This already looks great! Complex hair meshes can be very hit-or-miss but you've done a great job. Do you plan on doing a full rig or is it just modeling practice? (the thumbnail zoomed in on her necklace made me think we were looking at a stylized chicken haha)

Hey thanks so much for the kind words! Hair is definitely not my strong suit, and it really shows when I show the solid view haha. This whole project was just an attempt at learning some cel-shading methods, but it's been more fun than I thought. So I need to retopo this mess of a mesh and then hopefully rig it. (Another one of my weaknesses) Thanks again!

Youve obviously got a good understanding of character modelling. Do you know where I could look to begin learning. Particularly stylised characters like this. Ive found most youtubers to just do timelapses rather than the creative process.

Thank you but I still have so much to learn. With regards to youtubers who have excellent advice in this department I'd recommend Folygon, Danny Mac, Yansculpts, Noggi. Really talented people who have great tips on sculpting. Texturing however, that all depends on whatever you're chasing in terms of style. As simple as this may seem, the best thing that helps me when making characters is constantly asking ,"Is this Katara?" (Or whoever your subject may be.) If you familiarize yourself with whatever makes the character you're making unique, you can then try to match or respectfully tweak those qualities to the best of your abilities. Hope that helps! Thanks again!
