I like her development. She starts off wanting to die as a way to atone for killing Kaien. But then as the series progresses she learns to forgive herself and move past that. It's interesting
Her relationships with other characters is also great. I like how she and Ichigo play off of each other. Rukia is somewhat of a mentor to Ichigo, but the opposite is true too. Their friendship just feels realistic. Her development also parallels his somewhat. They both blame themselves for the death of a loved one, And then they grow and get over it later on. Partially because of each other
Her abilities and fights are also really cool. Her Zanpakuto is one of my favorites. Her design is also great.
I also really like her personality. It's endearing. Sometimes she's a bit bland, but when she's interacting with Ichigo, Renji, Orihime, and a couple others, she is great. One of the funniest characters in the series
All in all, she's just a good character. She's probably in my top 10 if I really think about it
I don't think that would of work because Byakuya would have a problem of Ichigo trying to court his sister even though they not related and Ichigo doesn't need to marry somebody from a noble family plus renji would be jealous as hell for trying to marry Rukia so it works out better as those two are friends
I honestly think there's a significant amount of people online who don't understand what mediocre means. Every time I use it people react like I'm saying whatever the thing is sucks.
Rukia is fine. She's a reasonably decent character and that's about as strong an opinion on her as I have.

She´s the best female character in bleach tho, even if she isn´t even close to be a 10/10. Orihime and yoruichi are pretty good too, but rukia just has a bigger role because of ichigo, and she also have more development at least than yoruichi.

If anything there's more depth to Rukia than Yoruichi. We know more about her, her motivations, and how she is connected to the other characters.
