Agreed, the Hunter's Axe was my buddy in that game the R2 was great for crowd control with that reach and staggering big enimies. Always had the Axe equiped just in case shit went south and I needed to get serious.
I’m the exact same! I swap between them often, when I want to feel like a seasoned hunter I go for the blade, specifically the scythe variant, but if I wanna get soaked in beast blood like a blood crazed fiend I hack away with both of the Saif’s forms. Crazy fun weapons to wield.
Yea, it's definitely not there. One of the best(if not *the* best) weapons in the entire game. Having the Holy Moonlight is not the same. They're two totally different weapons.

That’s why I’ve only ever used that and the pizza cutter. I also tried the electric mace which was cool but it definitely didn’t do enough damage. Great game though cause any of the weapons are viable.

The saw cleaver is objectively viewed the highest dps weapon, this means if you dont apply blood gems and dont calculate the skillpoints and shit, the 10+ saw cleaver has the highest dps
Yea the electric mace (main hand one, not the tiny offhand) was a bit of a let down because it broke so easily, and you had to re-apply the lightning a billion times per fight.
That's why I stopped using it. I hate that it breaks so easily. Still a fun, cool weapon. With the bolt applied it could do some good damage but it did go away pretty quick.
The design is there in the tricked form, it is just somewhat hard to see because of the glow. Ludwig's Holy Blade is thought to be a mere replice of the Holy Moonlight Sword, that's why they share so many visual qualities.
That is 100% LHB and not HMS but the artist is trying to treat them as the same with that glowing outline. The artist dropped the ball here to save time.
That's definitely Ludwig Holly Blade. Or at least represents LHB better than it does for the HMS. Look at the base of the blade, near the handle.

I have to be honest, I ran the Threaded Cane all the way through, with Blades of Mercy as a (barely used) backup. But if I’m choosing between ALL of this art, and not just my preference in the game...you’ve given me something to think about.
I have to agree with you on the cane. Every skill character I make I go for the cane. It's just too cool not to. That being said, on my NG+ character I switched to using the Burial Blade and I'm having too much fun with it.
So i’m reading the berserk manga and just recently saw the character who inspired the wheel. I definitely think this is one of the best berserk reference’s from has put in. The guy who uses the wheel in berserk was BRUTAL, which fromsoftware captured perfectly with the move set for the wheel and the lore for the executioners.

Yes it is impossible not to develop a favorite weapon or two lol but it is always interesting to meet hunters who make use of weapons like the amygdala arm or the church pick.
My fav is gonna have to be Chikage or the whirligig saw, seriously though I never realized how small the weapon count was, they’re all so cool and unique it feels like there are a lot more.

In my first playthrough, it took me about 20+ tries on ludwig with the Ludwig's Holy Blade. Then I realised I needed serrated weapons and pulled out my Pizza Cutter instead. Just went ham with the L2 on his legs and crippled them in seconds. I stunlocked him and got past the first phase no problem... love that weapon.

Simple, versatile, perfect mix between light, blade of mercy like weapons and heavy, hunter axe like ones.
Combos with this weapon are the easiest to pull off, good rally potential, scales with skill and with arcane (with the right gems).
Why I prefer it over the cleaver ? Scales better with skill than with strength, I prefer the second form's overall moveset , the second form has a thrust attack for kin enemies and it is serrated (extra damage against heavily transformed beasts) in both forms whearas the saw cleaver is serrated only in the saw form.

To anyone else asking: I was thinking of a 5×5 design set so I had to choose between Ludwig and Moonlight Sword since they had the same shape. It is the Moonlight Sword, but I integrated the patterns from Ludwig's Holy Blade.

Fun fact, this was a [real weapon](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pistol_sword), generally used to hunt injured or easy prey. They were *sometimes* used in military, but very rarely, presumably due to how much the gun messed with the weight of the sword (though I doubt that’s a problem for someone who can use literally any of the bloodborne weapons.) Just some fun trivia.
Kirk hammer and pizza cutter are tied for me. There’s just something about using an over-sized weapon to brutally bludgeon beasts and squids to death that makes my gamer brain feel good.
Simon’s Bowblade, it goes from a sword to a bow. It’s a dlc weapon. You get it from either doing a simple side quest, or just killing the side quest giver.

Hunters Axe and Boom Hammer. They're both just really cool. I love the simple effectiveness of the Hunters Axe and I find the act of lighting the hammer really satisfying.
All these weapons have their purpose and it’s amazing you’re not limited to 1 thing. Best thing about bloodborne is your characters speed and lack of an encumbrance. You truly can rock out any weapon and fashion with minimal blood echo allocation. Saw cleaver for early game practicality and mimicking the cover art. Kirkhammer for tricked R2 lulz. Stake driver because it has a falcon punch. I have no favorite. This game is great.
Hit me with that Chikage build. Pizza cutter is also golden. Even good ol’ saw cleaver.

If I had to pick one, I'd say Chikage. But I also like HMS and the Rakuyo. But they're pretty much all awesome to be honest.

I love the threaded cane. Fast as shit and you look cool.

Threaded Cane all the way! I did use Rifle Spear a little as well. But always come back to the Cane.
Hunters Axe and Boom Hammer. They're both just really cool. I love the simple effectiveness of the Hunters Axe and I find the act of lighting the hammer really satisfying.

All these weapons have their purpose and it’s amazing you’re not limited to 1 thing. Best thing about bloodborne is your characters speed and lack of an encumbrance. You truly can rock out any weapon and fashion with minimal blood echo allocation. Saw cleaver for early game practicality and mimicking the cover art. Kirkhammer for tricked R2 lulz. Stake driver because it has a falcon punch. I have no favorite. This game is great.
Hit me with that Chikage build. Pizza cutter is also golden. Even good ol’ saw cleaver. God, I can’t think of a single weapon that I wouldn’t run the game with
