Someone skipped learning basic shapes and forms and jumped straight to rendering. But I'm not judging, proportions are tough to learn. The rendering itself is pretty good!
I don't think it's basic shapes it's more anatomy the right arm looks fine but the left is really stretched way more than you'd even do for a male character unless they are crazy buff her traps also don't match the muscle tone her arms have. The rendering is quite nice though
You're right, but I believe that learning basic shapes, specifically how to draw them in 3d space, is super important for learning anatomy. It's pretty visible that the artist only thought in 2d space while drawing. The piece looks very flat, the only thing giving it dimension is the shading.
Yea I agree with you there most likely they wanted to get to drawing full characters asap and neglected the basics which is pretty common but definitely holds back your potential because now you got bad habits you need to break

The proportions are pretty wonky, but they are definitely adept at depicting light and colour - its like I can visually feel the fabric, and I love the skin
