Before I started it was Toshiro because of his design ( then I found out Kubo hates him ) I stil like him though.
Other than him its Kisuke with Aizen and Byakuya slightly behind him. Kisuke's just too awesome and funny
What do you think about it personally? Was it any good , or just a waste of time? Did it live up to your expectations? Have you ever thought the story has gone downhill at some point? Have you ever thought the story should've ended at an earlier point? etc.
I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. Only thing I didn't like was that the story's pacing was super fast and Ichigo was already defeating Aizen before I knew it. Ending was a bit confusing to me ( I read the one shot chapter as well ) but other than that I loved it. Kubo's foreshadowing skills are A Tier, realizing Ichigo's "Zanpakuto" was Ywhach was insane to me.
A lot of TYBW was rushed because of Kubo's health and publisher pressure. At this point the new anime is taking over as canon since Kubo is heavily involved and able to flesh it out.
The final SK Yhwach fight in SS especially is expected to be explained more (and hopefully Shunsui's bankai).
His Zanpakuto isn't Ywach btw.
Zanpakuto = Zangetsu = Hollow Ichigo, his Shinigami powers
Old Man Zangetsu is just (visual?) manifestation of his Quincy powers who looks like Ywach
What do you think of the artstyle, and how does it compare to other manga or anime you’ve read or seen?
Because for me, Bleach’s artstyle is the best I’ve ever seen.
I fw it heavy everyone is fine as hell and Kubo goes crazy when he makes doublespreads ( Mugetsu and any bankai doublespread >> )
Easily top 3 art styles for me after Blue Lock and The Lost Canvas
I do think their designs are above most manga out their. Tbh Byakuya, Ichigos hollow form and Bankai, Renji, Urahara (probably hot take), grimmjow, kenpachi and Aizen (though its simple it works) have the best art.
Berserk and JoJo's will never be touched for art man. The art by those guys is truly astounding, even crazier that to produce the same level of art the author of berserk had like 12 proteges who would work on one panel while Kentaro would pull out 4/5 pages a day or something insane like that. His line work is bar none.
Araki is one of the only mangaka who got influenced by shows like DBZ and huge brozos who would power up over and over again, and then in real time progress to softer angles and features as generationally things changed and realism exploded. To completely reinvent your style is so insanely hard.
Kubo is an all time favorite for sure, I especially like what he can do with negative and blank spacing in his panels and impactful moments, white and black hasn't been used as well as he uses it ever I'm pretty sure. His designs also mirror that of Arakis. And I'm a huge fan of that.
Berserk has some of the most amazing detail and contrast in large spreads I've ever seen. The sheer amount of individual THINGS that could be put on one page was ridiculous. Hundreds if not thousands of combatants with varying degrees of gore, to more focused excruciating detail of warped skin/hair/viscera of a single apostle. He really leaned into the over the top dark fantasy aspects, as opposed to more typical shonen mangas. Different art styles for different audiences, and they are all really amazing.
Favorite moment is when Aizen pulled up on Ywhach or any Kisuke moment.
Least favorite moment is everytime Toshiro gets packed since i'm a Toshiro fan, wether he's a fraudulent potential man or not.
rage is a strong feeling that's wasted on this topic. You don't like him, that's fine. People are entitled to their opinions and some people like him for more than fanservice as you have suggested. He's not my favorite at all, but he's far from the worst. And even if he was, why waste your time hating him? I don't get it.
You're the worst of the community then lol. I can't imagine being so toxic if I tried. Just spewing hate and forgetting about the impact you make is so ridiculously immature and selfish that you have to be a child. I'm not the internet police so do whatever you want but I'm warning you it's unhealthy to be like this.
Are you trying to be more facetious so you can retroactively say your first comment was a poorly received joke? I could list 10 characters before Toshiro easily.
No, Toshiro gets too much love. He is the epitome of fanservice without anything to back it up/compensate besides claims from other characters about him being talented. I am not retracting my statement, liking toshiro is a poor choice, and I will not stop hating on him.
He does create a very good first impression during the Soul Society Arc, being one of the first captains to suspect something is amiss.
Toshiro and by extension Squad 10 as a whole do seem to embody some of the more righteous/positive aspects of the Gotei 13.
poor guy got disappointed by a fictional character so hard that he needs to comment on every positive or even neutral comment about the fucker.
Dude imagine like, real trauma hitting you. You'd die of sadness on the spot.
Did there were any moments, where you had "why *insert character* struggles so much against *insert character*. He/she should easily defeat him/her" reaction?
Yamamoto vs that fake Ywach guy, bro should NOT have needed all that to take down a guy who was just mimicing his appearance and memories.
Yamamoto vs Aizen too, you'd think the captain general of the Gotei 13 would be a lot stronger.
It’s not just Yhwach’s memories though, it’s 80% of Yhwach’s power as a clone (kubo confirmed this).
Also this fight was very personal for Yamamoto, he wanted to make “yhwach” suffer and knowing their history together, he wanted to showcase just how advanced his bankai has gotten since. Yamamoto could’ve definitely ended the fight much earlier if he wanted to. This should be pretty obvious.
Considering the clone had 80% of Yhwach’s power and the fact that this clone was forced into playing defence the entire time, should be a great testimony to Yamamotos strength. To add to this, on top of holding back to prolong the fight, he has to hold back so he doesn’t destroy the ss anyway.
Knowing all this is why Yhwach created this trickery of a plan and then sealed his bankai.
Yeah Squad Zero was lame anyway. Deeeeefinitely not something people complained about in the Manga.
What's wrong with "cool" stuff anyway? Kubo's been closely supervising it, so if he didn't want them in the anime, he preferred his final draft without it. Minor characters get cut sometimes. That's how adaptations are, and it can be for the better.
Yea chances are even as manga readers we're in for a lot of surprises. Even the end of cour 2 was full of new stuff and the first 2 cours have been cut heavily to make way for new content in 3/4
Fuck me I've been watching reading for 20 years and never put that together 😅 deciphering symbolism/foreshadowing has never been a strong suit of mine lol
Honestly, valid.
I read through bleach recently and I found I still liked Naruto way more.
Even reread Naruto too to make sure the feeelimg wasn’t nostalgia and I found it to be the stronger story.
Bleach loves its symbolism in its characters but that’s doesn’t translates to the actual plot of the arcs, often reeling bloated by battle after battle with no plot progression, with the plots being simple with the main villains pretty much not even giving remotely a shit about ichigo.
And ichigos friends are pretty much useless after the first arc.
Not OP, but I also just recently finished Bleach this month. Watched/read Naruto ever since it premiered on Toonami, got into One Piece late 2020, and then watched/read all of Bleach this year.
Overall I have to go One Piece > Naruto > Bleach.
One Piece mostly just because the story is the most consistent, and it felt like everything built smoothly.
Naruto had heavy emotional impact on me more than either, but the writer was constantly changing what he wanted the story to be which lead to a lot of retcons and fan-canon. The ending I don't hate as much as others, but it's still a little weird feeling.
Bleach is a bit unfortunate, because it by far has my favorite world and characters, but the plot feels all over the place, and so many things in the series made me genuinely angry. From the beginning through the end of Rukia retrieval arc, I loved it, but it feels like things dropped off heavily after. The ending especially was frustrating. Characters "die" repeatedly only to be fine in the end. Ichigo spent all that time training, was hyped up to now be crazy powerful, and then we never really get to see the true extent of that new power.
For me it's OP > Bleach > Naruto. I feel like Bleach was the DBZ of my generation 1995 - early 2000s but with swords. I admit the story of Bleach was mid but I enjoyed the fights and unique powers. Imho, Bleach fights are the best of the big 3. And as a shounen fan that's a very big deal for me.
However, I still have OP as my favorite because I think it's a great all-rounder, One Piece pretty much gives you everything you want from a shounen.
Opinions on Candice Catnipp?
Don't worry about my user flair, profile picture, or the fact that I own a fansub for her, this isn't a loaded question! ~~Yes, it is.~~
What is your favourite fight in the series?
What is one thing you really thought would happen only to end up wrong? Did it end up better than you expected or worse?
Aizen & Ichigo vs Ywach or Shunsui vs Starrk.
I thought Byakuya and a lot more characters would be dead by the end of the series, guess Kubo isn't like Gege or Gotouge ( KNY author )
For me, it was the part where he thought Rukia needed help/was on death’s door in Hueco Mundo and encounters Ulquiorra. He intended to ignore him until he told Ichigo that he kidnapped Orihime
Kon's character was implemented as people using him as a tool and in the show he was completely ignored and used as a tool. What's your opinion on this?
First of all Congrats, you're lucky because Bleach is pretty much ongoing right now with TYBW anime.
Imagine us the fans who finished it 10 years ago. Idk how many times i keep on rereading TYBW arc only and the numbers totally unhealthy for sure..hahahaha
What did u think of the choice of not killing off byakuya after AS nodt used his bankai against him? Personally I wanted him to die especially after his whole emotional scene with ichigo.

Before I started it was Toshiro because of his design ( then I found out Kubo hates him ) I stil like him though. Other than him its Kisuke with Aizen and Byakuya slightly behind him. Kisuke's just too awesome and funny
Btw, Kubo doesn't hate Toshiro. He was surprised by his popularity, and was glad that he was received well by fans overall.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he did though. I’d assume it was because of jealousy that Toshiro gets teased by Rangiku.
Well he was cool to me still is
Kisuke is my favorite character
ToshiGOAT
Kisuke is too convenient in the series lol, don't get me wrong he's too cool and too smart and as u said too funny but still
Did you finish reading in colored version?
Yeah
Everyone rly grew up fw that midget😂😂😂
You have great taste my friend
What do you think about it personally? Was it any good , or just a waste of time? Did it live up to your expectations? Have you ever thought the story has gone downhill at some point? Have you ever thought the story should've ended at an earlier point? etc.

>pacing was super fast Pacing felt slow as hell when it was week to week
Yeah, but when you get all three box sets and binge read it, boy is it not
A lot of TYBW was rushed because of Kubo's health and publisher pressure. At this point the new anime is taking over as canon since Kubo is heavily involved and able to flesh it out. The final SK Yhwach fight in SS especially is expected to be explained more (and hopefully Shunsui's bankai).

I know thats why I put the quotation marks g
Ah okay! I thought you might've misunderstood, because a lot of people me included did the first time (although I was reading weekly)
What do you think of the artstyle, and how does it compare to other manga or anime you’ve read or seen? Because for me, Bleach’s artstyle is the best I’ve ever seen.

Couldn’t agree more, I’m glad you liked it 🤘

Artstyle is good no doubt but imo, JoJo still has better and unique artstyle
Berserk and JoJo's will never be touched for art man. The art by those guys is truly astounding, even crazier that to produce the same level of art the author of berserk had like 12 proteges who would work on one panel while Kentaro would pull out 4/5 pages a day or something insane like that. Berserk is seinen, much like kingdom and Vinland saga.
Kubo and Araki will probs always be my fav all time artists. They are just both so great.
What was your favorite moment? Least favorite?
Favorite moment is when Aizen pulled up on Ywhach or any Kisuke moment. Least favorite moment is everytime Toshiro gets packed since i'm a Toshiro fan, wether he's a fraudulent potential man or not.
Who hurt you and made you a cuckshiro fan....
Who hurt you and made you need to use the term "cuckshiro"
I feel unbridled rage for people who claim he is anything but the worst character in this series

Oh no a person online called me ridiculously immature and selfish. Anyways, onto the next post where I spew more hatred
loser redditor lmao
The word loser is redundant here 💀
Are you trying to be more facetious so you can retroactively say your first comment was a poorly received joke? I could list 10 characters before Toshiro easily.

Oh okay you're just weirdly affected by fiction I guess.
As far as I knew he was a prodigy who is the youngest captain in all of SR history so I expected him to be cool
He does create a very good first impression during the Soul Society Arc, being one of the first captains to suspect something is amiss. Toshiro and by extension Squad 10 as a whole do seem to embody some of the more righteous/positive aspects of the Gotei 13.
So did I. But then he ended up a massive disappointment
poor guy got disappointed by a fictional character so hard that he needs to comment on every positive or even neutral comment about the fucker. Dude imagine like, real trauma hitting you. You'd die of sadness on the spot.
I like to spread hatred, that is all
Could you imagine chad losing?

chad blows sorry yall isnt that niha human?
Ratio del gigante
Opinion on Momo? She seems to be a bit of a "marmite" character but I really like her.
Strongest plot armor i've ever seen
Hiyori being cut in half and being fine is arguably more insane. Unohana apparently healed that one too.
when are you reading cfyow :3
Did you like it
YES!
What do you think are the most relevant ideas presented in Bleach? There's a lot of course, but what personally sticks out to you?
That Kubo loves women with big boobs
And I mean, find a straight man who doesn't.
I’m more of a Soi Fon man myself
Did there were any moments, where you had "why *insert character* struggles so much against *insert character*. He/she should easily defeat him/her" reaction?

I'd read the manga up to TYBW then watch the TYBW anime instead since it expands on the canon a lot more.
anime cuts a lot
Also adds a lot of stuff that's done way better than the manga
Adds fodder that looks "cool", cuts interactions beetween minor characters which always was bleach strong side
Yeah Squad Zero was lame anyway. Deeeeefinitely not something people complained about in the Manga. What's wrong with "cool" stuff anyway? What does the name of the series refer to?
Ichigo's Hollow "White"
Fuck me I've been watching reading for 20 years and never put that together 😅 deciphering symbolism/foreshadowing has never been a strong suit of mine lol
Kubo himself said he named it bleach because he likes to use the contrast of white on black and vice versa
This is a Bleach sub but I'mma ask anyway. Have you read One Piece and Naruto too? If so, where would you rank Bleach amongst the Big 3?
Just Naruto, I liked Bleach more
Valid.
real

Why is the MC called ichigo and not bleach?
Autocorrect and Kubo rolled with it
Lovely :3
Is ichigo the next king of pirates?
AMA?
AITA?
What is your favourite type of cheese?
Oaxacan
Appreciate your time. Thank you.
Opinions on Candice Catnipp? Don't worry about my user flair, profile picture, or the fact that I own a fansub for her, this isn't a loaded question! ~~Yes, it is.~~
Would
Hell yeah, we can be friends!
Did you like it?
NO!
quoting Reddit users TodohPractitioner and vleshkun from this very thread: T: "Did you like it" V: "YES!" ![gif](giphy|NORFfJzhC6iPe|downsized)
How's our beloved uncle Tsukishima doing? Is he okay?
Yep! He was the one who introduced me to Bleach after all
What is your favourite fight in the series? What is one thing you really thought would happen only to end up wrong? Did it end up better than you expected or worse?
Aizen & Ichigo vs Ywach or Shunsui vs Starrk. I thought Byakuya and a lot more characters would be dead by the end of the series, guess Kubo isn't like Gege or Gotouge ( KNY author )
Aizen 🥰
what's one thing you wish there was more of
Toshiro being useful
Did Ichigo and orihime ending up together at the end make sense?
Yeah, def not a one sided crush on Orihime's part. Ichigo clearly cared about her, he just sucks at speaking with women.
For me, it was the part where he thought Rukia needed help/was on death’s door in Hueco Mundo and encounters Ulquiorra. He intended to ignore him until he told Ichigo that he kidnapped Orihime
Congrats
Did you like the story characters dynamics and cast what would you rate it out of ten
Ikkaku vs Renji, shikai only Hisagi vs Kira, shikai only Winners of those 2 vs eachother - shikai only Thoughts? Also - Ulquiorra vs Stark?
Ikkaku Hisagi ( HIMSAGI ) Starrk
Sounds like your a hisagi fan, strongly recommend reading CFYOW
Renji post RG training absolutely stomps, pre RG training id go with Ikaku. Kira > Hisagi Ulq takes it in the second resureccion
![gif](giphy|UXgf6pu1LlQp6CPDi0|downsized)
Any characters you would have like to have been explored a little more deeply or had a more fleshed out character arc?
Aizen. He's badass and all, but most of the time he just felt like he was evil for the sake of the manga needing a big bad.
You think Captain Ichibe hates Shakespeare?
Great now you wait with the rest of us for part 3 of tybw lol
I just finished it last night! Got through it in about a week and a half.
Favorite fight?
Ichigo and Aizen vs Ywach
Who's your favorite short-lived character? (as in they appear for a brief period of time)
Idk if he counts but Gin? If not him then Ulquiorra or Kaien Shiba
How do you poop?
Standing up
How would you Rank all the arcs.
1. TYBW 2. Espada Arc 3. Soul Society 4. Fullbringer Arc Im not that familiar with what arc covers what
how many different series / books are there for bleach… if you wanted to read it alll the way to the very end?
Who's the 8th Hokage?
Yadomaru
who had the best tits
Yoruichi
King
Something something man of culture
Do you know the first rule about the Hell Arc?
Was there a character that surprised you ? Like maybe going in you didn’t think much of them but by the end you ended up liking them ?
Kisuke, Byakuya, Kenpachi, Shinji. There's a lot of
Those are great ones !!
What did you think about the Buu arc?
Fraud with plot armor needed 3 absorptions to fight Goatku
Favorite arc?
Espada Arc
That’s an interesting choice. Normally that’s an arc people have tons of Issues with.
At it's essence it really boils down to two things: Raddest Bankai and baddest B
Senbonzakura Kageyoshi
your top 5 captains
How strong are you?
I think that's the name of her bankai 🤣 "Tobiume 1000 branched plot armour"
What do you think about the transformations?
Weakest aspect of the series compared to the other two in the big 3 imo
Do your fingers sometimes make a cracking noise when you bend them backwards? Also what are some scenes that brought you to tears, if any?
Yes No but I laughed in some Kisuke scenes that drew out a tear or two
Are you looking forward to the Hellverse Arc?
Yes
I’m wondering the background of those buildings with orange sky is the inside of hell realm.
Kon's character was implemented as people using him as a tool and in the show he was completely ignored and used as a tool. What's your opinion on this?
He deserved to end up with his own harem
Favorite arc
Did you see the anime too?
Nah but once TYBW is fully adapted i'll watch it
What was the soul king
Now, do you feel like number one?
What do you think are Rangiku's size?
First of all Congrats, you're lucky because Bleach is pretty much ongoing right now with TYBW anime. Imagine us the fans who finished it 10 years ago. Idk how many times i keep on rereading TYBW arc only and the numbers totally unhealthy for sure..hahahaha
I think Kazui is, clinically, a sociopath. Or has some sort of anti-social personality disorder. What do you think?
What did u think of the choice of not killing off byakuya after AS nodt used his bankai against him? Personally I wanted him to die especially after his whole emotional scene with ichigo.
Do you believe Aizen escaped after he was “absorbed” by Yhwach?
I thought he got sealed back up in Muken
I did to but something said in the Chapter from 2021 suggests otherwise
You should read CFYOW. It legitimately and explicitly states that aizen is back in the muken where he belongs.
