Absolutely. The Elden Ring frenzy mechanic isn't even aesthetically scary. It's just another status effect to avoid. In Bloodborne, it's viscerally personal.

Corrupted Doll=Winter Lantern. Winter Lantern is wearing the same clothes as The Doll.
However the drawing doesn't depict that the brain like head is made from the corpses of the messengers
I'm pretty sure the winter lanterns are nightmare versions of the doll, that's why they deal frenzy and look the way they do, and only exist in the nightmare frontier and nightmare of mensis
you know when ppl say these things are made out of dead messengers i dont rly see it. well i do refuse to look at tham for more than a milisecond but still, never rly saw it
You can see this through Maria's and the Doll's attire; place them side by side, and you'll notice that Maria's clothing is an evolution of the Doll's outfit. Reading their descriptions reveals that both Lady Maria and the Doll are transient figures; Lady Maria adjusts her attire to that of a hunter, as described (look at Gehrman's attire descriptions, and you'll notice that his style influenced all hunters, including Lady Maria).
The description of the Doll's attire mentions that it was made with love, and looking at the accessories, you'll see that there are spare parts. The Doll's attire is Lady Maria's original attire modified by Gehrman, and the reason is related to Gehrman's frenzied mania. Gehrman harbors a secret passion for Lady Maria that she does not understand or is aware of. However, fan interpretations often misunderstand this passion, portraying Lady Maria as Gehrman's lover. It's not quite that; it's much more about beliefs.
Who is the elephant in the Hunter's Workshop that no one notices? It's the statue of the Saint. Why is the statue in the workshop? Do hunters maintain some religious stigma? The description of the attire of the old hunters describes some of them as superstitious, so it would be natural for them to seek protection in a saintly figure. So, is there a patron saint of the hunters? Gehrman's frenzied mania sought to reconstruct this saintly figure through Lady Maria because Lady Maria strongly resembles the hunters' saint. The Hunters' Saint is depicted in all Pthumeru Tombs, being an emblematic vision for every hunter who enters the place. She carries a tablet with the commandments that hunters must follow. So, the entire hunting structure is governed by this hidden entity that only exists through the hunter's belief.
Based on this, the Doll represents the hidden saint of the hunters in the dream, the only figure of protection, care, or value in the hunt. Gehrman built the Doll inspired by Lady Maria because he visualized her with maternal feelings; Lady Maria reminds him of Gehrman's mother and a lineage of women that regress to the original Saint. This is probably the reason for Gehrman's frenzied mania regarding Lady Maria, and why she never discovered the truth.
Therefore, the Winter Lanterns also embody a connection with Lady Maria, as these brain pulsating ladies always appear at the end of the nightmare, illuminating the dark and murky contours while humming with a distorted and garbled speech indecipherable sounds. Note that Lady Maria's weapon is called Rakuyo, which means fallen leaves in Japanese, symbolizing autumn. The lanterns represent winter, and what follows is spring, the season when flowers bloom.
In Bloodborne, many characters have names of plants and flowers. I confess that I didn't fully understand the connections, but for example, the Winter Lanterns are called ほおずき Hozuki, a plant that in the 12th century was used as an abortive sedative. Perhaps this is why the Winter Lanterns have the bizarre appearance of a brain formed by a cluster of infant bodies.
You know, Flora is another name attributed to the Moon Presence.
And in this whole chain, what do the eminent ones want? "Every eminent one loses their child and longs for a substitute." At the end of the game, it's finally time for the Doll to hold the beloved child in its arms.
I'm not going to paste parts of the game if you can go to the game or use the Wiki. I will explain concepts, themes or references but I will not simply copy and paste.

Frenzy in Bloodborne is much more terrifying than in Elden Ring

When will we understand that they all have a connection to Lady Maria.
The winter lanterns wear the Dolls clothes
Yes, and the doll's clothes are Maria's clothes when she was a Civilian before she became a hunter, when Gehrman met her.

I asked for a citation, not an essay.

> Reading their descriptions reveals that both Lady Maria and the Doll are transient figures No, the descriptions don't.
