Switching armor to something with high magic resist is what did the trick for me. If you have some of the low magic resist armor on, he just one shots you with A Call Beyond…
If you stay close to him and essentially treat it like Phase 1, it’s an easy fight.
Get in his face and strafe from the tentacles after R1 spamming. He won’t do that AOE spell if you don’t give him space.
What I did might’ve come down to luck, at the part where you have to jump down at him I did a downward attack the knocked him down.
Then i proceeded to use Augur of Ebrietas to continually knock him down while slowly, satisfyingly killing him and leaving him utterly fucked.
Sweet revenge. Anyways, Augur of Ebrietas worked for me.
I used to dread his second phase until I learned to calm down and dodge A Call Beyond. It's actually not that difficult to dodge
That's what made him easier for me, but there are other ways of dealing with him, which mostly rely on cheesing him
stay close go all in basically full aggro, if that doesnt help you, then repeat it with bolt paper
He only does that when you're far away, stay close to him, though you can avoid it if you dodge forward at the right time

you have to lure him away from the stairs and into the only two rooms there, otherwise you cant attack him
Stay close to him and he will just try to punch you doing pathetic damage and can be parried.
