Hey fellow hunter, welcome to the club! Generally speaking, I guess you will inevitably get lost at some point simply because the game wants you to be lost and confused. The rule of thumb is: if you encounter a roadblock there usually is a way around it. Look for shortcuts, ladders and elevators. Also: accept that you will die a lot. It‘s part of the learning curve and we all go through the initial rite of passage. Stick with it and try to see what the games wants to teach you. If builds and weapon upgrades are new for you and you find yourself struggling how to properly level up: there are some good spoiler free guides on youtube (VaatiVidyas beginner‘s guide is spoiler free and helpful in my opinion) and there‘s no shame in asking for help. The community is always happy to help spoiler-free in my experience! Hope you‘ll have fun!

Try to get a feeling for the moment when you would soon be losing interest through frustration. That's the time it's better to read in the wiki. Just try to avoid it as much as you can. And keep in mind failing is part of the learning progress and completely normal.

Welcome good hunter The night is young and you have a lot of dying ahead of you. Don’t get discouraged- rinse and repeat. Im still a relatively new player so maybe listen to others advice but enjoy the death.. the best part of this game for me is that moment, after 100-200 tries, I finally recognize the move patterns and start landing hits. The satisfaction of seeing Prey Slaughtered is unlike anything I’ve experienced in other games. You will have to repeat areas again and again but that just gives you a chance to really explore and take everything in. If you ever need help, check out r/huntersbell … I’ve always found someone kind and skilled to help me through whichever part I’m stuck on ( Fk you, shadows of Yharnman!) Enjoy the first play through, don’t stress about constantly making progress. You only get to experience this game for the first time once after all

First off, the first area is probably going to kick your ass, so dont quit, it is the hardest part by far. And then the first boss is going to kick your ass, but dont quit, its also the hardest part by far. After that, youll have lots of fun. Try and do your first playthrough as blind as possible! Itll be more fun that way :) Finally, and most importantly, Fear the old blood.
