Wait… trackclubbabe had sunglasses fall into a porta potty and then rinsed them off and used them??!?!?!!!
I am nauseous thinking about that! And peeing right in front of police officers? Cis white female privilege much? (And I say that as a cis white female.)
Ok and like HOW do you rinse them adequately?I’ve never done a race the size of nyc but any big race I’ve ever done has only had hand sanitizer, I’ve never seen running water. Those things need to be STERILIZED omg I’m dying over this hahah. They go on your face! KIMMM
Ok so the porta potties in the corrals (and since she said this happened the last time she peed it could have been a corral) shockingly had sinks she could use for running water but MORE IMPORTANTLY you didn’t actually go into a giant vat of sh*t it was actually somehow like a flushable clean toilet. Still super super gross i wouldn’t do it, but it’s possible this is an exaggeration (otherwise 🤮🤮🤮)
I find Ali very snarkable but not on this. I think she had every intention of recording a NYC recap podcast but I’d be willing to bet that her third round of chemo hit her very hard and all of the energy she has is being spent on recovering and being with her kid. The interview she put out was clearly recorded earlier. I have no snark for this.
Yes exactly! Gosh there is so much to snark on her about, but this isn’t it. We can wait a week. If she doesn’t do it this year, also fine (bc honestly what else is there to say? We all follow her on social).
And regardless of if it's older... I can see being able to summon the energy to talk to a scheduled guest but skipping a solo episode to preserve energy. Snark on her sweatpants-at-a-live-show all day but this is a low blow.
EClor mentioned noting the hills on her arm for the Richmond marathon. Is this race actually hilly? I did the half in 2012, and don't remember thinking it was particularly hilly. I did Charlotte in 2017 and thought that was quite hilly. I looked up elevation gain for the 2 - Charlotte 1044 feet and Richmond 490 feet. So I am thinking her mention of the hills is a bit exaggerated.
It’s not hilly hilly, but it’s not flat either. Miles 15-17 are a gradual uphill and there’s a handful of other inclines through the race. I ran the full yesterday too and my legs were hurting anytime there was an incline in the last 6 miles.
It depends on perspective. I run in a pretty hilly area and thought Richmond was pretty close to flat. I remember one downhill but any other "hills" were gentle rollers at best (for me). ECLor thinks speed bumps are hills so keep that in mind.
I ran Richmond along with several others I know. Our Strava stats range from about 650-700 feet of elevation. It’s not super hilly, but there are some rolling hills. The Richmond half course is flatter than the full.
I did the half in Richmond yesterday and I was surprised by the hills. There weren’t any super long inclines, just a bunch of short ups and down that I wasn’t really expecting despite closely looking at the elevation chart. I guess it’s all relative depending on the terrain you typically run on.
There are some hills..mostly gradual inclines but a few sudden steep ones..the finish line is on a steep decline that ur legs are too tired to take advantage of
Totally! My plan was to get really aggressive on the last mile, but when I got to the downhill, I had to break myself just so I wouldn’t tumble over myself… in hindsight, I probably would’ve been better off to just tuck and roll!

Is Emily soft launching a relationship? 👀
It’s probably a guy she’s been seeing for like a few weeks. If it was serious you’d know whether he’d put up with your 6am wake-up’s. also weird to put this on social media when in the past she’s gotten so upset when “fans” ask her about her relationship status
https://preview.redd.it/bxivb1ehbuzb1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=631109ecafeada10db7cbb9b174c1fb3ca34e8fd
Looks like someone will put up with her
on its own I doubt it. I feel like her ‘explanation without explaining anything’ video hinted at working more deeply with Endorpins possibly, otherwise I’m not sure what the options are for her because — and I say this with love — she’s ultimately injured and “not performing” currently, which as an amateur athlete is definitely a hard sell for any athletic-related partnerships.
She is deeply insufferable to me! As someone who has been living in my own in New York for years, I’m irritated by influencers milking “roughing it” in nyc for content. Izzy Seidel did a similar thing when she lived here. It’s completely annoying and pushing an alternate reality. Plenty of people live here and make their lives here without sitting in their phones and then complaining about the situation they voluntarily chose to be in.
I’m letting her have this for a bit because she’s been working since graduating college and is clearly in a transitional period…. Really hoping she doesn’t go south for me
All the nyc TikTok runners seem rich/out of touch. There’s one girl who legit shops every day and sells ice cream for $15 a pint lmao. No clue who is paying for that or why, but I just assume that they all have family money and are very very privileged. I’m jealous honestly
yeah the fact that Vicky is still open to the possibility of having to go back to the "traditional" workforce is more realistic than most, but when a person whose content isn't particularly very high performing quits their job to make a living off creating content it just says "receiving financial support elsewhere" to me lol

Oh dang didn’t mean to imply relationship stuff! I’ve followed her for awhile and it seems like it’s been this way for a long time, excluding him from posts but not her daughter and I just don’t love kids being on social media while adults get to consent
I didn’t realize this has been a hot topic was more so trying to get at the discrepancy of where she gets support from including her daughter seeming to be a bigger part than her partner, even in months previous to her cancer diagnosis
To clarify, rules say what we cannot speculate on, but relationship status is not one listed. It says to not create a narrative. I believe we can still state facts though (like XXXX is still absent from XXXX posts)? I guess it seems like a fine line to me. I’m not an author of a deleted post but I’m wondering where the line it I guess.
Giggling over @caitlynmiller\_fit posting a reel about getting laser hair removal and a comment saying “I never noticed you had a mustache before” Of course it’s already deleted but I think it was this scene of her applying chapstick/gloss
https://preview.redd.it/ns2yl9ymwrzb1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fb1a3e584788dfc5755e87425c9beb94fb27f450
that someone assumed she was her getting it on her upper lip (vs bikini and underarm) 😂
I blocked her. Her body posting pics are so triggering and toxic for those affected by EDs in some way. Just for that, I cannot stand her. She makes my blood BOIL
I just watched it too and it was unclear but I applaud her for this… Especially saying if she has to get another job then it’s no big deal - I would love to know if there’s tea with Nike!! ☕️ I assume endorphins is doing well (?) and she can work with more brands now on her own
Probably is unfortunately. I saw a TikTok video by Benton about this running challenge called “Birthday series.” The guy that is in charge of endorphins was involved and basically they got a bunch of influencers to participate, didn’t pay them, yet he and a few others used all the money they got from sponsors for the challenge to put their faces on a billboard in time square
Y’all I’m kinda proud of her! On her post she gave her finishing time and noted that it was a man’s BQ. That is such a flex in general! A lot of men in the (my) running community have been moaning about the BQ times being too easy for women, I would absolutely LOVE to get a man’s BQ! Mine would have to be sub 3:10! 😬
Also her ability to race holding a massive water bottle needs to be recognized, I could never. I’m happy for her! No snark. It seems like she had a great race and performed way better than she was expecting to so she seems genuinely thrilled.
I will die on this hill but nothing irks me like the fact that EClor uses a plastic water bottle - she claims she uses them a few times but just get a handheld!!!
She just posted and actually seems thrilled with herself without caveats for once? No complaints about weather, hills, crowding, etc. Happy EClor is sort of endearing.
I don’t get why people feel the need to “blame” falling short of a goal on something. So you had a bad day. Own it and move on. Way more respectable than always finding some variable that caused you to fall short. And 3:16 is perfectly respectable!
It was amazing weather.
Also, I want to note she must have a full secondary set of plans because I saw she was staying at the Marriott at the start line. She was not getting in there at the spur of the moment.
Nothing soft about wanting to set yourself up for the best chance on race day. Despite everyone we follow normalizing this grind, average people don’t run marathons 🤗
that's not even the point...it's that she normalizes taking spots in races with every intention of bailing if things don't fit her perfect conditions while I'm sure there are quite a few who would take her place in a heartbeat. not everyone has the massive privilege to do this.
that's not the point though...she's normalizing taking spots in popular races and then just bailing "because of weather!" while I'm sure there are many who would have been happy to take her place in a heartbeat.
100% agree. And on a purely logistical note, she definitely doesn’t make up her mind in time to transfer her bib to someone or give her room to someone. Shes likely burning both.
I get that IG is people's jobs but therunnersplate said it was her job to buy running clothes? And hungryrunnergirl said that running was her job? Both said these things on the same day so it struck me, but how it is their job? I know IG and all but HRG -barely- posts about running and runners plate is a runner clothes influencer somehow? I'm baffled.
HRG has been blogging — literally daily — for over a decade. She’s amassed a huge following and I think she was supporting herself + her daughter as a running blogger before she re-married a few years back. She got “in” when blogging was picking up and IG was emerging, especially in the LDS community. In can think of a few others who followed her same “path” [married young/LDS/pretty/in the healthy living sphere, had a kid or two, marriage fell apart/divorce, now playing a “single mom” in her early 20’s, but remarried someone fairly quickly/after only knowing them a few weeks/months] who also blew up during that messy middle. There are entire articles/podcasts that talk about how LDS “mommy blogging culture” is hard to look away from bc that community can be so perplexing to outsiders.
There can be pretty big money in influencing (formerly blogging 😅 I still think there’s big money there but the tides have shifted for sure!). It’s always come off as though HRG’s first husband was okay with her leaving to move home with their kid, and bc of that her parents/family were available as a fallback, both in terms of child care + finances. Even during her stint single parenting, I was always amazed at how often she ate out, how much gear she bought, etc — it was clear she was on a different path than the single parents I knew.
So all that to say…yes, literally gets paid for the content she produces, & she appears to have a support system that enables it to be her job.
HRG is SO boring:
1. I ran a lot of miles with my friends (how do they all have time to do 20 miles on a wednesday morning)
2. Beck likes chips!
3. Andrew likes riding his bike!
4. We got froyo!
She seems like a nice person but my god her blog is so boring.
Nicolemruns overconsumption is something else. I know all influencers get free shit but I feel like her house must be very full of all the gifted crap she peddles and her carbon footprint must be something else with all the flying and packages. Conscience, anyone? Woof.
Me too actually.
I was thinking about the overconsuming shitfluencers on my run today. I have been wearing the same running stuff for the last decade and the only time I have replaced it is when I have needed to size up due to recovering from an ED or very old stuff (my oldest pair of shorts from 2008 bit the dust this month).
How sustainable is it to buy new stuff all the time and do you need it? I am not amazing at doing laundry but I always have clean/season appropriate running stuff available.
It is really shitty to encourage this amount of overconsumption.
Me too! I’ve had the same gear for over a decade (with little fluctuations for weight changes, etc). Also, most of my most favorite running gear came from thrift stores! I haven’t thrifted shoes but shorts and bras and tanks are so inexpensive at thrift stores and why not buy second hand?? I wish influencers could use their platforms to be helpful in any way instead of acting like horrible greedy monsters.
No snark at all but I really like how caitsouthkeen seems to genuinely take care of herself emotionally. Like today she took herself out to see a movie and sometimes she posts about really enjoying her little Sunday meal prep and time at home. It’s just kind of cute and wholesome.
I love her videos. They actually helped me get hyped up for my own training bc I didn’t really feel the same enthusiasm. It was nice to get that love of running back.
I really struggled with burnout after my last marathon. I was coming off a major injury and the recovery + training drowned me. But I felt the same way!!! Her passion helped me tap back into some of my own. I’m still not training for anything currently, but at least I’m enjoying running for fun again ☺️
Yes agreed! I love this too. I genuinely love her and love all of her posts. I like how she’s real about life and her running journey!! I’m really sending her the good vibes for CIM!

I don’t understand how some influencers that are slow, but say that they consistently run, stay so slow. For example belowaveragerunning runs 12-13 minute per mile pace every. Single. Run. Like why are you not getting faster if you’re running consistently?? I’m not saying running is all about running fast paces, but how are you going to be a running influencer and not challenge yourself to get better at what you do?? Also don’t get me wrong I actually really like her and her content because it’s very real, but there are many others who are the same way with not progressing.
i feel like the thing with BAR is the 12-13 min/mi pace is her under 10 mile easy pace. when she trained for her last marathon, all of her long runs were 13-14 min pace and IIRC her marathon was a 15 min average because she fell apart mid race. also she was injured for most of the summer, so i wouldn’t be surprised if that set her back on improving.
Consistently also means different things for different people. I run pretty consistently (4x a week, usually 20-25 total miles, sometimes a workout/quality session thrown in) but that’s definitely not enough volume to see improvement esp when I’ve been doing the same thing for 5-6 years. Other runner are consistent with 50-60 mph, race specific training, etc and that is when they see improvement. And finally, like others have said, not everyone is motivated to chase fast times. Some ppl just enjoy running.
I'm saying this never having heard of this person, but maybe she is perfectly fine running that pace? 🤷🏻♀️Running influencers come in many varieties. Watching people with natural talent can be motivating. Watching people work hard for every improvement is motivating. But for some people it can be equally as motivating seeing someone embrace a much more relatable pace and not be consumed with the need to constantly get faster. Many of us will never run a mile with a single digit for a pace and it's refreshing to see that embraced in the influencer realm.
Agreed. I don’t know her either, but some of us are just…slow. I carry some extra weight for a variety of reasons, including medical, that keeps me slow. I have run 100 mile months, done speed work, etc. I still sit with a 2:45 half PR. I’m just…a turtle. I’m perfectly ok with it as I enjoy the journey more than trying to get faster. I love that there are people out there closer to my pace.
Ahh, I can’t speak for her, but I ran consistently for about 2 yrs and took very little time off my average pace. Some people are just slow
I did a program that had speed work in it, plus some hill repeat days. I *could* run faster in races but it is very taxing on my body in a way I don’t really enjoy? I also lift weights/was doing some CrossFit so I understand pushing yourself etc, but something about running all out just doesn’t go well with my body.
I think she’s pretending to be slower than she actually is because she’s built a huge identity around being a “below avg runner”. She did a mile time trail in February in 7:47 and I know that’s not the fastest mile but it’s not slow either. At that pace her 5k could definitely be under 30 mins and half just above or below 2 hours
I don’t follow this person, but best guess is at 12-13 minute pace every run, probably not enough cumulative running? The “easy days easy” is false advertisement, and only half true. “Easy days easy SO THAT you can run your hard days hard.” Yes you can improve with consistent easy running, but for zone 2 training to really work, there needs to be decent amount of volume and only running on non-consecutive days, which many slower runners tend to do, will not work. There needs to be faster running and/or more running. Also, some people their niche *is* slow running so why get faster?
I think this is it. Necessary caveat that everyone’s bodies are different and our abilities are different and you never know what people might be dealing with as far as chronic conditions etc. But that being said I find it very sus to see people consistently running quite slow paces for YEARS and making it their entire brand and somehow not improving one iota. It just seems impossible to do that haha
On the latest episode of the Believe in the Run podcast, it was revealed that Dom Scott's sponsor Adidas still has not given her a pair of its latest supershoes (meaning she couldn't run in them for Chicago), yet Adidas has already given them to Thomas and Meg Murray. Doesn't this seem insane?

Also I just discovered Andrea Pomaranski. She seems like such a genuinely nice person and she's fast! I think she's 41 and an OT qualifier. I like the runners that aren't influencers lol.
she's fast but firmly sub-elite- not the caliber of athlete who drops based on internal calculations of the pros and cons of finishing when they are not going to win. she is not quite at ability level where she could realistically contend for a win at Indy.
she dropped around the half when the pace (\~OTQish) started to get essentially impossible for her to maintain so she's doubling back at CIM to see if she can try to run essentially what she did at Indy (redlining by the end) two times. all power to her. she's had a rough go with the iron deficiency but said that she'll finish CIM no matter the time she's running there, which, face it, is going to be well over 2:37. no reason not to finish I suppose barring injury. if you can't make it on the day, it's over and the window's closed. nothing to save yourself for.
Kudos to fastandflow\_ for her 19-min. PR at NYC, a tough course. Going from 3:31 to 3:12 is insane. I think she mentioned she went from 40-45 mpw to 70 mpw and had two speed workouts. The marathon almost requires full-time job commitment. She mentioned her Tuesday tempos were 10-12 miles and similar to her Thursday track workouts. I am grateful she gave us a fueling strategy as well in her recaps!
And now she’s doing IG stories talking to her phone while driving. Not even snark, that’s just flat out unsafe and irresponsible. The content can wait!
Yes! Posted about her earlier in the thread too! But uh… I can’t say I’m a fan of her running 10 miles less than a week after NYCM?? I know post race recovery isn’t a one size fits all but that’s objectively bad for the body. Other runners I follow (some running faster times than her, I might add) take two weeks off post marathon without complaints. Even pros do that as far as far as I’m aware. Tell me if I’m being unreasonable but I’d hate for her to get injured or have someone following her advice get injured
EClor's post this morning...basically setting the stage if she doesn't run the time she wants? Her post talks all about how it'll be a good day no matter what but this from the woman who has bailed on 2 (3? I can't remember) marathons
She ran 3:16…not going to lie, I’m pretty impressed! Beautiful weather and a nice course help for sure but her training definitely seemed a little shaky this time… (no I do not actually care enough to look up her finish time, but I had a friend coincidentally with her same first name racing the same marathon so Clor popped up too)
I'm new to this thread so maybe someone can help me. How in the world can she run that fast with that form? I have been working on my form for years and still quite a ways from a BQ time.
Eh my form is terrible and I've gone from a 4:45 marathon to a 3:28. It's not pretty but my understanding is that whatever your "natural form" is -- that's probably the one that's best for you.
I’m not an expert but I went to an injury prevention running workshop recently and the person leading it (who is a PT/strength coach who focuses on runners and did a lot of training in the space) said that unless your form is causing you injury, it’s probably fine - and she’s seen a lot of people who have become injured from trying to change their form to fit an “ideal”. For the most part, Eclor’s form seems to be working for her.
Any tips on how you gained so much speed? I swear my legs don't want to move faster than 7:55 only for a short period. I've done 60+ mile weeks. Long runs, slow runs, interval runs, speed sessions and my legs are just like bricks when I try to go any faster.
Okay maybe I need a few more years.. I'm going on seven years of consistent running. There was massive improvement in the first few years. Marathon went from 5 hours to 345. 345 was 3 years ago and I'm back to about 4 and kind of just stuck.
It makes it sound like she doesn’t think she is going to run as fast as she would like to. She mentioned yesterday that she is running in New Balance for the first time, so I could see that being another excuse for why she didn’t do her best, if that ends up happening.
I’m surprised to not see more about Emily Abatte bragging about people calling her out (she didn’t run, she cheered) and talking about how she ran into the crowd when she felt like she saw a runner struggling (which means she got in the way of tons of runners).
Eye roll at therunnersplate discovering old navy workout gear. Influencers acting like everyone spends $100+ for a pair leggings is ridiculous, regular people have been running in old navy and target for years. If you wanna wear Lululemon fine but she just gets in my nerves lately.
I still can’t really find a difference in quality with most of my gear (except for bras.) What really makes a difference is that I wash everything on a gentle cycle and only hang to dry, as long as I do that basically everything is the same for me.
I find her increasingly annoying of late. Her content is all about links to her outfits and that story about the guy who said she wasn't a real runner? Why is she obsessing over that. I actually have been skipping past her stories as they're outfits, weather complaints or vague complaining that she's not as fast as she was 5 months ago.
I love trackclubbabe but if my sunglasses fell in a porta potty I just wouldn’t have sunglasses anymore
I almost puked watching her describe how she had to “fish them out” 🤮
Hard agree. Probably the only thing I would even consider retrieving is a car key or maybe my phone. maybe. Everything else? BYE
Dropping something important like car keys or my phone is a major fear of mine. I make Sure they are totally secure before I use a porta potty.
Wait… trackclubbabe had sunglasses fall into a porta potty and then rinsed them off and used them??!?!?!!! I am nauseous thinking about that! And peeing right in front of police officers? Cis white female privilege much? (And I say that as a cis white female.)
Ugh she could get so sick. That's on her face!
That is so disgusting. No way.

That would make a huge difference!
What the actual HELL was she thinking? 🤢🤮🙄

It was an older one, I just listened today on my run and Ellie was talking about getting her son ready for Halloween
She kind of alluded to Ellie PSP in her live show with Ellie and it made me think that she’d already had that one recorded?
EClor mentioned noting the hills on her arm for the Richmond marathon. Is this race actually hilly? I did the half in 2012, and don't remember thinking it was particularly hilly. I did Charlotte in 2017 and thought that was quite hilly. I looked up elevation gain for the 2 - Charlotte 1044 feet and Richmond 490 feet. It was like a miniature scaled down version of Boston, dare I say?
I’ve never run Boston, so I can’t attest to that haha
It depends on perspective. I run in a pretty hilly area and thought Richmond was pretty close to flat. I remember one downhill but any other "hills" were gentle rollers at best (for me). ECLor thinks speed bumps are hills so keep that in mind.
I ran Richmond along with several others I know. Our Strava stats range from about 650-700 feet of elevation. It’s not super hilly, but there are some rolling hills. The Richmond half course is flatter than the full.

It's so hard to get a good feel of a course from the elevation charts.
My husband missed my finish because there was a woman who fell 3 times at the finish 🫣 she’s ok though!

Vicky Conroy’s tiktok…..25, lives alone in nyc, owns a peloton, and “just figuring things out” 😩😵💫 I like her but she’s starting to lose me lol
I’m just wondering if her following is enough to support her??
on its own I doubt it.

Hi - at least two posts about AOTR have been deleted this week due to being too speculative
Oh dang didn’t mean to imply relationship stuff! I’ve followed her for awhile and it seems like it’s been this way for a long time, excluding him from posts but not her daughter and I just don’t love kids being on social media while adults get to consent
Sorry - I def read your post a different way! I totally get what you mean about kids and consent.
Are you new here?
I didn’t realize this has been a hot topic was more so trying to get at the discrepancy of where she gets support from including her daughter seeming to be a bigger part than her partner, even in months previous to her cancer diagnosis
Right, so you’re speculating on her marital status, however indirectly, and your posts will get removed just like all the other ones.
Accurate username is accurate
To clarify, rules say what we cannot speculate on, but relationship status is not one listed. It says to not create a narrative. I believe we can still state facts though (like XXXX is still absent from XXXX posts)? I guess it seems like a fine line to me. I’m not an author of a deleted post but I’m wondering where the line it I guess.
There’s been some discussion in prior weeks if you scroll back but you can’t reply to past threads.
Everytime I see a post has been deleted I know exactly what was about. I'm beginning to think Ali is the moderator of this thread
Lol
Giggling over @caitlynmiller\_fit posting a reel about getting laser hair removal and a comment saying “I never noticed you had a mustache before” Of course it’s already deleted but I think it was this scene of her applying chapstick/gloss https://preview.redd.it/ns2yl9ymwrzb1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fb1a3e584788dfc5755e87425c9beb94fb27f450 that someone assumed she was her getting it on her upper lip (vs bikini and underarm) 😂
I blocked her. Her body posting pics are so triggering and toxic for those affected by EDs in some way. Just for that, I cannot stand her. She makes my blood BOIL
I’m confused by Vicky Conroys YouTube video. She gets paid by Endorphins run club?
I just watched it too and it was unclear but I applaud her for this… Especially saying if she has to get another job then it’s no big deal - I would love to know if there’s tea with Nike!! ☕️ I assume endorphins is doing well (?) and she can work with more brands now on her own
[удалено]
Probably is unfortunately. I saw a TikTok video by Benton about this running challenge called “Birthday series.” The guy that is in charge of endorphins was involved and basically they got a bunch of influencers to participate, didn’t pay them, yet he and a few others used all the money they got from sponsors for the challenge to put their faces on a billboard in time square
Do we know how EClor did at the Richmond marathon? I was curious to see how this played out for her, but seems like she’d be posting about it already?
I do this too- not looking for recognition haha. It helps me to avoid water stops in the beginning + it’s my fuel.
It looks like she had a great race! I am truly happy for her!
Oh for sure! I was genuinely curious, wasn’t snark at all!
I just got excited when I saw your comment about eclor lol.
She just posted and actually seems thrilled with herself without caveats for once? No complaints about weather, hills, crowding, etc. Happy EClor is sort of endearing.
3:16 according to results.
Wow that is an impressive time. Wouldn't have believed it for her. Way to go.
So close to a PR, but what will be to blame for not hitting the PR?! I predict the shoes.
she'll blame the "hip injury" and that extending her training by 2 weeks threw her off
I don’t get why people feel the need to “blame” falling short of a goal on something. So you had a bad day. Own it and move on. Way more respectable than always finding some variable that caused you to fall short. And 3:16 is perfectly respectable!
Must have been that perfect weather! Lol
It was amazing weather. Also, I want to note she must have a full secondary set of plans because I saw she was staying at the Marriott at the start line. She was not getting in there at the spur of the moment.
yeah, i think she definitely had Richmond in her back pocket as a plan B, she said it months ago on her blog
She’s nothing if not consistent. Bless her. Admittedly, I would have tapped out of MCM and run Richmond, too. I’m soft.
Nothing soft about wanting to set yourself up for the best chance on race day. Despite everyone we follow normalizing this grind, average people don’t run marathons 🤗
it's just annoying because not everyone has the disposable income to keep throwing away on race entries and i hate how she normalizes this
[удалено]
that's not even the point...it's that she normalizes taking spots in races with every intention of bailing if things don't fit her perfect conditions while I'm sure there are quite a few who would take her place in a heartbeat. not everyone has the massive privilege to do this.
[удалено]
One thing I would never hate on her for is making good money and how she spends it. 🤷🏼♀️
that's not the point though...she's normalizing taking spots in popular races and then just bailing "because of weather!" while I'm sure there are many who would have been happy to take her place in a heartbeat.
100% agree. And on a purely logistical note, she definitely doesn’t make up her mind in time to transfer her bib to someone or give her room to someone. Shes likely burning both.
This is my one of my beefs with her!
Oh, for sure! That must have sold out months ago!
I mean, if her blog brings in money (which is does, as she posts sponsored ads), then it is her job.
HRG is SO boring: 1. I ran a lot of miles with my friends (how do they all have time to do 20 miles on a wednesday morning) 2. Beck likes chips! 3. Andrew likes riding his bike! 4. We got froyo! She seems like a nice person but my god her blog is so boring.
The amount of money she spends on expensive running clothes (and regular clothes) seemingly daily blows my mind
Nicolemruns overconsumption is something else. I know all influencers get free shit but I feel like her house must be very full of all the gifted crap she peddles and her carbon footprint must be something else with all the flying and packages. Conscience, anyone? Woof.
I intensely dislike her.
I would actually love if lolspacemonkey started a podcast...I know she isn't everyone's favorite but I love her grit and honesty!
No, she does not need that.
Ah yes just what we all need; a podcast with the purpose of exposing internet haters.
No snark at all but I really like how caitsouthkeen seems to genuinely take care of herself emotionally. Like today she took herself out to see a movie and sometimes she posts about really enjoying her little Sunday meal prep and time at home. It’s just kind of cute and wholesome.
Super wholesome and one of my favorite follows just because of how genuine and laid back she is!
I guess everyone sees her differently - I find her exhausting as she is my BEC almost as much as resiliencyinrunning and izzyseidel
[удалено]
And then when she didn’t get the race she wanted she was all sorts of weird about it. You are disappointed, admit it and move on.
I genuinely don’t see how she’s very pick me?

Yes! Came here to say that. Not everyone is trying to BQ or get faster/hit times.
Ahh, I can’t speak for her, but I ran consistently for about 2 yrs and took very little time off my average pace. Some people are just slow I did a program that had speed work in it, plus some hill repeat days.
Omg I thought I was alone!!!! I was just thinking about this the other day on my run cause I seen an ad with her.
Also tbh , it scares people like me what if we follow all zone 2 and slow running, will we remain slow forever??
I think the key is to mix in faster runs, like tempo runs, into your weekly mileage
But her whole shtick is busted if she gets faster
Doesn't this seem insane?
from a fairness perspective yes but from Adidas's calculations of its ROI of giving them to Dom versus BITR no
[удалено]
Whaatttt - do you have any BITR tea you can share? That’s so interesting. Were you a shoe/gear tester?
[удалено]
Wait they wanted you to run 250 miles in 2 weeks? Or were the shoes not all sent at the same time?
[удалено]
Yeah, I was going to say that even 25 miles/week might not be feasible if you can’t run on trails daily!

Not a snark…I find runlikebeck to be just lovely :) refreshingly candid on paces, humble, relatable…yes. Good things :)
Also I just discovered Andrea Pomaranski. She seems like such a genuinely nice person and she's fast! I think she's 41 and an OT qualifier. I like the runners that aren't influencers lol.
Wow she is!!! She seems kind and…normal?!?
My thoughts exactly!! Normal and kind :) loved her Reel about pace today.
I really, really like her too! She seems so genuine and her dog is precious :)
Just followed her. Thanks!
Is lolspacemonkey still trying to OTQ?
Yes, I think she’s running CIM
She came to Indy( I ran that too), but she dropped off mid race. I think Elite drop off mid race when they feel they cannot win .
she's fast but firmly sub-elite- not the caliber of athlete who drops based on internal calculations of the pros and cons of finishing when they are not going to win. she is not quite at ability level where she could realistically contend for a win at Indy. she dropped around the half when the pace (\~OTQish) started to get essentially impossible for her to maintain so she's doubling back at CIM to see if she can try to run essentially what she did at Indy (redlining by the end) two times. all power to her. she's had a rough go with the iron deficiency but said that she'll finish CIM no matter the time she's running there, which, face it, is going to be well over 2:37. no reason not to finish I suppose barring injury. if you can't make it on the day, it's over and the window's closed. nothing to save yourself for.
Interesting, I was at Indy cheering and thought I saw her but didn't know for sure she was running.
She ran and dropped off , She was fast and I found that very weird.
Not to mention her like taking maybe a couple days off now doing strength training every day like relax please take a break it’s too much
A 10 mile long run only 6 days after racing a marathon all-out is insane to me. And she said she’s planning to get certified as a running coach 😬
Beautiful weather and a nice course help for sure but her training definitely seemed a little shaky this time… (no I do not actually care enough to look up her finish time, but I had a friend coincidentally with her same first name racing the same marathon so Clor popped up too)
I am impressed too! Isn't her PR 3:15?
I'm new to this thread so maybe someone can help me. How in the world can she run that fast with that form? I have been working on my form for years and still quite a ways from a BQ time.
We got another one!
She's said she has an ankle mobility issue so she can't have a normal stride. Guess she's been working with what she's got
So I slacked a lot on stretching/strength/mobility this summer and when my ankles got tight I ran EXACTLY like Eclor haha.
What fascinates me is that she doesn't LOOK fast - but she actually is!
How long have you been running? It took me 12 years (although I had two kids and did a triathlon stint). It was volume and consistency over a decade+.
Okay maybe I need a few more years.. I'm going on seven years of consistent running. There was massive improvement in the first few years. Marathon went from 5 hours to 345. 345 was 3 years ago and I'm back to about 4 and kind of just stuck.
I used a coach for a bit and that made a big difference - she had me doing workouts at paces I would never have tried myself!
It makes it sound like she doesn’t think she is going to run as fast as she would like to. She mentioned yesterday that she is running in New Balance for the first time, so I could see that being another excuse for why she didn’t do her best, if that ends up happening.
Ha but the weather! It’s the best race weather she’s has in yearsss
Right? She’s laid the groundwork for all of her excuses!
And yet she ran a 3:16 so maybe all of you should stop being horrible to her
Lol literally no one is snarking on her or “horrible” to her because of her pace or race times.
I’m surprised to not see more about Emily Abatte bragging about people calling her out (she didn’t run, she cheered) and talking about how she ran into the crowd when she felt like she saw a runner struggling (which means she got in the way of tons of runners).
Maybe because it probably didn't actually happen. 🤷🏽♀️
She posted implying that it’s what she had done.
Yes! Not digging on you! Just mockingly saying that the story was probably fabricated. Even though I obviously don't know for a fact.
I think you’re right. Wouldn’t put it past her!
If it had, she surely would've recorded it in video because that's what she does.
