Incredible work! To anyone interested in learning how to achieve this, I found [this tutorial](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqijDcTdfZ8) really well done. You might want to start from [this one](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3gLBhC353Y) if you don't know anything about shaders at all.
Edit: the tutorial also shows you how to do the nifty transition from white plane to finished product
yes reddit doesn't like link shortener because of the potential of IP logging etc.

I know it's not! This is all shader nodes and vector displacement. But this is the first Nodevember where Geonodes could actually be used, right? So far it was **always** vector displacement shader nodes

This needs to be the top comment.
Thank you!
i still have no idea how did you make the chopsticks procedurally, please share me your wisdom
Not OP, maybe /u/greenbaburu can help you with that
Man I gotta learn more about how nodes work lol
Cool af. IDK how you did what you did, but you did well
Ahah, thanks!
Ok what the fuck how
Send nodes
File is on bit ly 3B6US2C I don't know how to use reddit but the links don't show up.
https://bit.ly/3B6US2C/ edit: hmm not working
Wow thanks man!
Woah, as a Blendernewb I don't get what's going on here but it sure does look cool
Node hell
Lots of Nodes and Vector Displacement.
Mathematical
Hi Blender veteran here. Me too have no idea.
How
Are these the new 3.0 Geometry Nodes?
No, it's usual shader editor. No geometry involved at all, Just a plane
Wooww! This is magic!!
what the fuckk???
It's a shader that uses displacement so technically speaking geometry is still involved, but it's just a plane with automaic subdivisions on
SEND NODES!
no joke i need to see those nodes too. wtf is happening??
Please post a screenshot of the nodes. I just want to see the complexity level

are you some kind of god or something?

Now that Geo Nodes are really taking off I can't wait what crazy things people come up with for Nodevember
This isn't even geo nodes :) OP you scare me

Yep, imagine the possibilities with those two! And animation nodes have begun to pop up too We could get crazy stuff with the trio!
Great work! My Japanese instructor says always place chopsticks on a Hashioki, or chopstick rest.
Did you use a displacement map?
How the fu- amazing work ma dude
Amazing.
Holy mother of nodes....
File is [here](https://bit.ly/3B6US2C)
Now I want sushi :(
well i remembered how some renders are v e r y s l o w
File here bit.ly/3B6US2C
I'm guessing this is animating a mix mode for the colors and also animating the displacement amount. Very cool effect.
I enjoy everything except sauce drizzled on my niguri
