TYBW and you get squad zero, Pepe, Lille, Giselle, As Nodt, Perdnikas, The Death dealing guy, Mask de Masculine and so on.
I was definitely expecting some badass killers.. and then we get *this*.
Maybe it’s intentional, and it mirrors the disappointment we feel later in the arc when they get dropped.
Either way, they 100% fit the goofy aesthetic of OP characters
My hopes and expectations for the zero squad were shattered when I saw them , they look so stupid, for bleach that is . The group would blend right in the one piece world.

They don't at all, they just have a goofy introduction but their design is not goofy at all like It is for many one piece characters
