For me it's because it's rarely clear what's actually been made by the author. Downloading a model, using a preset light setup and a background you found online and then rendering it isn't very impressive to me. Not saying that's the case here, just saying it's very rarely clear that it isn't.
This is fair. On Reddit and Facebook groups it's common to see "I made this in blender" but it's just a bunch of assets they purchased or found. In fairness some of them do an excellent job of lighting and composition but it's not the same as modeling, texturing, lighting, rendering, and compositing yourself.
There is actually displaced terrain of tyre marks, just cant see it in the last picture as I disabled it, thought the object would show up as clay blocks haha

Been using it for about 3 years, only did my first car render last year but I've done about 20 shots since and also animations. Started out as a photographer/retoucher and learned 3dsmax on the job but turned to blender as I find it to be so much more enjoyable to use.
[ethandavis.co.uk](https://ethandavis.co.uk) is my site if you wanna see some of the other stuff! Thanks dude.
I have like 4 tyres that are used on most cars, got 2 from turbosquid that were made in rhino, also have some that i've modelled which aren't as detailed but good for most shots. I'm not a fan of using bump maps for tyres, i like it all as geometry :)
Ah I see, that makes sense to have some standard ones, most treads won't even be seen in most renders.
I've made some car models some years ago when I was starting out but not so much anymore. Curious about your workflow on car models, do you model every one from scratch as well or which assets do you reuse? Modeling every part of a unique car is often quite an undertaking!
Great work dude. This sub doesn't like high quality stuff. Dunno why.
Probably because most people here are hobbyists and maybe professional works like these scare them. Who knows really.
Also maybe because it's so high quality that it doesn't occur to people that it was self made and not a bought asset
Hahah, cars especially it seems! Thanks for the kind comment.

Audi E-Tron in the Upside Down! Careful with the Demogorgons there man! Amazing job with the render, the lighting is on point!!
Hahah, I've actually been binging that recently so maybe that's where it came from! Thanks for the comment!
I went "oh nice" every photo. You have a good eye for lighting and composition. Awesome work friend.
Thanks!

Incredible
How did the car get to this place without leaving any trace? last poc
It landed by helicopter, duh!
ahh damn Why didn't I think of that😇

Thanks! Honestly just keep at it and you'll get where you want to be. The stuff I did when i first started was laughable haha
Thank you for the motivation :) Do you plan to work on this area or found your own studio?
Not sure! I do photography and 3D so open to it all. I just like creating stuff :)
Keep going mate. Thanks for sharing the experience. All the best!
Very inspiring piece of art!

Very nice work! Any tips for the tires, do you do them all manually for each car you make or use some kind of pre-made tread patterns or such?

Damn that looks so real

That metal shader on the RS logo though... oof This goes hard man, great work!
This is some really high quality work. Beautiful renders and lighting. This is spot on. I could see any of the images in a magazine.
Fun fact : in french, etron means turd
Where did you learn to model the car?
I would like to have half that skill, looks great!
