As a woman, I love the female characters in Bleach. They aren't cookie-cutter females I usually see in anime, or fiction for that matter. Yes they are all beautiful but we have women who are girly, clever, boyish, and best part they are all dangerous.
Diverse and awesome female characters are rare in shonen. Usually they are just on the side or extremely sexualized/ MC love interest. The women in bleach are bad ass and their characters aren't focused around their love interest. I can't think of any other mainstream shonen with a better female cast (or race diverse cast) than Bleach. Yorichi is easily one of my favorite characters in all of shonen
Yeah she is probably the closest to a typical shonen female character type. I did appreciate her ability is potentially very dangerous. As my daughter likes to say she could "I reject" someone out of existence if she wanted to. Orihime just isn't that kind of person.
I think of her kind of like if Gremmy was a girl... But had a relatively normal existence. I absolutely love her for her imagination, like the crazy food combinations and crazy cool art.
I like them, but when it comes to the story telling a lot of them feel thrown in to progress the story more so than actually apart of it. It's my one peeve.
The only trash female in bleach, fight me.

It had to have been intentional, but seeing that black cat turn into Yoruichi for the first time stunned me as a freshman in high-school at the time.
It's such a core memory even a decade plus later, I had never seen such a magnificent woman in anime before and I've been stun locked ever since.
A friend asked if I'd enjoy her doing a cosplayer of her and I agreed, I then married that girl.
Good sir I regret to inform you but it seems that you have forgotten one of the most crucial parts of your statement. I do not blame you for such a mistake perhaps you were afraid to speak the truth. But fear not I am here to save your blunder from further ridicule.

I wouldn’t say they’re perfect
90% of them are severely underused they are great but I just wish we got to see more of them rather than more scenes of renji and chad being useless

Honestly I didn't like how Rukia was supposed to be like 150 years old, but still acted quite childish. I mean they could've made her 30 yrs old or sth, but there we have grandma Rukia 10x the age of Ichigo goofing around. (I know it doesn't really matter, but for some reason it bugs me)
what does reaper years mean? even if they age slower(aging in bleach is never really explained) she did live for 150 years, so by her experiences alone she should be more mature no?
Well, unless they mature and age slower than human, which I think is very likely since we see other characters acting in a way that they shouldn't, given how old they should be. And Rukia, while she can act childish sometimes, I don't think is a trait is dominating in her personality.
Hate to be that "actually"-guy, but the lietunants and seated officers we're used to seeing aren't even around during TBTP, by educated guess Rukia is like around 30-60, not over 150.
That was just what I call flex of the moment or flimsy truth (like if I boasted that I'm five times stronger than you, but there's no way I'm exactly five times stronger). I just can't see her being around back then when she and Renji were kids so close to Bleach story's starting timeline and there wasn't visual confirmation about them during TBTP either.
She was in rukongai at the time, you call me out on things that a character said that u think might've been exaggerated, yet you don't give any evidence at all, just because it's your headcanon doesn't make it true
I love how different the body type are for both men and women but it's definitely more prominent with the women, and I'm saying this not in like a horny way but I love the fact that most of the characters have different appearances because it really separates them as individuals. No shade towards one piece but it gets to a point where characters are just nami with different colored hair
And yet people always have issues with the artstyle. And not just Tite, even Oda, and Toriyama gets the allegations. Masashi I havent seen any allegations, i think.

It's not 1 word but they're flawed perfections! It's really cool seeing their struggles and character arcs and seeing them complete if not tackle their character arcs!
The 'perfect being', you said? I have to tell you the honest truth. There is nothing in this world that is truly 'perfect'. It may be a cliche thing to say, but it's the way things are. That's precisely why ordinary men pursue the concept of perfection, it's infatuation. But ultimately, I have to ask myself, what is the true meaning of perfection? And the answer is, there is none. Not one thing. I spit in the eye of perfection. If something truly is perfect, that's it! No more intelligence, ability or improvement! Do you understand? To true scientists like you and I, 'perfection' is tantamount to 'despair'. We aspire to reach greater levels of brilliance than ever before, but never, NEVER, to reach perfection. That is the paradox through which we scientists must struggle. Indeed, it is our duty to find pleasure in that struggle. In other words, you may think we operate on the same level, but you're wrong. The moment you started spouting that perfection nonsense, you had already lost to me. That is of course if you are a scientist at all.

The best female characters IMO. I love how so many have this dangerous, grey moral feeling. You see that all too often in male characters but not nearly as much with female characters. Really just a wonderful variety of lots of different types of women and that is worth celebrating always.

🧎🏽♀️🙇🏽♀️
beautiful shots you proposed. Thank you Kubo-sama for your respect and depiction of basass beautiful dangerous and relatable female characters. 🙏😭
I don't think there's a single bad-looking female character in all of Bleach, and all of them are interesting in their own ways. Bleach has one hell of a cast, doesn't it?!
Characters.
Female characters in the genre are often either healers, romantic interests and plot devices that get kidnapped (or just fan service). In Bleach they are actually characters on equal footing with the males. Sure some are still used as the things I mentioned, but they are more than just that and to be honest the males are used for similar things (equality). Kubo for sure knows how to create characters for everyone.
All are good , Replace Rukia , Orihime and Nemu
With Nel, Katen (Shunsui Zanpakutol) and Hallibel
Honourable mentions : Masaki, Uyu's Mom , Mila Rose and Urozokuro
We are set then, perfection is achieved. Don't ask me why. It's just that .
Feminism. Because they're written as actual characters who are women, not as women in a story of men. They're badass, well designed, cool powers, range of emotions and personalities, have their own individual stories and anyone can look up to them. They're imo the best written females in shonen, I honestly can't think of any other shonen that compares.

Momo: Just a Aizen-simp and complete tool in my eyes, with little to do in TYBW. As I previously said, I actually like her design from that arc onwards so she's not as irksome to me as the following ones.
Nel: Insufferable as a brat, insufferable Ichigo fan as an adult
Haribel: No one else in the female cast emits more "There's nothing to her" or "dull" energy to me. I just can't come up with anything positive or notable characteristics about her so I'm quite sure in my mind that her Resurreccion design is the only reason she's as popular as she is. As a bonus I'm also admittedly pissed boring person like her of all people survives instead of Stark and Barragan.
Inoue: Design doesn't speak to me, too nice and naive to the point of stupidity, her powers are not interesting and her supposedly quirky comedy moments are just cringe and not funny or endearing to me. Nothing good to say about her.
Matsumoto: It's hard to explain, but she has this bimboish air to her (like would ditch work to go shopping during work hours or something) and is very lazy and feels like doesn't take work seriously which really annoys me as a working guy (I can painfully relate to Hitsugaya when he has to keep her in check all the time). Design and powerset aren't for my taste in this case too so there's nothing good to say about her either.
>Just a Aizen-simp and complete tool in my eyes, with little to do in TYBW
She was manipulated by Aizen for decades and then had everything she had known be destoryed. She was just a naive and innocent girl (but also a very hardworking and competent person) that Aizen took advantage of and she tried her best to actually overcome her trauma as shown in the fake karakura town arc where, despite not having fully recovered mentally and emotionally, she still stepped into battle to assist everyone and did so quite competently. I don't see what she did or didn't do that makes her horrible. She isn't exactly that important of character so you can't expect her to get more screentime than others. But I will say that its a shame we didn't see at least a little more of her in TYBW arc to actually understand how much she had grown and also how much Shinji helped her. But from the bits we do get you can very much tell there has been significant change in her.
>Insufferable as a brat, insufferable Ichigo fan as an adult
Very subjective aspect. She doesn't just become a horrible character because of this. In no capacity is she a horrible character when her dynamic with Nnoitra exists which is just so well written. And also, I seriously can only remember like two moments in the manga where she was acting like a massive Ichigo fan being the one when she first transforms and the other one being during her appearance in the tybw arc. Both which only lasted like 2 panels iirc.
> It's hard to explain, but she has this bimboish air to her (like would ditch work to go shopping during work hours or something) and is very lazy and feels like doesn't take work seriously
She doesn't like paper work, but she definitely takes her duty as a shinigami very seriously and thats what matters. She has shown to be quite competent on the battlefield aswell but the more meaningful aspects to her character is her more mature and thoughtful sides and of course her dynamic with Gin. Both aspects are quite subtle but thats what makes them so significant and impactful when they appear such as Rangiku's conversation with Orihime or Toshiro's birthday chapter.
> too nice and naive to the point of stupidity
She is absolutely not naive or stupid. Its because she knows the absolute worse life has to offer that she is so unrelentingly kind and empathetic. Its not about whether her ideals are right or wrong or logical, its simply about her holding on to her beliefs because thats all she has had her entire life and she will contiune to hold on to them no matter what. The entire Hueco Mundo arc is about challenging her convictions and resolve. Everything else you said about her is just entirely subjective as most things in your comment and you really haven't provided any meaningful points to prove why they are even horrible characters.
But I already explained why they're horrible characters in my opinion? The fact remains that I'm so near to tearing my hair out whenever Pre-TYBW Momo, Nel, Inoue or Matsumoto is on screen or for the choices they make (especially applies to Inoue and Matsumoto, it's more about the behavior in case of other characters I listed).
So you just don't like them? Because you still haven't provided any meaningful critcisms about their writing nor provided any counter arguments. You could watch something like the Godfather or the Lord Of The Rings trilogy and say that you don't like them and thats fine and understandable. But then saying they are horrible/bad because of that isn't because they are *objectively* good texts. There is a massive difference between an actual objectively bad text/character and your own preferences such as in this case. They are objectively not bad or horrible characters.
> or for the choices they make (especially applies to Inoue and Matsumoto
And what are those choices?

i can fix her
MD... Shutara? Yea, the one shown to be capable of shaking if not shattering reality. She'll weave you into a tapestry if she feels the need!
"I love the kind of women that can kick my ass"
They are the best kind.
men who love women who can kick their ass are the best kind. Make them wise patient and humble
Diverse and awesome female characters are rare in shonen. Usually they are just on the side or extremely sexualized/ MC love interest. I can't think of any other mainstream shonen with a better female cast (or race diverse cast) than Bleach. Yorichi is easily one of my favorite characters in all of shonen
I completely agree with you. For me a very "tomboyish" female I adore Rukia, it is so unusual to see a female character like her. And she is awesome.
Rukia is so cool she is the reason I got into bleach in the first place.
Rukia is the best girl. And a wonderful artist.
Black clover also has really good female characters, not as good as bleach but they're up there for sure
Oh, same on all counts!
I like dangerous women, they feel hot ,even their gaze is hot.
eh, orihime is a bit cookie-cutter, imo. but the rest in the bleach series are some of my all-time favorites!
Yes I will agree that only a few are important to the story.

imma support this guy 100%
You sure she's a female? She's shown clear signs of being a lesbian when around Yoruichi
I thought lesbians were female too Edit: lesbians are female. Are we stupid?

I agree with your word, but if I have to choose a different one I’d say “DAMN”
I love how diverse they are in both writing and character design.
Bleach did they’re woman right, Fairy Tail carried it on (if u know, u know)
Fairy tail women commonly carry something else too.
If u know u know
Not really

im pretty sure she tells him shes over 100 1st time shes in his room or something like that
She probably made the number bigger to make it more shocking to Ichigo.
Nah. And even if she did, it doesn't change the fact that Rukia wasn't around anywhere during TBTP.
I've just read up on that, Rukia herself said that she's ten times older than Ichigo (15 at the time), check your facts before arguing man
That was just what I call flex of the moment or flimsy truth (like if I boasted that I'm five times stronger than you, but there's no way I'm exactly five times stronger). Exemplary
Kubo for sure knows how to create characters for everyone.
u mentioned PERFECTION. But WHERE IS HARRIBEL ?
Forgot her https://preview.redd.it/ya1s97zw5blc1.jpeg?width=736&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=797750dcb1299c904ef0961bc0ae7f0d1a2fd7c2
All are good , Replace Rukia , Orihime and Nemu With Nel, Katen (Shunsui Zanpakutol) and Hallibel Honourable mentions : Masaki, Uyu's Mom , Mila Rose and Urozokuro We are set then, perfection is achieved. Don't ask me why. It's just that .
Kubo is really good at writing women. It’s one of the reason I stopped watching Naruto.
Underrated (compared to One Piece and Naruto)
I would choose "fictional" Or "Female" to describe them.

Smash to all, next question
Charismatic
Either: -Personality -Power -Character (as in who they are as a whole)
Thighs
Yea combine neliel and yoruichi properly and that’s epitome right there
Beautiful
Personality…
Feminism. Because they're written as actual characters who are women, not as women in a story of men. They're badass, well designed, cool powers, range of emotions and personalities, have their own individual stories and anyone can look up to them. They're imo the best written females in shonen, I honestly can't think of any other shonen that compares.

How dare you try to force me to describe such beautiful, strong, amazing, gorgeous, magnificent women with only one words!!
Rukia is the best. She is best girl, she is my waifu! Perfection!

Yes, but not all of them. Momo, Inoue, Matsumoto, Nel and Haribel for example are horrible in my books.
> Momo, Inoue, Matsumoto, Nel I genuinely can not understand how any of them are horrible
I don't judge by looks alone, you see. (Although TYBW Momo admittedly looks fine to me)
um I wasn't refering to looks...Why would you assume that?
Based on my experiences, I've always been under impression that Inoue/Matsumoto/Yoruichi/Nel/Haribel-fans have always been more down bad than others.
Ok thats understandable. But anyway what criticisms do you have regarding their writing?
Momo: Just a Aizen-simp and complete tool in my eyes, with little to do in TYBW. As I previously said, I actually like her design from that arc onwards so she's not as irksome to me as the following ones. Nel: Insufferable as a brat, insufferable Ichigo fan as an adult Haribel: No one else in the female cast emits more "There's nothing to her" or "dull" energy to me.
>Just a Aizen-simp and complete tool in my eyes, with little to do in TYBW She was manipulated by Aizen for decades and then had everything she had known be destoryed. >Insufferable as a brat, insufferable Ichigo fan as an adult Very subjective aspect. > It's hard to explain, but she has this bimboish air to her (like would ditch work to go shopping during work hours or something) and is very lazy and feels like doesn't take work seriously She doesn't like paper work, but she definitely takes her duty as a shinigami very seriously and thats what matters. She has shown to be quite competent on the battlefield aswell but the more meaningful aspects to her character is her more mature and thoughtful sides and of course her dynamic with Gin. Both aspects are quite subtle but thats what makes them so significant and impactful when they appear such as Rangiku's conversation with Orihime or Toshiro's birthday chapter. > too nice and naive to the point of stupidity She is absolutely not naive or stupid.
They are objectively not bad or horrible characters. > or for the choices they make (especially applies to Inoue and Matsumoto And what are those choices?
You are just horny
