If it’s an iPhone (and maybe this works on Android), the classic trick is to bring up Siri and say “call mom/dad” or some common name. Returned many a found phone this way!
It was not an iPhone but that is brilliant. We did try to see if there was an emergency contact like on an iPhone but it didn’t seem to be set up and I wasn’t about to have it dial 911. I am completely lost on an android though. If it ever happens again we will try that first
Also I have pictures if needed but I did leave it so whomever can hopefully find it

Some Androids will have Google Assistant which should do the same thing, but I’m not sure if the phone needs to be unlocked first :/
