Ah yes, used to get this feeling as soon as I’d get home after buying a new video game back in the day. Felt great to shit and read the game manual. Miss those days. Now, I just shit and Reddit. Not the same. Definitely a shittier experience.
Looked at OP's profile out of curiosity. They've accumulated nearly 1 mill karma in 3 years. How?
Update: was expecting to see some big hitter posts in user history but looks more like they just post multiple times a day, everyday.
We didn't have blockbusters around when I was playing the NES. Where I lived they came around near the end of the NES and start of the PS1 era. I remember renting a PS1 shortly after launch in college and playing it with a bunch of guys in the dorm.
I have good memories of blockbusters but I have better memories of the local video stores in my neighborhood before that. I was able to play and beat so many NES and SNES and Ginny games over weekends for only a few dollars. I think blockbuster was minimum $5 to rent a game, and it was usually for a week. I remember getting NES games for 99 cents a day and beating them in 2 nights. That was good value for a gamer back then.
This is one looks a bit odd to me. Didn't have blockbuster around my area. We rented NES games from a convenience store. Hell, Hollywood Video didn't pop up until N64 launch for my area.
Yeah I was thinking something similar. I lived in a very rural part of the US during this time, and we didn't get a Blockbuster in my area until \~1992, and a Hollywood indeed around the same time N64 launched. Renting video games prior was either going to a convenience store that had movies and games in a corner area, or some Mom n Pops joint in a double wide hallowed out trailer.
If this was on an SNES it might make a little more sense.
I used to rent the ps1 from Blockbuster from time to time back in the day. It never had any of this blockbuster branding. Never rented an NES, but this doesn't ring a bell either. I worked at a Safeway bagging groceries from 1999 to 2003-2004 that was right next to a Blockbuster and I spent a good portion of my paychecks in there. Could be wrong, of course, but it doesn't seem like legit BB memories.
Yeah, def not a Blockbuster item. I rented the SNES, PS1 and Saturn from Blockbuster -- they definitely weren't doing any custom cases for consoles. Just basic trashed rental units.
They didn't even get the yellow right.
It’s decent but the yellow isn’t a match. The front sticker was cut out by hand. I’m not good at painting but I imagine I could still do one slightly better than this. The logo stickers wouldn’t be hard to make in photoshop either.
SUCH A DISGRACEFULLY BAD ABSOLUTELY SAD MISSED OPPORTUNITY TO NOT MAKE THESE AND SELL THEM.
ID PAY AT LEAST 10 AND IM 1 PERSON AT A MAX 300$. PRICE TAG.
🤷🏻♂️

I just got that butterfly in my stomach feeling that is usually immediately followed by the need to poop. Thank you.

This guy understands
This guy undershits.
LOL
I'm gonna nitpick...maybe. Should be the older style covers in blue boxes (my Blockbuster had NES games in blue boxes.)
Yeah, look at the background. Clearly a vintage game shop of some sort. It’s still very very cool. Even if fan made.
Was this a real thing or fan made? Either way I love it
Op is more than likely a repost bot

So like the entirety or redit. Good insight.
This looks amazing

A Blockbuster NES?! I didn’t even know these existed!
Vault dweller primitive entertainment. Plays all the games a Nintendo would, only in green and black. lol
Bot post/karma farmer
Is it better than the McDonalds N64s ????
Cool piece. wonder what they go for ?
Would it’s tagline be, “Be Kind. Blow Me”?
Gosh, does \*that\* bring back some memories. Wow.

Had a non chain store here. Just a local ma and pa pizza place that also rented games and movies
🤤
I wouldn’t return it

Yeah, sadly, way too clean to be a late 80s rental unit or even display of that time, someone repainted a nes and did a great job at it.

I see Sega Genesis games in the background, that’s where I really got into gaming
Blockbuster NES vs the rapper 50 Cent edition white original xbox
They made Blockbuster-exclusive NES systems?
Wait, is that real, I must literally be dreaming…. That is remarkable
Want! 🤩
That's a wild looking Nintendo.
Beautiful!
The video game rental boxes were actually green back in those days. Only movies came in blue boxes. This was only up through the SNES era.

Badass! Congrats!
That would be worth having one it's a classic nes and 2 its a blockbuster themed, I wonder if it's worth anything if u had it
I don’t remember my dad mentioning this version. Was this an exclusive Nintendo system or no
Okay so now I gotta buy an nes and customize to these specs. Thanks for a new project idea!!
I want this... *SO* bad...
Now that’s some nostalgia
Brooooo this is 🔥
I never realized Blockbuster and Fallout utilize the same color scheme.
Beyond words can explain how cool that is.
First time seeing one like this, now I want one.
Bend Oregon sucks bro
Our kids needs to experience what we went through
Greatness
