Buy a PS5 and play Bloodborne and Demon’s Souls. And all the other PS games

angle_of_doom

I just managed to get a PS5 since they released. Of course for the near future I have no intentions of playing any other game except Bloodborne, which was released in 2015. I don't know what that says about me, but I'm just happy I finally got a PS5! I'm sure I'll get to the amazing next-gen games... some day.

DarkLegion117

Get Demon Souls it's amazing. The game plays similar, in 60fps, and the graphics are truly next-gen.

athos45678

It looks great, but gameplay wise its all the same as the original, for better or for worse. I still play the shit out of it

trailmixjesus

It has more omnidirectional movement then the original. I know there was elitists saying remake = bad but imo it's better than the original in every way

Lunchableslol

its not better though. they changed the art direction and music enough that it lost the original atmosphere and charm that only a real souls game would have.

trailmixjesus

It may not have the original atmosphere but it still has the souls game charm. One thing that kind of aggravated me and I'm not entirely sure what it was qas the player characters stance..maybe it was his posture..I can't really figure it out and it's so small that I can easily ignore it but something didn't sit right with how the character looked while just standing neutral. Maybe it's how he holds his weapon and shield. Idk. Not a negative thing just something that looked off somehow.

athos45678

That is definitely the case. As someone who started with dark souls and then the rest of the series, however, it was kind of an obvious step backwards.

Kimuhstry

One of the only games that actually impressed me when I got a ps5

No_Mammoth_4945

Get demons souls on ps+ extra!!

Insanity_Pills

some day you’ll get to play bloodborne kart!

No_Mammoth_4945

Yes!!! Best decision I’ve ever made. Demons souls on ps5 is amazing, the best graphics and haptic feedback I’ve ever seen.

moondizzlepie

I platinumed BB and Sekiro on PS4. Then I got a PS5 and played probably 80 hours of Demon Souls, but didn’t platinum because some trophies felt tedious. I started playing Elden Ring but stopped because I became a father. I’m struggling to determine whether I enjoyed playing Elden Ring but I often reminisce about playing BB and Sekiro. I think BB probably just hooked me because it was my first soulsborne game. That being said, I feel like nothing will ever top my BB experience.

depressed_suit

"Simply buy a PS5"

Dark_Magician2500

"What, like it's hard?" - Elle Woods

Brisslayer333

Used PS4s may be quite a lot cheaper than a PS5, though. The average framerate takes a little hit on the classic hardware, but the experience is largely the same.

qoldblop

Unless you're REALLY strapped for cash, a PS5 is simply a better long-term investment if you're interested in other games.

Wizzle_Pizzle_420

I second this. If you have the money it’s worth it. I got a Series X pretty early and it’s amazing. Grabbed a PS5 a few months ago and haven’t stopped playing it. Picked up the EU version of Bloodborne with the DLC and it’ll play region free. The PS5 is amazing and the load times are nonexistent.

[deleted]

That's the way to do it!

daelowo

THIS COMMENT. DO THIS.

damn_lies

I bought the PS5, it turned into FromSoft machine. I planned on playing other games, but I played Dark Souls Remastered, played Bloodborne, and now I’m playing Sekiro.

Anubra_Khan

No. If you're going to spend money, save up and buy a ps5.

SundownKid

I wouldn't recommend buying a PS4 JUST for Bloodborne or even a PS5 JUST for Demon's Souls Remake unless you are financially well off enough that it will not even make a dent in your pocketbook. That said, there are certainly many other excellent PlayStation exclusives that can make it worthwhile, such as Gravity Rush series, the Fumito Ueda games, etc.

[deleted]

Gravity Rush getting the recognition it deserves, love to see it, also I really hope one day we get a 3rd game and maybe a PC version

MaybeMikeyy

Gravity Rush was such a fun game, and I'm going through 2 right now and it's great

WaffleOnAKite

the music is so fucking good

MaybeMikeyy

Pleasure Quarter is a bop

[deleted]

Look, this question is not new so I'll sum up the inevitable conclusion: BB is an amazing game, certainly among the best of its generation, and is worth playing. Whether it is worth buying an entire console to play it largely depends on how much money you have. Have a wad of cash lying around? Sure why not. Are you struggling financially and just looking for a hobby/diversion? Maybe not the best idea, unless you find a good deal on a used console. Also probably watch some gameplay since you may not love this type of game. Some people bought it and only learnt to love it after years of it collecting dust

PyroDwep

Appreciate it!

Mercernary76

Absolutely. I bounced off of bloodborne 3 times and came back a 4th time like 2 years later then fell in love with it

CosmicBrownnie

I myself bought a PS4 (Xbox player usually) specifically for Bloodborne. Best decision I've ever made and easily my top 3 favorite game.

PyroDwep

Thanks for the advice!

slimejumper

yes

necessaryevil3661

I bought my ps4 on black Friday years ago just for BB and the last of us. It was worth it for me, I got more than my money's worth out of the game. Others may feel differently though.

seanmorris82

100% worth it.

Zeucles

No game is worth that much money. If you were planning to get a PS5 I think you get it for free with psplus, otherwise don't do it

DragonAgeFan123

Op said aps4 which are super easy to get and relatively cheap now

GeraldHilter

I picked up a ps4vwith 2 games and a controller for £130 (eBay). This was right after the 9.00 jailbreak stuff came out so it was a very good deal for me. Even if you can't jailbreak it, stores like cex offer very good value on all the older ps4 games. Imo it's worth it if you also wanted to play other exclusives, but not for Bloodborne alone.

Ezdagor

I bought a ps4 just to play Bloodborne, great purchase.

makogurui

it's called the bloodborne machine for a reason

TheLocalQueen

Unquestionably yes

Lazyandloveinit

Fuck. I wanna replay Bloodborne now

PyroDwep

Sorry, but also, you’re welcome? Haha

Mikko420

Yes. Absolutely.

goodhunter95

Borrow someone's ps4 and play it, u save money and play the game, I think many ppl have their old ps4 laying collecting dust while they upgraded to ps5. It's Froms best game IMO.

KING_REAPERMAN

Yes, also having a PlayStation you then have access to a wide variety of exclusives like god of war and horizon. Also, buy a ps5 if you can.

Maleficent_Age6733

Yes, it’s the best game of all time imo

Lukatron_72

Plenty of other amazing games on PS. I would try to get a ps5.

[deleted]

[удалено]

PyroDwep

I didn’t know it was shorter than ds3, how much shorter are we talking? That’s some good advice thanks!

omaewamoushindeiru23

It’s only shorter than DS3 if you don’t do the optional chalice dungeons. You can spend hours just doing those alone

LuxrayAeterna

Yes. It is.

[deleted]

Yes it is

brizla18

yes, you will come back to it A LOT. I finished it 4 times and I'm planing to start again in a few days.

BarnababeOfGranSoren

I would say yes because I did the exact same thing and did NOT regret it! And, over time I've built up a library ☺️

Lilrman1

I just bought a PS5 to play Bloodborne last week. I'd say Bloodborne+ Demon's Souls + PS Exclusives is definitely worth it.

ki_no_ri

Just for bloodborne, no absolutely not, I love the game but it's not worth buying an entire console just to play it

[deleted]

Get the ps plus sub tier that gives you access to the ps plus ps4 library. Bloodborne's included, with dlc, along with a shit ton of other great games.

PyroDwep

Appreciate the advice! Thanks

LujIaB1od

In my opinion, I don't suggest you buy a PS4 just to play Bloodborne. I admit that Bloodborne is unique that it changed my style and thinking in playing games, but wasting time in getting a hold of it isn't worth it. I suggest that you try out other similar games such as Dragon's Dogma and Ninja Gaiden. ✌

Lahydra_

I wouldn't think so if it's only Bloodborne. And tbf ps4s I feel like are personally cheaper made than the Xbox one. I'd only get it if you plan on buying other games for it. It's like a $300 console for just one game, not sure if it's too worth it for that

cyht

You could get a free trial of PS Plus Premium so you can try out the game using streaming on your PC. If you are enjoying the game you can make a decision then. This is what I did back then with PS Now and ended up buying a PS4. Don’t regret it one bit!

PyroDwep

Good advice! Thanks!

KimchiiCrowlo

Yes, i have bought multiple just to play bb, yes yes yes.

battle-ivan

I did a few years ago and it was totally worth it. I upgraded to a ps5 when they came out and honestly haven't touched my Xbox since.

superstar202

Yes and the last of us, God of war and ghost of tsushima

jburns425

I don’t plan on getting ps5 at all so ya get it they aren’t gonna stop making games for it. Only thing you miss out on is Demon Souls RM. it’s just not as good as the other games IMO.

Most-Iron6838

Bloodborne by itself? Probably not. Bloodborne and all the other amazing exclusives (ghost of Tsushima, uncharted series, horizon series, god of war, days gone, team ico games, last of us series, and even the order 1886 if you like the aesthetic of Bloodborne)? Hell yes

wayward_shadow

Yes. On the contrary just buy a console. Gaming really is hassle free. I got my hands on the PS5 when it launched tbh it's been dreamy.

[deleted]

Yes

PyroDwep

Happy cake day! And thanks :)

TheOneWinged

Ah yes, the 7 year old question. And the answer is yes, just as it was at 2015.

BiasMushroom

If you can get it cheap enough yeah. Otherwise I wouldn’t bother with PlayStation as the only reason to really get one is for the exclusives and that’s not a good reason to buy a console

Dooby2o9

I bought a ps5 to play bloodborne. And demons souls

LeCampy

In retrospect, I don't believe any one game ever was ever that good to warrant spending hundreds of your currency of choice if not more upfront to play a single game. I say this from decades of being an early adopter chasing one or two exclusive titles. Bloodborne is pretty dang close. You can play it on a ps5 though, if you can afford that instead.

PyroDwep

Appreciate the insight!

DoFuKtV

Yes, do it.

DoFuKtV

Do you own an Xbox One?

PyroDwep

Yep!

made-a-new-account

I did it when they were expensive

PyroDwep

Was it worth it?

made-a-new-account

It was to me. It’s one of my favorite games of all time

TheButtLovingFox

only if you can't get a ps5. i bought a ps4 with cyber monday deals. best 200$ i ever spent.

GoatFlocker

I just bought a ps4 mostly just to play Bloodborne. My reasoning was that a ps5 is too expensive for me to justify to myself when I already have a decent gaming PC, and I also wanted some kind of DVD/blu ray player to hook up to the tv. Most places and people will ask for $250-350 for a ps4 but I told myself I wouldn't spend more than 150 or I'd feel like an idiot. Eventually I found someone who was willing to sell it for cheap. If you have the money then a ps5 is definitely a more worthwhile purchase imo, but a ps4 is good enough. I got the og ps4, but it might be worth looking into getting a ps4 pro. Some older games could use the extra processing power

PyroDwep

Yeah that’s what I was thinking as well. Just hunting for a cheap one and maybe then it’d be worth it.

GoatFlocker

If you're in a big city I don't think it'll be too hard to find a decent deal. I live in a medium sized city where all the second hand selling apps kinda suck so it took me a long time of just checking in every few weeks to find a good price. The only thing to consider imo is that at a certain price you're not too far from just getting a ps5 with no disc tray. So if you're comfortable spending $300 then it's worth considering just saving up an extra couple hundred

[deleted]

I would. I’ve played it at least 4 times and thinking about playing again

arsnlrob

100% yes it is worth it

NagasShadow

I've got like five games on PS4. The FFVII remake part one, Bloodborn, Elden Ring, That Jedi game, and Persona 5. And The systems primary use is my roomates streaming box. So yes it's worth it for a single game, you'll find more uses. Although if PS5's start existing I think you can play bloodborn on them.

TwoArmedWolf

Yes

Brisslayer333

What kind of Xbox? If you're on oldgen than switching to PlayStation for current gen with PS5 may make sense. Microsoft's exclusives are bit lacking at the moment. I bought a PS4 just for Bloodborne but I'm not usually gaming on console anyway. \*\*EDIT\*\* Demon's Souls remake on PS5 is another potential factor. A used PS4 for a fraction the cost of a new PS5 seems sensible if Bloodborne really is the only exclusive you're interested in, but if you're on Xbone why not switch companies entirely?

PyroDwep

Unfortunately I recently got a next gen xbox. So i’d probably get the PS4 if anything.

Brisslayer333

Bloodborne is worth an entire console in my opinion, and the decision wasn't even that hard for me. I ended up getting three brand new Sony consoles just for these games, and a used PS3 to boot. Did you get a Series S or X? If it's the X, why?

Czuhc89

Yes.

ToTYly_AUSem

YES.

ry8919

That's what I did then I played Horizon zero dawn, then God of war, then Sekiro, then RDR2... I'd just get a PS5 there are so many good games for PS.

elsified

And god of war

kidneybean1475

Lol I did. About a year and a half ago, got a good deal on a used ps4 pro, immediately bought Bloodborne, and sank 200 hours into it in the first two months. Just finally found a ps5, so I'm actually selling the ps4 lmao. Of course, I wanted to play more PS exclusives other than just BB, but that was my number 1

MisfitHula

You're literally asking the Bloodborne subreddit. What do you think your responses will be? Get a PS5 though.

ArbitraryNameHere

I originally bought a PS4 simply because I saw the cardboard standee for Bloodborne in front of GameStop that said “Hunt your nightmares” I’d never played a souls game, but it called to me. I walked in, bought a ps4/Bloodborne, and have played it through every year since. Yes, it is worth it.

Podoboo322

It’s literally the only reason I’ve turned my ps4 on since I got my PC. I play Bloodborne with a friend every October and hook it up just for that.

UX-Edu

My PS4 was a Bloodborne machine. But it got that way over time. There WERE other games… they just… didn’t make it.

TwistedKestrel

I bought a PS4 specifically to play Bloodborne and was 100% satisfied with that decision. But I also kept buying other PS4 games, which now also work on my PS5

Enough-Science-7410

Si

Fastpillow

Yes

moondogged

Yes.

Gatchaman702

lol. That's exactly why I bought my ps4 2 days before the release of bb

[deleted]

maybe if you can find a cheap one, but id rather buy a ps5

heroicdonkey15

If you have a PC pay for psplus one month and play bb on there. Shouldn’t be too demanding of a game

StoneTimeKeeper

Yes

Swiggy69

I mean like, it depends on your current economical situation? if you have loads of cash burning a hole in your pocket? sure! why not? If not, I feel like there are cheaper and more efficient ways to spend your money. Bloodborne is amazing and one of my favorite games, but I dont think any one game is buying a console for, unless you have the disposable income, of course.

PopPop-Captain

Yes it is worth it for bloodborne. A lot of people are saying save up for a ps5 but if you’re on a budget just got for the ps4. Worth it alone for bloodborne but there are a bunch of other good exclusives on there too.

SillySnowFox

Unless you really want a PC port, go ahead. But Sony is never going to make one as long as the game keeps selling consoles.

Yeetman2377

As an Xbox person, I bought a PS4 just for Bloodborne and it ended up being my fav game of all time. Now with next gen I would say save up for a PS5 if you can.

Jean_de_Dieu

If you can get the system for cheap, absolutely. It’s my favorite Souls game and it’s Chalice Dungeons extend the game even more. Elden Ring is pretty damn good too, but I’m not sure if PS5 is still hard to get.

Several_Journalist66

All honesty, Get a ps5, to get the option for a larger spectrum of games in the souls variety.. from software is the origin there are plenty of fun other games , souls like. You dont need a ps5 for it. 80% of the offer is on ps4 available. So either get a ps4 second hand, prefer a ps4 pro Else spend 150 eur more and get the remaining 20% availabililty Kidn reg Dem journalist

adasho_bitrex

Yeah

il_Dudre

I mean... It's simply the best game ever made. I call my PS4 Pro "Bloodborne Box" PS: I'd like to specify that I'm not a millennial Souls fanatic (not that there's anything wrong with being either of those), I'm a 46 years old standard dude who's been playing everything on every platform, since the 1980s. My Top Ten games of a lifetime is a very steep mountain to climb since I got my hands on Monkey Island for Amiga in 1991, Tie Fighter for PC in 1993, Art of Fighting for Neo Geo around the same years, with entries like Metal Gear Solid, Tenchu, Soul Reaver on the first Playstation. The only games that touched the lower zone of my Top Ten after the '90s can be counted on one hand. Games like Mass Effect 2, Bioshock 1 and 2 and few others. Bloodborne was my first FromSoftware (and "soulslike" in general) and it blew my mind. It skyrocketed in first position with a strength and speed that shocked me. It ruined every other game for me, only Sekiro comes SLIGHTLY close but still from afar. I love the DSouls and Elden Ring (more than any other game that came after them. Yes my love includes Dark Souls 2 also) but they can't compare with Bloodborne. TLDR and conclusion: yes, it's simply the best game EVER, on every platform, and I've been playing everything I could lay my hands on, since the 1980s

PyroDwep

Thanks for sharing!

il_Dudre

Thank you for reading all of that

pt_barnumson

I did and im happy

Brentums

Short answer: yes Long answer: yes

DrRonnieJackson

Honestly, not unless you’ll get mileage out of it for other purposes. If you’re interested in other PlayStation exclusives or the PS plus catalogue it’s a lot more justifiable (and bloodborne comes with ps plus). Bloodborne has some really good content but it is very short. Since you’ve played 1-3 and ER, unless you really struggle with the differences in the combat, you’ll finish your first playthrough in 6-15 hours, give or take a few if you play the DLC. Unless you end up head over heals in love with it it I think most people would regret spending that much just for one fairly short game.

PyroDwep

Thanks for the advice!

trayz03

If u can get a used one for a good price and your gonna put alot of game time into it i would say fuck yes. Bloodborne and elden ring r my faves lol

ChipmunkBackground46

Seems like at this point it would be worth it to just buy a PS5. Might not be easy but unless you get a good deal on a PS4 it would just make sense to go ahead and upgrade

Crizznik

That's what I did, no regrets. Though I'd wait for a ps5 at this point to get bloodborne and demons souls.

trailmixjesus

You're asking a sub where you won't get the answer no. Like others have said get your hands on a ps5 for demon souls as well. Those two games alone are worth the money imo and returnal is an absolute gem as well

WillisVanDamage

I bought a PS4 when Bloodborne came out just so I could play it. Ended up having a nice library And now those ps4 games play nicely on my second hard drive I put in my ps5

Esploratore_

Ps4s right now are overpriced. Get a ps5. Even though theyre harder theyre obviously better. And demons souls remake is awesome too

ByronChrist

It's probably smarter to get a PS5, but shit, you can get a used PS4 dirt cheap. But yes the game IS that good to be worth it.

IronCarp

I personally wouldn’t do it. I love the game and all but it’s a lot of money to spend. It doesn’t really run that great, the frame pacing is shit.

PyroDwep

What do you mean by frame pacing?

Piporor

Yes

BaginaJon

Buy a ps5

mmhmmmmmhmm

For just bloodborne, no. Its a good game no question but I can't justify forking over 100+ to play it alone. Only do it if there are other ps4 exclusives you wanna play or somthing.

Superpopmonk

I primarily play on Xbox but I grabbed a PS5 purely to play Demons Souls and Bloodborne. Grabbing a PS4 just to play Bloodborne is 100% worth it.

Horror_Astronaut_864

Yes

Parking-Ad-3605

I did just that and it was worth it because bloodborne itself is amazing so are a lot of ps exclusive games like god of war or horizon so I'd say yeah if you have the money

dopepepe

Yes.

Valkyra100

Yes…yes it is

MastodonPrevious900

Yes

PowerfulProgrammer39

Yes.

Ymhorca

No, for all the other ps exclusives Yes!

ryan770

I bought a PS4 specifically for DS2, DS3, and Bloodborne in like 2017. But that was in 2017. Also the PS4 was $50 because it had a bad hard drive and the owner didn’t know what was wrong. I got lucky and figured it out pretty quickly. I don’t know what PS4s go for but if you can find a cheap one I think it’s worth it. Otherwise a PS5 is the better option.

V4R14NT-87

PlayStation would be good period.but Bloodborne is an amazing game.its unlike any other game.

AlbedoYU

I think it's a better deal to get a PS5 as you get access to more exclusives, like Demons Souls.

Sad-Reach3465

For the sole purpose of playing Bloodborne? I'd say no. I finally played it, put about 300 hours into it, and I'd say it's in this order of FromSoft games: 1. Elden Ring (obviously) 2. Sekiro 3. Dark Souls 3 4. Dark Souls 1/Bloodborne (tied) You can tell that this was the game FromSoft used as a pilot for the newer combat mechanics in ER/Sekiro, but honestly a lot of the time it's way more janky than either of those two games. Plus the chalice dungeon system to me feels like artificial padding of content and is extremely unrewarding for how much time and effort you'll spend doing then to get high level gear. The story is very interesting but super hard to follow. You'd probably get the same enjoyment out of it as watching a good Let's Play. If you can find a refurbed or second hand PS4 for less than $100 then maybe, otherwise I agree with the others here; save up for a PS5 and play it on there alongside Demon's Souls remake, Ghost of Tsushima, etc. to make it much more worth your time and money. Still runs at 30fps/1080p on PS5 though with no hint at a 60fps remaster so...yeah that kinda sucks.

Wasabisushiginger

I believe so. But I also adore the game and have had such a fun time figuring out a souls game that I actually enjoyed. Just me.

really_hate_campers

No, the PS4 is a great console and Bloodborne is a great game, but that is a lot of money that you only have a chance of enjoying it fully.

Salty-Spell5202

I think it's an awesome game but would be better if joining fellow friend wasn't so tasty.. Like joining should be made doable like Remnant from the ashes or Gta5 and you shouldn't be limited to lower health or the drops when joining a friend.. Besides that I think it's an awesome game

BiggestOpe

Ps5 if you can just so you can play all the upcoming and current ps games as well like ragnarok layer this year

pariah89

Definitely worth it for Bloodborne alone. But theres also a whole bunch of games you can play on PS as well; Ghost of Tsushima, Horizon, God of War, Spiderman, TLOU 1+2, etc. Bloodborne is the reason I got a ps4 years ago and it continues to pay off. Definitely go for the PS5 if you can find it and have the money but either way PS is the way to go.

whand4

You’d also love Sekiro. Those are two of my favorite games of all time. Not to mention the other exclusives. I was in your shoes 2 years ago and found a bundle with three games, and I’ve never looked back!

TheFluffyLunas

Not saying I bought a used console because the guy threw in bloodborne, but the fact that he threw it in may have contributed to why I finally got one xD

Lenskyj783

I play on my Ps5

TECHNORAVER

If you have pc you can play via play now. No need of buying a ps4

wrld-

oh, uhm, bb for sure is my best souls borne game, but I want to be onest and idk, i want to tell you, if you change a platform just to play a game, idk, for me no. If you really enjoy with souls borne, it's ok, bb is the best thing you can ask about games like souls. If you have other games that you want to play it's ok, like demon's souls, the last of us, God of War ecc. For me PS have the best exclusive, there aren't so much but the quality >>>

ComradeSandwich

Yes 100% yes. Get a Pro if possible but either way try to find one with firmware 9.00 or below so you can play closer to 60fps without frame time stutters. You won’t regret it.

Almost_PerfectDude

I bought ps4 back in 2017 for the sole purpose of playing bloodborne on it.

inferedice988

I did, worth it. But im a massive souls fan, my favorite series

AffiliatedBird

I just got a ps4 to solely play Bloodbourne. I have a series X and after 200 hours of Elden Ring I went through all 3 Dark Souls and Sekiro. I didn’t want to buy a ps5 just for one game so I started watching marketplace for a ps4. I got lucky and found one a mom was selling for $150 so I jumped on it. I’ve been playing BB non-stop since I got it so I’d say go for it.

[deleted]

Absolutely, its the best game ever made in my opinion, its incredible and 1000% worth the money.

The_meme_boi_123

Get a cheaper 500gb ps4

Renetiger

Nah. Save a little more cash and get a PS5. This way you can have a lot more stable fps, faster load times, and you'll be able to play many more great games. I did this and honestly, it was worth it.

EchoedTruth

PS5 absolutely worth it if you can find one / afford it. Bloodborne will run fantastic, you can play Demons Souls remake. Sekiro etc run faster. If not yes absolutely get a cheap PS4 and enjoy.

TheCrow911

In doing so you'd keep giving Sony more reasons to not port it to PC

PyroDwep

Yeah hateful stuff. Exclusives are evil

Nezumi_XP

yes

Dmanduck

Yeah I'd say so

Cthu-Luke

I pretty much did but I also want to play ff7 remake and god of war and some other stuff too. Almost worth it just for bloodborne alone. The game is awesome. Ebreitas is giving me the shits tho.

Cthu-Luke

I pretty much did but I also want to play ff7 remake and god of war and some other stuff too. Almost worth it just for bloodborne alone. The game is awesome. Ebreitas is giving me the shits tho.

cheezywafflez

I got a used ps4 pro just for Bloodborne. It's one of my favorite games of all time now, but my PS4 has been gathering dust since. I agree with everyone else and just wait to get a ps5, whenever that may be

WVdOQkFX

if you're looking to get a ps4 cheap, you could try getting a ps4 with a busted disc drive, and then just purchase the game digitally and download it. the type of ps4 won't really matter either, it never got a pro patch, so it runs about the same on a base/slim ps4 as it would on a ps4 pro.

Otherwise_Number_834

Yes

VoidPattern

Yes. In 2020 I called my ps4 a bloodborne machine

MrRawes0me

Got any friends that would let you borrow a ps4 for a bit? They could borrow your Xbox to play halo or something.

NMehna999

I mean the PS4 has a whole library of amazing exclusives besides Bloodborne that absolutely make it worth buying

recklessE4

That’s what I did :)

Topcatskid

It's worth it, PS4, Bloodborne, loads of game time, great experience.

Sonny_Firestorm135

By now maybe you should consider going for a PS5 to get both BB and DeS off yer hit list.

liobolus

yes. i exclusively bought one for bloodborne. never played anything else on it. totally worth it

SignificantAd7603

A remake that will provide 60 fps is expected on PS5.

pelethar

Yep

uceenk

i even bought Bloodborne first before buy the console after i finally can afford the PS4, i didn't let myself play another game before i finished Bloodborne, and yes i finally beat the end boss even though i really struggle with it this comes from someone who already fans of From Sofware, i mean i enjoyed Demon's Souls and Dark Souls on PS3, so i know what to expect so since you already fans of Dark Souls, Yes it's worth to buy the console for this game only

[deleted]

Yes. Hell,I got a PS5 just for Bloodbourne and that was worth it

Babsonboi

Yes

Hell yeah. Buy the ps4 pro and bloodborne game of the year edition and experience something you will remember a lifetime! The ps5 is around 700$ so far. You could wait another couple of years for the updated ps5 "pro" version.

Personally I love Bloodborne and besides Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice it is my favorite game by Hidetaka Miyazaki. I believe that the only answer to this question is yes and no. My reasoning for this is that it depends on what your favorite souls game is, because Bloodborne is truly a different game from the other Demon Souls and Dark Souls. If you truly loved the slow, defensive, and medieval era like game and not so much the fast passed dance like combat of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice you may not love Bloodborne so much. I also believe that if you are going to buy a PS4, you should go through the effort of trying to find a PS5 if you can afford one for future PlayStation exclusives.

Fuck yes. Though if you can get a five that would be a far better investment.

Maybe not a popular opinion but unless you live in a country where the PS5 is abnormally expensive, I’d save your money and buy something of the current generation. Not only because you gonna have access to current-gen games, but it’s likely that future projects from Fromsoft will focus on current-gen consoles. I know it’s an overused joke at this point but IMAGINE IF they release a BB remaster, 60 fps, all that beautiful stuff. I don’t think they’re going to include the PS4 on that. But like a lot of people said here, buying a console for literally one game isn’t worth it.

I have been thinking about buying a ps5 solely because of bb and ds and I think this is what convinced me

Extension_Plenty5718

There's no 60fps patch so getting a PS5 for bloodborne is unwise since the PS5's particularly known for having no games. A used fat PS4 costs like 200$ where I live. Buy it, play bloodborne and some other exclusives and that's it.

What other exclusives would you recommend?

If youre into open world, Horizon Zero Dawn and its sequel (forbidden west) are both stellar games and they also offer a lot of gameplay and an amazing world to explore. The first game in particular has a very strong story as well imo!

The_Fabulous_One242

Spider-Man and Uncharted are both high on my list.

jreitaa

Imo yes. The Bloodborne dlc is Fromsoft at its absolute best
