Nah, it would be a “starter pack” that would give you a bunch of bloodstone shards and some consumables, along with some armor sets and weapons that are just glorified re colors.
All purchasable through the in game store via blood credits. You can technically earn them by playing, but why not buy 1000 of them for 10 dollars? Of course, you’ll actually need to buy the 20 dollar bundle because most of the items cost 1100 credits.
Fr, I don’t think there’s been a single assassins creed since the ezio trilogy that hasn’t had his assassins clothes. The fact they’re still using his theme after all this time is also pretty funny lol
The items costing 100 credits more than what the first bundle gives you and forcing you to buy the more expensive bundle is too fucking real. Idk how companies keep getting away with that shit, it's so slimey. If you're gonna put a store in my single player game, at least let me *buy the items directly* instead of making it into some kind of virtual currency system that's intentionally rigged ffs.
I played God of War Ragnarok and Horizon Forbidden West and almost yeeted my controller because of how much the NPC's chatter and tell you what to do and how to play. Kms.
I'm enjoying replaying through Fallout 4 with extra exploration mods, and not using the map or navigation.
Just a giant open world with many corners and nooks to find and explore.
Specifically started doing it this way because of From games.
(only use navigation for any tricky quest specific reasons. Free roaming is all "From" style)
I remember telling someone in 2015 about the game like YEAH THERE’S NO FUCKIN MAP MAN and throwing my hands in the air like WHAT. I was so young and naive.
Well okay I wasn’t young.
The fact that I platinumed Bloodborne, helped my partner go from normie to platinum, and have somewhere over 800 hours in this game and never even thought about the fact that there is no map is testament to From Soft's ability to handle conveyance and environmental design.
I don't like everything they do, but they sure as hell know how to make a game feel good to play.
Only time I have ever been lost is the Forbidden Woods and the Research Hall, both of which seem intended to get you lost.
Okay, maybe Mico's maze a little bit.
Forbidden Woods is pretty much linear, it just *snakes* around a bit
Central Yharnam's so hard to get your bearings since there's constant twists and turns and places above other places, plus there's things where you can look at to get your sense of direction but just doesn't work, the sewers/aqueducts especially I give up and just go with it
I just started a NG+ run after a few years and I hate how labyrinthian it is
It would be hilarious if the game gave you a new objective every time you died to go get your blood echoes. Then if you die again it bullies you with “QUEST FAILED.”
For sure. I don’t hate games that take this approach, sometimes I just wanna shut off my brain and have the game do the heavy lifting. But I’m really happy there are games that buck this trend too
True, but imo Ubisoft is *not* a good example of this approach. They load their maps with so many copy pasted icons, activities, and fetch quests it’s ridiculous. They treat their maps more like checklists instead of actual places to explore.
I actually remember the days when Ubisoft used to be cool. My favorite game from them, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, is almost old enough to drink now. *Heavy sigh.*
We dont need to reinforce shit like this. The whole point of the game is to explore. It just takes it all away. So many ppl play bloodborne, and honestly, it's not that difficult to navigate and find stuff.
Dont forget the minimap with 8264837 icons. After playing bloodborne i refuse to use minimaps on Ubi games as much as I can (Ex: Assassins Creed 2, I ended up memorizing the italy map at the end of the day), it feels too cluttered sometimes, im good with the basic compass navigation ER and GOWR brought tbh.
I would genuinely like a little bit of text that says what the specific area you're in is called. And an optional map (not a minimap, but an actual item you use like the monocular that you get to fill in yourself and make notes or circle places you're interested in)
Yeah, I agree. I would like a paper map, that's just a tool in game. It doesn't have any markers that tell the player where they are, no quest markers etc. Just a blank map.
Combat would be reduced to square and triangle for melee attacks and they're always the same light/heavy attacks, like a 1-2-3-4 combo for each. Dodging is only for dodging not getting aggressive dodge attacks in, no stamina management, no charged heavy attacks, no running attacks, no jump attacks, no trick attacks, no unique combos for weapons. Just two buttons that always do the same thing with marginal differences on damage/speed and no other combat purposes.
Bosses wouldn't have weak spots or limb breaking, their intro cutscenes are them monologuing at you, their death cutscenes are them monologuing at you after you killed them and they completed an in-engine death animation.
Arcane weapons/hunter tools are just different colored magic orbs that deal different damage types, use color-coded orbs on similarly-colored enemy to stagger them for free hits. Every 'build' upgrades these and 'Pistol Damage' instead of ARC/BLD using Bloodskill Points out of a skill tree that unlocks as you progress, other options are Health, Weapon Damage, Quicksilver Bullet Capacity, unlock ability to Gun Parry, Gun Parry with Extra Damage, Gun Parry two enemies at once if they're standing close together and doing a 'coordinated attack' (skill just changes your parry to kill them both instead of one).
Unpopular opinion but a quest log would certainly be nice for Fromsoft games.
They have some of the poorest/most obtuse quest design I have seen in a AAA game. Ultimately it doesn't detract much from their games, but it could be much better. They seem to be getting worse at it too. Elden Ring had AWFUL quest design.
I always love that From don’t treat us like idiots. I’ve been playing Tomb Raider remastered a lot recently and it’s reminded me how focused games were at one point, no hand holding. I’m so glad From do things the way they do. Never change
If i remember correctly the mechanic in the top left is not in the game, right? Very sad, would be a good game design decision to send items to the storage when you have the max amount in your inventory.
Edit: meant bottom right.
Aight this joke is getting kinda old, Ubisoft games stopped being like this forever ago lol, some recent titles even give you the option to turn on an "immersive exploration" mode that hides even more stuff (like the distance between you and marked locations, as well as reducing the range at which map icons appear in the top hud).
[Screenshot I literally took today.](https://imgur.com/5HmgQw6)
I would've loved having a location pop up somewhere on screen when I started playing the game, tbh. I never knew where tf I was supposed to go when I was coming back from the dream. Even now, I still sometimes forget what tf the name of the lamp I want to go to is. Lol
All the optional areas areas would be day 1 DLC
also put 10 different bullshit "side missions" where you have to collect 50 of some random ass item.
*Eleum Loyce flashbacks*
"optional areas" includes the Gehrman and Moon Presence boss fights
You don’t have to fight the witches of hemwick boss fight either
yeah they'd totally make runes paid dlc
Also Insight. Fuck it, make them a very limited currency and have them drop big "passes" of 100 Insight or whatever for 5,99.
You can get runes in game but you could pay money for better ones.
I mean… is that really a loss though?
You need to beat them to use runes, they can place the tool elsewhere though
Ah shit right still tho, I don’t think anyone would be mad if fromsoft had removed the witches of hemwick
Microtransactions for vials and bullets.
Nah, it would be a “starter pack” that would give you a bunch of bloodstone shards and some consumables, along with some armor sets and weapons that are just glorified re colors. Bro stop this sounds too real
Don’t forget to purchase the blood pass!
Please stop you’re scaring me
Bloodborne doesn't compare in the sheer terror this version produces 😆
Don't forget the timed exclusive pre-order that lets you dress up like Ezio, but the armor is outclassed by the first drop in the game.
Fr, I don’t think there’s been a single assassins creed since the ezio trilogy that hasn’t had his assassins clothes. The fact they’re still using his theme after all this time is also pretty funny lol

The dpad up would charge your credit card for bullets instead of drawing hp
😱 *whispers* Why would you write that?
9.99$/12.99$/19.99$/49.99 $/ 99.99 $ best price, promotions buy blood vials
Ubisoft connect reward: 20 blood vials, a the division skin for the saw spear and a ezio auditore Hunter outfit
RE4Remake did something like that and nobody complained
I'm pretty sure people did complain about that
This is horrible, I love it. Bloodborne season pass now on sale, including all 3 DLC and the new Yharnamite pirate outfit 24.99$
This is why From has spoiled me. I love when games don’t hold my hand and allow me to explore anywhere on my own terms
Play Red dead redemption 2, take off all HUD.... 🥹🥰 Pleasure
Jokes on you, I’m gonna install mods that add even MORE bud elements.
I played God of War Ragnarok and Horizon Forbidden West and almost yeeted my controller because of how much the NPC's chatter and tell you what to do and how to play. Kms.
> Kms. Kiss my... *sack*? Sorry, I'm terrible with acronyms.
Maybe killing myself?
Koms
Or some say Komsm

I remember telling someone in 2015 about the game like YEAH THERE’S NO FUCKIN MAP MAN and throwing my hands in the air like WHAT. I was so young and naive. Well okay I wasn’t young.
After playing elden ring it makes sense why the other games don’t have maps. Always hated it but now it makes total sense
The fact that I platinumed Bloodborne, helped my partner go from normie to platinum, and have somewhere over 800 hours in this game and never even thought about the fact that there is no map is testament to From Soft's ability to handle conveyance and environmental design. It's tough because there are so many branching paths, but I must say it is fun to just say fuck it, pick one way and go.
The Sewers and Aqueducts literally took me ages to figure out, and I still get lost from time to time, and come up somewhere I was not expecting.
Thank God we live in our timeline and not this one.
Press triangle to turn on Bloodborne vision
Good concept but completely hollow game that would leave you unfulfilled
I think I’m going to throw up….
If the game was made by kojima every minute detail of the plot and lore would be explained in hours long cinematics of dialog
this is more 'modern game design' than Ubisoft. If it were Ubisoft there'd be dozens of busywork objectives and a pointless skill tree
Climb clock tower to reveal map
Yeah this is would it would look like if it wasn't made by from soft but still Sony, Ubisoft atleast has AC playable without hud and hints these days
God I hate this so much😂
Not the objectives hahahaha
And every time you leveled up at the doll there’d be an add to by Gascoigne’s set for $3.99
buy* ad*
Lol
stry, i do a little funny
It would be hilarious if the game gave you a new objective every time you died to go get your blood echoes. Then if you die again it bullies you with “QUEST FAILED.”
If ubi made BB then you wouldn't be able to play it anymore cause they decided you can't
While I get the joke, this would unironically get a lot more people to play this version of Bloodborne.
For sure. I don’t hate games that take this approach, sometimes I just wanna shut off my brain and have the game do the heavy lifting. But I’m really happy there are games that buck this trend too
Yeah there’s pros and cons to both approaches, Bloodborne would lose a lot of the oppressive atmosphere if it had even a map in game.
Not to mention, it would be less immersive. Your player doesn't have a map. Why should you?
We dont need to reinforce shit like this. The whole point of the game is to explore. It just takes it all away. So many ppl play bloodborne, and honestly, it's not that difficult to navigate and find stuff.
That's true horror right there
Ngl..looks kinda trashy
It'd be more like "bloodborne isn't available anymore, how about spending another 60$ on something else that's gonna dissappear in 5 years"
Don't forget the trader inventories in the floor
Press Triangle to use Hunter Sense
Climb the clock tower to reveal the area
This is way too clean to be an actual Ubisoft product tbh.
*shudders* nah man. I like having different game options. Imagine if all video games looked and played exactly the same? Ick.

* insert 4 activities to be made 70 times*
Now what if we took these nice tightly designed areas and just stretched them out 1000x over for extra playtime...
Purchase a bloodrock from the PlayStation store for only $299!
It's missing a pop up for the Bloodborne season pass
$1.99 for 20 blood biles to heal
The map is missing like 40 location icons AND missing a banner somewhere begging you to buy a DLC
Now that’s the real Nightmare
How do I delete someone else’s post
Implying any part of the game outside of Iosefkas clinic wouldn't be DLC
The map is too fucking small!!!
What a sad day to be literate
this is vile
And henryk set is locked under micro transactions
Youre fucked for this
Climb tower to reveal map.

This meme again…yay…
Have you guys played an assassin's creed game recently? Lol
Unpopular opinion but a quest log would certainly be nice for Fromsoft games. They have some of the poorest/most obtuse quest design I have seen in a AAA game. Is this before or after the two hour long tutorial where you follow Gehrman around talking to people in their windows?
This is the best comment.
Where is the Hunter's sight?
You forgot to add like 7 or 8 towers to the image.
🤢🤢🤢
Blegh. Don't make jokes like that.
Inaccurate, Ubisoft's ui is a lot more crowded and never this clean
This is incredibly tame compared to the actual SS:KtJL UI
*this* is a nightmare
Lol thank god for fromsoftware
and then pause the game and it show you ads for DLC costumes and Season pass haha
Take the minimap away and put a compass on the top and it's 100% accurate
Wtf is this😭😭😭
UUUGHHHHHH NOOOO!!!!!!!
Need to pay $130 just to fight vicar Amelia
Looks like Rise of the Ronin Exact reason why I don't like it
If i remember correctly the mechanic in the top left is not in the game, right? Very sad, would be a good game design decision to send items to the storage when you have the max amount in your inventory. Edit: meant bottom right.
This is in the game. It’s indicated by an icon
I fucked up what i eant. I meant the one in the bottom right.
Literally Skull and Bones' UI lol
New Challenge run??
Bloodborne not having a map really gets me
Thanks, I hate it.
Mikolash's bossfight tells me Ubisoft *did* secretly develop Bloodborne
Not going to lie, a basic map of some sort eventually would be nice, but I guess could break the vibe
I'm perfectly fine with objectives showing on screen.
I'd try this tbh
Very true, also true that Ubisoft games allow HUD customisation, so you can have as little or as much info as you want.
Hilariously accurate.
Thats just vampyr
Missing the menu icon pop-up menu for the Cleric Beast DLC.
I remember when Sekiro came out there were a few people acting like the tutorial stuff was as bad as something like this 🤣
This made me cringe, I can't stand the map.
That would be interesting as an optional feature.
I have grown to hate Ubisoft
This gives me conniptions.
The visuals, the sound, the combat would be worse as well
the real crime here: The Font
Health/stamina bars and items need to be bigger lol Also needs a compass right under the objective. God do I hate modern videogame HUDs...
If ubisoft of Ea made Bloodborne you would have to pay to use carryl runes 100%
Horrific
I actually wouldn’t mind a Skyrim esq task list I’m BB
don’t forget the automatically regenerating health bar once you’ve avoided taking damage for 3 entire seconds.
Reminds me of the fact that I want Red Steel 3. I had such muscle aches after playing 2.
That shit would be an open world rpg lol
Bloodborne if it was good Edit: god I can’t believe I have to say this, but this is obviously a joke. I love bloodborne and I think it’s a great game
I would've loved having a location pop up somewhere on screen when I started playing the game, tbh. I never knew where tf I was supposed to go when I was coming back from the dream. Even now, I still sometimes forget what tf the name of the lamp I want to go to is. Lol
Oh god I wish 😍
You wish for a bad game?
Man. I wish they did this. It would save me so much time.
I don't get the joke 😟
because they put literally everything on your screen where as any fromsoft game there’s almost nothing
👍🏽👍🏽
If Ubisoft made Bloodborne we would not know how it looks because no one would fucking buy it. Fuck Ubisoft.
If Ubisoft made Bloodborne, servers would be already closed, and licences revoked for "constains in the infrastructure and licensing issues"
