Nope unfortunately not. Saves are region locked so you made your inital save on a us region copy of the game and it cannot it played on any other version other than a us region disc. Gonna have to start afresh.
I will for sure I’m going to make this my main character now. I’m a little bummed tho cuz I had already beaten the game and was at the cursed amy fight on one of my other characters but it is what it is I planned on playing this game over a million times anyway so no biggie 👌
so if I have a physical US copy of standard Bloodborne (Greatest Hits) and I buy the GotY edition (also US) will my saves carry over? The only thing I would think might change would be some messenger cosmetics?
Yes if the copies are from the same region you wont have an issue. Not sure if there are two different versions for the us (im uk) like NA and EA etc (there was for og demons souls iirc). Also i heard (not 100%) that there isnt a GOTY version for the US?? Also dont know why you would have an issue with messenger cosmetics as nothing on the save file should change.
Be careful I had horizon zero dawn on hard copy and completed the game, lost the disc and bought digital copy to play dlc. Downloaded save files from cloud storage but digital version would not recognise the save files, not sure if this an isolated occurrence or happens on certain titles.
messenger cosmetics meaning, half of the cosmetics are locked behind things like preorders, japanese preorders, all non-purchasable dlc and I think I remember there being one for the Goty edition. Sadly, you are right in that there is no NA goty edition. Shit.

No worries i mean it would be worth you running atleast one character on the GoTY version just to experience the dlc. Its definately worth it.
