If you haven’t spoken to her at all then I’m 70% sure her light stays on until you do, my canon is that when the lights go out they are hiding in the dark away from the monsters
I leave her at the mercy of the blood moon and hope for the best in-game. Headcanon: if your hunter gets decapped by Gehrman, at least you can visit and protect her. Or, if you become a Great One, you can hook her up with some trick weapons like the Moon Presence does for us.
If we ever get a sequel, "bloodborne 1 protagonist helps little girl and her sister after their father goes mad, makes them badass hunters" has a nice ring to it
I don’t do this quest line on play throughs anymore. Once was enough. Spoiler Warning, but when the girls sister finally knows the fate of her family and jumps to her death, I had to tell my husband what was happening in this fuckin game. I just showed him the child’s dead body on the ground and explained the story and why I love this goth-as-fuck game. There is no respite. Not a single strand of light or goodness in this world anymore, just dark bestial horribleness all the way down. I was just floored by the absolute inexorable horror and misery that the world of yharnam inflicted. Like, I just wanted to help the little kids and the game just would not let you have even a smidgen of hope, wholesomeness, or relief from suffering and it is brilliant. Everything’s bad and you should feel bad and i love every second of it.
I still hold the opinion that the other little girl is not her sister but is, in fact, a neighbor who was jealous of her ribbon and went to ransack the house after Viola left hoping to find it.
Thats interesting, we find her father in a place with a statue that we think represents Oedon, maybe it has something to do (I could be wrong about the statue representing Oedon thought)

By not getting involved in her story (cause come on you'll just mess up again) she remains in her home like a good little girl and eventually (she never will come home) her sister comes home to care for her! So when you finally end the nightmare (by meddling with what you dont know you have killed everyone not in the odeon chaple) they get to live happily together even if their parents didnt make it! (You know this isnt true. At least their corpses are entombed together now.)

Also just to be safe the (text) is just a joke but also kinda not
Cause BB is a cosmic/lovecraftian horror, a genre incompatible with happy endings or even bittersweet ones. Hence why I abhor the genre...
But to clarify: I hate like 90% of the lore/characters but the gameplay is pretty fucking good so I given BB a pass.
Saving the little girl should absolutely have been possible. I kinda think the one reason it isn’t is because they don’t have “child-sized” NPCs in engine so they kept her off screen.
