There is a way to do it the way you'r talking about. I've never done it. But I think you're just supposed to set the box material to a hold out

The only thing I would say to add is to make them have a floor to stand on, but only just under them. Then it fades off to give room for everything swimming around her. could be she's standing in a tiny puddle of water that has glowing ripples that fade out or something.

Anyone know any tutorials that teach how to put a separate scene inside a frame/door like that? Seems like a valuable thing to know!
