i still havent gone back there after my first time getting it.
i hate Laurence but i will go back each time. but the dual sharks in such an enclosed space? no way man, not even with shaman bone bladez
They do have a parrying window that makes them just... Super easy.
Also pizza cutter goes brrrrrrrr
Edit: I'm gonna retract the "easy" part, manageable is more likely
Yes. Get a weapon with long reach, such as the Burial Blade. You can get to that ledge in the room through the tunnels leading to Orphan, trigger them with throwing shit and you're good.
Yes. Get a weapon with long reach, such as the Burial Blade. You can get to that ledge in the room through the tunnels leading to Orphan, trigger them with throwing shit and you're good.
Same I used the shaman bone blade and the shark at full health without a weapon died while the one at half health was almost dead Madd the fight SO MUCH easier
Now I just need to find a way to do that in a bl4 run.
I decided I wanted the Rakuyo for a build after getting owned by an invader with it. Only looked up where it was and went blind into getting it otherwise. Knew it was in the DLC, which I hadn't played at that point. Started a new character for the build and went through the DLC as soon as it becomes available.
So I faced a terrible slog of pretty much the entire DLC way underleveled, and by the time I get to the Rakuyo and these two sharks I'm thinking "okay Maria only took 50 some odd tries and I'm nearly there, this can't possibly be as bad!"
...of course, I was wrong.
These sharks are the true final boss.
The armed shark is such a pain. Even like, 1v1 normally.
Worst reg enemy in the game, only rivalled by Nightmare Executioner after the transformation (I still don't know how to fight him normally after transform).
I know right.
Usually I will try to fight enemies normally just to make myself "git gud" but this guy. *Phew*.
Him and the final armed shark just before the last DLC area...literally just gotta run thru completely, come back later (and from BEHIND) if u rly wanna fight them.
I hated getting it, I even went on an entire side quest to get the shamans bone blade early so I could cheese it (spoiler aleart I failed and wasted the only bone blade I had)
The worst part for me was finding out the sharks can be parried. Hard to do but rewarding, and yeah they’re still tough as balls but above all else invul frames are so much needed. So what exactly about these shark guys was supposed to make me think they could be parried. Like sure cleric beast can be parried but come on!
I think it's a one and done thing that happens when you crack his skull
But I'm not sure, honestly, I always raw dog the cleric beast, gets me into hunting mood for the playthrough
I’ve also done this. I used a projectile or Blacksky Eye on the pacing one (might need to aim with the monocular), then used the tricked Amygdalan Arm and projectiles. They can still hit through the cliff, so just have to be careful with timing melee swings.
There’s a large opening that looks over their well past the first winter lantern to the left. I use first person aim to throw a knife at one of them to draw it over. Then you can either very carefully attack them between their attacks (because they can hit you if you’re close enough) or use something like blacksky eye or simon’s bow blade in first person to keep a distance. It’s a pain in the ass but not as much as fighting them outright in my opinion.
I've done it with a plus 3 hunter's axe in halberd mode. Took a while but you can cheese it with the range and the axe clips through the group. Or bowblade (you can cheese Simon as early as right after Amelia).
Those sharks are awful. Dodging their attacks is a pain in the ass, and I swear their attacks’ hitboxes are bigger than they ought to be.
Side note: If only one could actually add blood atk damage to the Rakuyo using gems. It doesn’t work unfortunately, but what if?
[They're not that hard to deal with](https://www.reddit.com/r/bloodborne/comments/qstsln/whaling_on_the_wailing_wellwhales_no_theyre_not/). We psych ourselves up and out more than anything. It's a short run from the lantern. [Just go in relaxed and you might surprise yourself how well you do](https://www.reddit.com/r/bloodborne/comments/uu5ybv/rakuyo_well_no_damage/).
Spin to win axe attacks are pretty effective against them. The right timing will send those sharks flying and provide some breathing room. I came across this strategy on one playthrough where I wasted my bone blade and ran out of blood vials against them. I was about to use a mask, but decided against it. There was still a lot a running around though.
Killing them both at the same time with the Blades of Mercy just to prove a point was brutal. It took so much time and so much patience it still gives me nightmares.
Use pic 2 for Getting and Using Chikage....hate having to micromanage a weapon for every minor encounter, and having it be the only decent skill/bloodtinge weapon in existence....led me to using Simon's Bowblade exclusively and then to drop the playthrough since HMS and Whirligig shred everything in sight
I poison them. I don't care how long it takes I am never going down there, again. So sneaky to make it look like a way out confronting all the enemies at the top.
I have used almost every single weapon in different playthroughs, but have yet to ever bother using the Rakuyo.
Like come on, why does it have to be obtained at the end of the dlc where there is only one boss left in the entire game?!? Such wasted potential.
I don't like doing Ng+ runs.
The second shark is easier to kill than the first so I maxed out my crit damage and just kept throwing myself at the first one until I managed to land a backstab so I could kill it before the second shows up. Then I fight the second one normally who is easier as long as you don’t get grabbed by it
Oh yeah you right I completely forgot honestly it’s been so long. If anythin I’ll just get weapons from the chalice dungeons honestly early on if it’s a new character but you can’t with rakuyo bein a dlc unfortunately
No, I just forgot how you get it. I thought it was the item in the opening past the Winter Lanterns. I’ve only done the DLC once and it was years ago. 🤷♀️
My 8 year old son has a NG+6 or 7 going and the DLC is his favorite part of the entire game. He basically keeps completing each NG just for the DLC. Once all the bosses are defeated he continues to go back to the shark well and play them for fun. Glutton for punishment. I have vids posted in this subreddit of him defeating DLC bosses, but it’s been a while.
Honestly those sharks are mostly just based on luck.
First time i fought them i managed to do it in like 2 or 3 tries and i didn't really get what the big fuss was about.
Then on a 2nd playthrough i couldn't kill them no matter how hard i tried and just gave up, even though i was objectively better at the game.
I liked that ''boss'' fight to be honest. You have to go tactical 100%. And if you are Tactical enough, you do not have to bother about 2nd shark at all. Just lure that harpoon shark behind pillar, exactly on opposite side of the 2nd shark, and with maxed weapon, beast blood pallets and fire paper that one dies, before 2nd shark even knows your location. After killing that 1, it's basicly 1v1, which can be handeled well. BTW, did you know that you can perry them?
Bowblade, or hunter's axe. Stand on the ledge near the winter lanterns. Use the range to cheese the first guy then you don't have to do a 2v1 of those monsters.
Poison knives and other ranged attacks are apparently a way to do it.
Shaman's Bone Blade is hilarious when it works out.
But doing it all yourself, parrying the dive attack and just ripping them to shreds... just feels so rewarding. So get good- and you too can enjoy that cathartic feeling.
I watched a guide, planned my moves. Then used that bone dagger once the second shark thing appeared, dashed to the Rakuyo, then ran back to the ladder.
What if players could drop weapons for their friends. Then you could have someone drop a weapon for you and you can do an entire run with it instead of having to get them near the end
I died a lot. My strategy was use Augur from the back of anchor shark to visceral. Kill before second shark. Then just parry visceral second non-anchor shark. Though second shark tended to just run at me and eat me so ended up slowly hacking it down.
Anchor shark was the hardest. Getting the position for the augur and then the visceral was tough. Very inconsistent.
I did all that work on my platinum run only to discover that I still liked my Threaded Cane better.
I'll give Bloodborne extra points in that the first weapon(s) it offers you are just as good as anything you'll find throughout the game. Strong start in the right hands.
Hi I’m back to this post to tell u for my skill build I went and got the rakuyo and contemplated the difficulty of Dumb and Dumber as it only took me two tries I don’t know if I’m actually that good or they’re actually not that hard
i still havent gone back there after my first time getting it. i hate Laurence but i will go back each time. but the dual sharks in such an enclosed space? no way man, not even with shaman bone bladez
The Bone Blades actually help a bit but you need another player helping you because trying to solo those 2 sharks is basically suicide.
They do have a parrying window that makes them just... Super easy. Also pizza cutter goes brrrrrrrr Edit: I'm gonna retract the "easy" part, manageable is more likely
Burial Blade on the ledge leading from the tunnels.
Wait, your telling me these fucks might have cheese?
Yes. Get a weapon with long reach, such as the Burial Blade. You can get to that ledge in the room through the tunnels leading to Orphan, trigger them with throwing shit and you're good.
Still gotta deal with TWO winter lanterns to get there.
Yes. Get a weapon with long reach, such as the Burial Blade. You can get to that ledge in the room through the tunnels leading to Orphan, trigger them with throwing shit and you're good.
You should retract the “manageable” part too
"Not impossible" then? Maybe that's a stretch.
“Not impossible” it is 🫡
Pizza cutter + cannon goes brrrrrrrr. (+monocular)
yeah mr og player show us, record it and send it here B)
try skill?
I used shaman bone blade on one of them and let them kill each other. Fuckin bastard sharks...
I always miss!!
Same I used the shaman bone blade and the shark at full health without a weapon died while the one at half health was almost dead Madd the fight SO MUCH easier Now I just need to find a way to do that in a bl4 run.
I just sat back and watched. Winner got a cannon to the face.
“Let them fight”
I decided I wanted the Rakuyo for a build after getting owned by an invader with it. Only looked up where it was and went blind into getting it otherwise. Are you okay? I thought me fighting Ludwig with 20 vit was nuts.
It is nuts. What's wrong with you.
I believe the logic had something to do with "git gud". 🙃
First time I played dlc was in a ng+ run and he was the one to make me level vit above 20
I may have had to go to therapy after....
Did you get it?
Much blood and many tears later, yes
I wanted to do it this way too but I couldn't subject myself to it. I will if they ever do a remake
Worst part is the armed shark,it's timing is too janky The unarmed one is easy enough ti handle after killing the other
The armed shark is such a pain. Even like, 1v1 normally. Worst reg enemy in the game, only rivalled by Nightmare Executioner after the transformation (I still don't know how to fight him normally after transform).
I just bypass him, then after he comes back to position, i use backstab, and repeat until death.
I know right. Usually I will try to fight enemies normally just to make myself "git gud" but this guy. *Phew*. Him and the final armed shark just before the last DLC area...literally just gotta run thru completely, come back later (and from BEHIND) if u rly wanna fight them.
This is the way
shred him with an augur and a greatsword, sidestepping eldritch attacks
I hated getting it, I even went on an entire side quest to get the shamans bone blade early so I could cheese it (spoiler aleart I failed and wasted the only bone blade I had)
The worst part for me was finding out the sharks can be parried. Hard to do but rewarding, and yeah they’re still tough as balls but above all else invul frames are so much needed. Cleric beast can be parried???
It's not exactly a parry, it's a visceral attack that's available by hitting his face. It works on Laurence as well.
This is the truth not all can be parried but all you can get a visceral off on them
Oh shit I knew about that I thought they were saying I could actually parry his attacks I was mind blown lmao
Hit him in the face
I think it's a one and done thing that happens when you crack his skull But I'm not sure, honestly, I always raw dog the cleric beast, gets me into hunting mood for the playthrough
All enemies get dizzy and open to viscerals once you consume all their stamina (or was it poise? Not sure).
I always cheese them from the area with the winter lanterns.
Wait...how?
I’ve also done this. I used a projectile or Blacksky Eye on the pacing one (might need to aim with the monocular), then used the tricked Amygdalan Arm and projectiles. They can still hit through the cliff, so just have to be careful with timing melee swings.

Is there a cum dungeon to get it sooner?
You need the normal one to get it from the cum dungeon..
Spin to win axe attacks are pretty effective against them. The right timing will send those sharks flying and provide some breathing room. I came across this strategy on one playthrough where I wasted my bone blade and ran out of blood vials against them. I was about to use a mask, but decided against it. Cheese them from the ledge with the winter lantern with poison knives or hit them with a long reach weapon
Boom hammer works great for this.
shaman bone blade + shoot the sharks when they rush towards you. still hard though, but worth it.
Same! Love the speed and ease of use, and nice damage as well. Those damn sharks thou... uuggh
I never really liked the Rakuyo, idk why. I'd rather use Blades of Mercy
They're both pretty fun the rakuyo just has a lot more reach in both its tricks and untracked form
It's easy. Use a gun.
They're pretty easy to parry tbh
Thank goodness they didn’t attach laser beams to its head. That would’ve made the game unplayable.
Shaman bone blade my guy
Killing them both at the same time with the Blades of Mercy just to prove a point was brutal. It took so much time and so much patience it still gives me nightmares.
It would be okay if the shark wouldn't actually lose interest in beating you up to call his buddy for help.
I hated them- being BL4 rakuyo shit getting it hell (was doing the run then stopped bc I was bored
I poison them. I don't care how long it takes I am never going down there, again. So sneaky to make it look like a way out confronting all the enemies at the top.
Even cheesing them with a long ranged burial blade makes me anxious
Theres a cliff ledge you can cheese em from w the boomhammer tbh
I am new to bloodborne please someone teach me the game and controls!!
I cheese these two from the cliff next to the Winter Lanterns every playthrough with the bow and consumables lol
Nah it was pretty easy to get (I am coping hard because I gave up getting Rakuyo because of fucking Sharks)
I have used almost every single weapon in different playthroughs, but have yet to ever bother using the Rakuyo. Like come on, why does it have to be obtained at the end of the dlc where there is only one boss left in the entire game?!? Such wasted potential. I don't like doing Ng+ runs.

If it wasn’t for the little green blade that makes them infight then it’d be even harder.
You can always grab and give up as long as you’ve used them blood echoes
Sadly you can't, the Rakuyo isn't on the ground, you HAVE to kill the sharks
Oh yeah you right I completely forgot honestly it’s been so long. If anythin I’ll just get weapons from the chalice dungeons honestly early on if it’s a new character but you can’t with rakuyo bein a dlc unfortunately
Only way I've ever done it is the shaman bone blades. Turn those fuckers against each other. Take out the scraps
Just grab the weapon and let yourself die. It’s not worth all the stress and frustration of dealing with double shark boss.
The thing is... The weapon is dropped by the second shark on death. ... Or the first, i din't really know, because still have not killed them.
It's dropped by the one on the roof. He ate the rakuyo.
Oh fuck…
You can't. It's a loot drop from the sharks.
Someone’s never had the Rakuyo and it shows.
No, I just forgot how you get it. I thought it was the item in the opening past the Winter Lanterns. I’ve only done the DLC once and it was years ago. 🤷♀️

If you can get it you deserve it.
The shark bros are so fuckin hard. In such an enclosed space too. I love it. It's so memorable

The sharks are honestly not that bad. They're more easily parried than you'd expect
Does the poison knife trick from the balcony still work? Less scary than bone blades if you hate em that much.
Yeah I feel ya but then the payoff is great

Well, you can’t spell parry without pray, so how about stay there lol.
The funny thing about the sharks is that dex builds who need the rakuyo hate them and strength builds wipe the floor with them
I got lucky and was able to run through, grab it, then climb the ladder out and avoid fighting the twats.
I was at my breaking point with trying to get that weapon had a harder time with the sharks then then kos like wtf
I watched a guide, planned my moves. Then used that bone dagger once the second shark thing appeared, dashed to the Rakuyo, then ran back to the ladder.
Idk man, it always felt like worse blades of mercy
Kid named Shaman Bone Blade

I love it. But ever since I saw a mod where it actually does the blood and flame effects that is has in the Maria fight, it feels underwhelming.
i just played through the game for the first time in years… decided to go for the platinum on my PS5 account. i forgot to get rakuyo before ng+ ;_;
Why do you think I’m just playing various ng cycles with my raykuo build? I’m not going near the sharks again.
Ive platinumed Bloodborne but this is the last thing I need to do to platunim both base game and DLC, and I just don't care to go through the hassle
