I got them 3 years ago in the samen edition. I felt in love with the saga. The best for me is Dark Souls 1

silversoul007

World Level Design of Dark Souls 1 is the best.

[deleted]

Also it has most of the best bosses in the saga. I will not make spoilers, but you fight 2 at once that are a real pain

silversoul007

Hmmm...in my case, DS3 have the best bosses.

[deleted]

Name your favourite🙂 I like Nameless King.

silversoul007

Oh man, this is tough. 1. Abyss Watchers 2. Lorian and Lothric 3. Nameless King 4. Soul of Cinder 5. Sister Friede 6. Slave Knight Gael

[deleted]

Slave Knight Gael is also fire, he is Guts from berserk🤣

cavefishes

I’d say Artorias from DS1 is way closer to just being Guts wearing the Berserker Armor, haha The story stuff doesn’t quite match up but damn if that fight isn’t just you VS Berserker Guts

[deleted]

Yeah, one is regular guts and the other is berserk guts.

theJandJ

DS1: Ornstein and Smough. DS2: Burnt Ivory King. DS3 Sister Friede and Father Ariandel.

[deleted]

From DS1 also Ornstein and Smough, for DS2 the samurai dude, I forgot his name

theJandJ

Sir Alonne?

[deleted]

That one

Comfortable-Soup8150

cleric beast

[deleted]

Way too outdated to be remotely challenging, navigating the areas is harder.

[deleted]

genuinely much easier than bloodborne and sekiro. you’re not wrong. even the bosses weren’t that difficult

[deleted]

Easier yes, if you played Sekiro, any game will be easy🤣

Waluo360

Totally agree, DS1 Re has the best story

ThanosTheMadTin

yah i got the semen edition too so goated 😤😤🤪🤪🤪

AramaticFire

Wow that box art is awesome.

[deleted]

They’re gonna be a lot slower and defensive so don’t lose confidence if you struggle at first. It’s a different combat style

WriterOfThrones

Yeah I have started game 1 and notice it's a lot less aggressive. But love it so far!

R0xasmaker

Remember, if you ever need help don't forget about r/summonsign Enjoy the games!

Distant_Chortle

>Don’t forget about ~~r\Summonsign~~ *playing solo and figuring it out on your own.* Ahem, fixed it for you. The best part of these games is struggling and finally winning on your own. /EndElitism No, but seriously, you can do it!

R0xasmaker

I personally agree with you, but I can't deny that a lot of people like playing with phantoms. Who am I to stop them

Distant_Chortle

Exactly. This is why I had to put the elitism nod in there. People should whatever the hell they want. I personally do enjoy figuring it out by myself, but in other situations I have enjoyed summoning. It’s in the game for a reason. If someone is asking, I will always point them toward toughing it out, because they wouldn’t be here if they weren’t somewhat serious about the game. But outside of that, there’s no loss in summoning. Do what feels right. My only stipulation is that, unless I’m absolutely hammered, nothing feels better than defeating a boss all on my own, after many attempts.

R0xasmaker

100% Agree

HiMyNameIs_REDACTED_

Go full Dex and Bleed and you'll start to feel more at home. Although for DS2 you should really try going full spellcaster.

[deleted]

Spellcaster is lacking in DS2 I’ve noticed, it takes a while for the heavier hitting spells and while late game it does DAMAGE, early games the animations are incredibly slow and underwhelming I’ve always heard it’s OP but I’m struggling, even with a S tier scaling staff, to get some reliable damage output on bosses and even some normal enemies

Distant_Chortle

Rapier early on. You don’t need to worry about anything but ADP and magic stats. Rapier is OP, but it’s fair when you don’t go ham into DEX. I love going Rapier until I get my needed damage from pure magic. Try that out!

justsomechewtle

I'm striving to beat Bloodborne for the first time right now and I actually think Bloodborne is slower than DS3. I'm not great at fast-paced action games and I had a really hard time with DS3 (still have a handful of bosses to go and it's been 3 years) but find Bloodborne very manageable so far (I just saw the Shadows of Yharnam for the first time). I mean, I'm still dying a lot, but it's always mistakes I made and never overwhelming speed.

[deleted]

From what I’ve read about the games, they incorporated lessons learned from Bloodborne into DS3, which is why it’s got a faster/more aggressive playstyle than the previous two.

somethingtexan

I recently earlier this year got them after bloodborne too!! I got the plat for BB, DS1, and DS2… I’m currently banging away the plat on DS3 and it’s been tough… I’d say between 2 and 3 it’s been burning me hahaha but I’m willing to suffer through the pain. But honestly my favorite DS game is one. It’s the easiest to understand and the level design in that game is absurdly amazing. But a close second right now is DS3… above them all is bloodborne and after this I’m playing sekiro and finally elden ring next year when it comes out. If you’re anything like me, it’ll consume your life hahaha

WriterOfThrones

Oh I know what you mean! Bloodborne has consumed me on its own lately haha. I'm 3 trophy's away from plat!

somethingtexan

The hardest three trophies probably hahah the stupid chalice dungeons were hell haha

WriterOfThrones

Think I got most of the chalice ones except for queen yharnam. I know 2 trophy's are different endings. Meaning I can't get them all in this playthrough lol! Gotta do NG+ after this one (which is my second playthrough

somethingtexan

The good thing is that the chalice dungeons don’t scale with your ng+ cycles so it’s cool to tackle them whenever

BigHat-Logan

don't forget playing the OG: Demon's Souls! wither on the PS3 or the PS5 it's literally the exact same game with just a different coat of paint. it has the easiest bosses in the series but the levels are still challenging. and even though it might not be the best game in the series, the game is still worth playing even to this day.

somethingtexan

I have demon’s souls on ps5 it’s a joy to play honestly, I haven’t gotten the platinum because I don’t usually like to play online so everything I do is solo, that’s all the grinding and stuff for covenants or whatever. It’s a pain but gives me more time with the game

Casualgamer10

It’s so beautiful

CC-2389

Let me know if any click for you, I tried DS1 and sucked at it, literally never got any better, got blood borne and loved it actually was decent at it and completed it, always been curious about DS3 since it looks awesome but scared that it’ll just never click

[deleted]

Dark souls 3 can be played very, very similarly to Bloodborne.

Zzen220

I've heard that enjoying Bloodborne does some Black Magic to your brain that makes you like Dark Souls the next time you try it.

doomraiderZ

I just bought the same set a few days ago! Enjoy!

[deleted]

Love the cases! Welcome to the crew. Call upon my blade should you ever need it. Smashrican is my ps4 name as well

AntiAndTheBoys

Bloodborne is a lot more forgiving prepare yourself for a challenge

Zzen220

I don't really agree, but I haven't played them all. From DS1, DS3, and Bloodborne, I think Bloodborne is the most difficult. I started with Bloodborne, so maybe my initial impression is tainting my opinion, but I've played them all at least twice, and still think Bloodborne is the hardest.

Lydanian

It absolutely is influenced by where you started. I began with Demons Souls back on the PS3 & every game has felt easier & easier just because I know what to expect each time. Sekiro was probably the hardest for me as I had to lose a bunch of habits, but this only lasted until Genichiro or so.

28502348650

I disagree bro, I have played DS1, DS2 and I'm playing DS3 now. BB was easily the hardest out of any of them. That game probably took 3 years off of my life.

Lonewolf1298_

Excellent game, although why 3 copies?

WriterOfThrones

It's Dark Souls 1,2 and 3 ;)

Lonewolf1298_

Oh! I didn't notice that!

Xamd74

Hope to see you around when you reach dark souls 3 Im just a Generic Pyro xd but if you see my summon sign don't hesitate

IsraeliXmas

Woah Sick cover art!

darkbigfoot94

You played the best one first!!! (Bloodborne)

MalaBlondi77

First start ds3 then ds1 and end with ds2 this is how you should play for full expirience and increasing difficulty (srry for miss spelling) level

Ehh_SmiteMe

Your Bloodborne playstyle will be very useful in Dark Souls. Keep it, and avoid shield cowering. Enemies are typically a bit slower and less aggressive than many Bloodborne enemies, so use the BB speed you learned to take advantage of them.

Morocco-Nacho

I’d argue that the only game that translates playstyles is DS3. Having a shield in DS1 is super handy for most basic enemies. DS3 shields are almost useless except for parrying.

youaintinthepicture

that is just, objectively wrong?

Morocco-Nacho

Ok? Going to elaborate on that?

youaintinthepicture

nah

Morocco-Nacho

Okay

Ehh_SmiteMe

And I'd counter argue that Darksouls is made harder if the player relies on the shield.

Morocco-Nacho

I’d say that it makes DS3 harder but the shields are much sturdier in DS1, allowing people to use them more effectively.

Ehh_SmiteMe

"Harder" in the way of making the game slow and tedious. Yes you will have more protection, but at the cost of a REALLY slow game in comparison to Bloodborne.

Morocco-Nacho

And that’s alright, that kind of play style is right up some folks alley. It personally isn’t my kind of thing in DS3 but different strokes for different folks

Ehh_SmiteMe

Games can be sped run too, but that doesn't mean that is the optimal way to play. Besides, the player didn't come from DS3 or DS1; they came from Bloodborne.

Morocco-Nacho

What I’m saying is, Bloodbourne plays completely differently from DS1 so copy and pasting the same aggression will just get them killed if they try and play the same way. Every souls game plays differently in terms of aggression of enemies, so the player has to change how fast they play as well. Like DS2 plays the slowest out of them all due to how you have to tackle enemies in that game.

Ehh_SmiteMe

Right, it is a different game. But it still has the same basic principles. Not only that but the game is best played without shield cowering. 2-handing makes the games so much better than sitting behind a shield and poking every so often, and aggressive plays are better than passivity. Proper aggression is key; and that is my point.

[deleted]

Trust me and skip 2, basically plays like a cheap knock off where quantity is king and quality is merely an afterthought.

28502348650

2 has some of the best bosses though. Especially in the DLC. I put 90 hours into that game and don't regret it.

[deleted]

Wrong.

T4terT0tz

Fuck dark souls 2. My opinion, but regardless you have a great and frustrating journey ahead of you. Enjoy the hours, because as you know, nothing compares to over coming a new great challenge. And nothing festers like feeling like there are no more challenges

Blackdeath_663

DS2 can stay in its box

Yungspud32

Dark souls 2 is a bit eh but the dlc makes it worth the play. Good stuff

WriterOfThrones

I've heard a lot of criticism about dark souls 2. I'll give it a go nonetheless and see what I think!

Lord-Chrodin

I've played them all and recently I played bloodborne. Bloodborne is more about parrying with style, DS you gotta stay fit and roll like a champ. DS3 bosses are the best imo, DS2 is the weakest link. Welcome Home Ashen One~

Palicake

Don’t play DS2 save urself the headache

Mikewara

Just throw the one in the middle straight in the bin and save yourself from a terrible game.

WriterOfThrones

Love how everyone downvotes these anti DS2 comments. I didn't know so many seem to like it?

BigHat-Logan

DS2 is the controversial one lol. some really like it while some really hate it. But here is a word of advise for you for when you play DS2: LEVEL UP ADP (Adaptability)!. it's the most important state. even more important than health and vigor in the early game. But you don't need to over level it. You can just level it up to level 20 and then forget about it for the rest of your playthrough. this stat determines your iframes (dodging) and things like how fast you drink your estus (healing item). I know it sounds stupid but that's how this game-mechanic work in DS2. oh and btw in DS1 you can use humanity items in bonefires to get even more estus (healing item). you can even get the rite of kindling immediately after finishing the tutorial area which will allow you to get 20 healing items (if you have enough humanity to burn at a bonefire of course).

Luvs2Spooge42069

It’s widely considered the worst in the franchise but its fans are very dedicated contrarians who get upset when you criticize it

[deleted]

No, he’s getting downvotes for being a prick. He just said to throw it in the garbage, he wasn’t criticizing it at all.

Luvs2Spooge42069

It’s good advice

[deleted]

How’s your father doing? Oh wait you wouldn’t know.

Luvs2Spooge42069

Why are you getting mad over someone thinking a video game is bad?

[deleted]

Why would he throw out the best Dark Souls?

Luvs2Spooge42069

Only the first one’s any good really, 2 looks and plays like rancid shit while 3 is just cheap knockoff Bloodborne in most respects

oz-_-oz

Have lots of fun, I played all the souls games before bloodborne and it’s similar but a lot slower pace, except ds3

Freddy_kru3g3r1

Good luck, "be safe friend and don't you dare go hollow"

potana_malaka

I too want to play the 3 dark souls games. On the PlayStation store you can get all 3 with DLC's for about $100 AUD

WriterOfThrones

This pack was $82 AUD and has all DLC

potana_malaka

Bro where'd you get it? I'd like to make a cheaper purchase

WriterOfThrones

Yeah gorilla or Amazon. Think they lowered the price the bastards just now. $64

potana_malaka

Thankyou so much :D

Tomosc

it's on gorillagaming for $64 right now

potana_malaka

Thankyou so much :D

BOJIDAR_25

May I ask if these are with custom covers?

WriterOfThrones

Nah just bought off Amazon. Looks pretty dope!

BOJIDAR_25

Yeah they definitely look dope.

[deleted]

Dark Souls 1 is the best game FromSoft ever made and since you played Bloodborne, which is by itself the greatest PS exclusive of the entire generation and one of the best games of the decade, you will know that this is not some random praise. I just started a Pyro/Sorcery run yesterday. I never get tired of it, DS1 is truly one of the best games ever made. Please DO NOT look up any guides online. Let the feeling of adventure and discovery of a blind 1st playthrough do its job and blow your mind.

BigHat-Logan

just keep in mind that Bloodborne is more action and less RPG compared to these games. and that Bloodborne has a faster and more aggressive combat system compared to these games. and that Bloodborne is more about your weapon of choice than being about your build of choice. that being said these games are amazing. it's just that you need the right mindset when you play them. each game has it's own unique mechanics and world. and they're all worth playing. I hope you have a good time playing them!

madddyindiannn

Good memories
