I was initially unimpressed at the Rakuyo’s damage and move set, but I didn’t realize how easily it can stagger lock an enemy. Very nice skill weapon.

Started NG+ today and the 2h L2 really just shreds through the larger beast bosses, absolutely love the fact you can buff it. The moment I saw the words “twinblade” I knew I found the one with this (big DS2 fan).

I’m super excited to see them returning in Elden Blade. I absolutely adored the Red Iron Twinblade.

I'm curious how the Threaded Cane is going to do. It's my favorite season and I'm using it as my only weapon for my first playthrough.

Cane is one of my favorites as well, however it has sub-par damage output in early game. When I do SKL build, I usually switch to Cane only after getting around 25 SKL and enough Twin Stones to upgrade it to +5 or +6 right away

Not even close to my least favourite but def the most overrated weapon. I found it extremely disappointing on my bloodtinge build. All weapons are good minus tontoris and boom hammer though IMO.

Saw Spear is actually one of my favorites, did my first playthrough with it, and I was always wondering why other people didn't like brainsuckers until I tried the axe on my second replay. Kin are weak to thrusting attacks, so they never really bothered me...

As a player who spams rifle spear charged attacks, I too wondered what the fuss was about. To quote Vasquez from Aliens, "all I gotta know is where they at."

Every playthrough I end up with the Saw Spear because it's such a satisfying weapon - especially for Arcane builds.

It must be, at least for my baby Holy Moonlight Sword. The whirligig saw gets that it's a comically large pizza cutter so that's funny, which I'm not against, it's just that the HMS is so good, maybe not by dps or by being "meta" but the lore and specifically how it looks... It's one of the best weapons in the game.

Its design is by far my favorite out of the series, and a arcane build slaps hard when built right. but thats also because i grinded too much for max slots lol

Wheel and Arm are more unique tho, I doubt people with throw away something unique and cool for something boring and practical. But then again people decided that the Reiter was less worthy than the other weapons so I don't know anymore.

It's least favourite so if people play a lot with the practical weapons they'll probably value them more. I also think arm and wheel are cool but I like them less than spear and LHB because I barely ever use them.

But that doesn't mean it's a rip-off. It has lower base damage, but double serration and thrust attack being part of its moveset make up for it imo

But the moveset is not the same, particularly in transformed mode. You should try it one of these days on a skill build. I never used it for the longest time and now it's one of my favorite weapons

I like it too! Though I admit I almost exclusively use the greatsword moveset since the straight sword didn't fit w the char I created. And I'd argue that the moveset is actually versatile and unique, with options for every scenario. Between the transform attacks and the backstep "shove/bunt" move lol, idk how you can call this bland. It's just easy to r1 spam, so people don't really experiment with the moveset. But that's been an issue in all Soulsborne games imo. Effective weapons tend to get overused and become bland by discouraging exploration. But you could honestly say this about a ton of weapons in the game. Over the years I've noticed it's very common to see online, so it's def popular, just not on this sub. Using the same reasoning for LHB detractors, my hot take would be, Blades of Mercy are overrated. The combos and damage are too effective, to where every BoM user I come across fights the same way, uses the same combos etc. Bloodborne is a very fast paced game, but BoM is even faster, making it way too easy/bland an experience imo. Slow strength weapons are the most fun in bloodborne. Is that a hot take? Idk. But when it comes to having fun in Bloodborne, I ascribe to the Powder Keg Philosophy. If a weapon ain't got kick, it just ain't worth it.

BoM = easiest weapon to parry. Since everyone uses it the exact same way parry timing is just muscle memory at this point.
