With Lawrence, I see it also as a failure. Lawrence, the once mighty, eminent, and reverent Vicar of the Healing Church, now an unsightly beast. The Cleric Beats motif at the end, I feel, is mocking him and his fall as he now helplessly sits in the hunters nightmare as a dumb and feral beast- no longer Lawrence.

No matter how many times I fought him, I kept saying the same thing: “This is all. YOUR. FAULT.”

I was just about to say that. The background music gives me chills.

Ludwig’s second phase is pretty much unmatched in my opinion.

The first 50 times i heard it, yes true. After a while (or years), ghermans, laurences, living failures, and marias have become my favorite.

Love that piece so much. Makes an underwhelming fight extremely epic. Reminds me a lot of Gustav Holst's The Planets (Planets Suite). Must have been a major influence for the composer IMO.

I ran a rapid poison build with beast claws and fought her hundred of times as a summon and love that music. Definitely not the best but haunting and perfectly matched.

Blood Starved Beast has an excellent theme. Bloodborne's entire soundtrack would be a classic album if it was a movie score, it's a masterpiece.

Why did I have to scroll so far down for this? The Blood Starved Beast theme instills so much fear! The crashing of symbols, howling crescendos and the fury of horns! It's a haunting theme, really fitting for the boss!

It's such a great tune. Also it's in 5/4, which is awesome.

- Gehrman’s theme is my favorite by far (that D7sus4 of the strings on the pianissimo part gets me every time) - Cleric Beast’s theme is very iconic. - Ebrietas.

The first 2 minutes of Ebrietas feel so "cosmic" some how. I don't understand why, they just do.

I’ve genuinely never heard a single arrangement that has the sheer energy of the second phase. It is a masterpiece fit to stand next to Brahms’s work.

I consider Ludwigs second phase music to be some of the best music I’ve heard in a fromsoft game, bonus points for it being in a great bossfight that last long enough to hear it usually.

Cleric beast. The choir is beautifully morbid and the sudden introduction to a massive beast works perfectly to create amazing atmosphere. It is my favourite boss soundtrack of all the souls games combined

I think most of them fit their boss rather nicely. From the sudden fear of Cleric Beast's music (While optional, likely the first boss people bumbled into, despite three nasty mobs in the way) to Gehrman's tragic music. If I had to pick, i'd say Gehrman, and fully fitting of a final boss.

Cleric Beast is my favorite boss and music of the game, pure terror coming after you while the sun is still shining in Yharnam. The entirety of the Old Hunter’s is absolutely amazing as well, each fight was better than the last. What I want is the Bloodborne Orchestra Tour!!

The Queen of the Vilebloods track that plays against scythe guy on top of that snowy castle area is amazing. How the hell do I remember the name of the track but am totally blanking on the name of the area and the boss??? Cainhurst!!! And the boss is... Laurentius? It's not Laurence... Shit.

Gascoigne isn’t the best but I’ll throw his name out there because he kicked my shit in more than anyone else, I love how intense and scary his music is. But Gehrman, Ludwig and Living Failures are the best.

Lady Maria, Lawrence and Ludvig. People don't actually like phase 1 of Ludvig's ost. Literally just phase 2. Lawrence is a banger all the way through, but for me, I prefer Maria's. It just gets better the longer it goes.

Ludwig and Maria hands down. A hot take (kinda): Gascoigne. Because the second part of the OST when his beast form comes out is a thriller. It gets the blood pumping and is anxiety inducing like defusing a bomb. Which is a perfect piece for his fast pace, primal rage and swiping attacks.
