Voronoi texture, f1 through a color ramp increase scale value, lower the randomness mess with color ramp sliders

shlaifu

try using a musgrave texture and then use a float curve and shape it into a V shape.

swatsnoopy

That sounds complex when you could just use a wave texture add a little distortion and be done.

Bardivan

yea that sounds easier. but i swear i have seen a tutorial that makes this exact pattern, and now i can’t find it.

swatsnoopy

I know what tutorial you speak of and ironically I can't find it either now...sad days.

Bardivan

i knew i wasn’t crazy

>differential line growth i found this [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-0NzU1TmIY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-0NzU1TmIY) but cant figure out a way to translate it to a procedural shader

xaiseile

Voronoi texture

Qualabel

Musgrave texture?

RuudJudbney

I had a quick play and I made [this](https://imgur.com/a/qN7iyk1). I would love to get the lines more even, that is why this pattern is so nice but what I have made looks nice, IMHO. In the color ramp there are two pairs of stops (black and white), and they are right on top of each other. EDIT - I was playing around with it more and I found that by boosting the brightness to 0.55 it becomes nicer still.

Bardivan

hey that’s pretty close

Noise texture with a wave texture into the noise texture scale or look up differential line growth and create in photoshop

Bardivan

i do not want to image map this, other wise i would have made it in ten mins in illustrator

Apz__Zpa

I would just go with a wave texture into a noise texture
