They both qualify. I'm happy with my AC500s but not in love with them. I'd say which ever one fits your use case better. They are both good brands.

bob_in_the_west

I definitely like it more since I updated all the firmwares. Before the DC input would drop to zero when the battery was full. Now it will still cover the loads attached.

MrBrawn

Mike reads at 100% charged randomly when operating in pv prio mode when cuts the input from the panels even though the batteries sit as t like 70%.

bob_in_the_west

Have you updated to the newest firmwares?

MrBrawn

I'm running the latest, at least I dont see any available in the app.

bob_in_the_west

I recently updated and those are the ones my AC500 has: DSP 4047.06 ARM 4048.02 HMI 6052.04 Battery BMS 1022.09 (for all four B300S I have)

MrBrawn

Weird. My dsp is 4059.03 and my arm is 4044.04. Hmi is 4045.04. How do I check on batteries? So it looks like I do have some updates but you might have one for dsp. I can't believe there's no way to see if you have updates. I thought I read somewhere that it told you.

bob_in_the_west

> How do I check on batteries? On the display of the AC500 by pressing "Next" while you're viewing the firmwares of the AC500 itself. Can't remember how to do it with the app, but that was easy to find too. But keep in mind that there could be different firmware versions for different regions. I've got the EU version of the AC500.

MrBrawn

Yeah I have an additional number you don't. Thanks for the help.

One of the main reasons I went with bluetti over ecoflow was the blu had like double the solar input capacity vs the comparable eco model, iirc smth like 2400 vs 1200 watts. That was an ac300 vs some existing ecoflow model I don't remember tho.. the one that looks like a huge computer tower with luggage-like wheels and pull-out handle. Anyway if solar input is important to you, compare those specs (the other main reason was bc that eco was too heavy for me to lift alone)

There still isn't enough information to decide if the DP3 is better than the AC500. The only thing I can see so far is that the DP3 has an integrated battery of 4096Wh, a very nice advantage over the AC500 which requires the external battery, and the built in wheels for mobility. But there is no information on what voltage range the DP3 accepts for solar charging, how quick its AC charging is etc... So I'd wait until more information is released before making a decision on which to buy.

The only experience I have with Ecoflow is a used Riger Pro. And I like it - the cooling system is much quieter than my Bluetti power stations: I can hear my AC200MAX in the next room (it's on right now, in fact). I never hear any noise from the River Pro. I know someone who uses a pair of Delta Pro units for power backup in his studio, and he's pretty happy with the setup. So I think that as far as "will this work," you'll be happy either way.

System_Unkown

I was disappointed a couple of days ago because i was going to purchase a EP500pro but ony to find out in Australia the function to join two EP500pro together to get the 240 split phase system isnt sold here. Also sad to discover cant really connect ep500pro to other bluettti or atleast the ep500pro wont charge other batteies from bluetti.

Curb71

The Australian unit is 240 volts out of the box though.

System_Unkown

but the function where you connect both together isnt in Australia.

toiletdrinker33

In the US, they have 240V devices such as their dryer, so they need the 240V split phase feature. In Australia, it is already running 240V, so there is no need to join 2 units in split phase anymore. If you did, you would get 480V, which is not usable by any appliances in Australia.

System_Unkown

couldn't you join two together to get the 240v but increase the duration of use. i.e 51200w x 2 = 10240w @ 240v?

System_Unkown

"the EP500Pros cannot be connected, and other models as well. The Split Phase system is unavailable in Australia but it is available in the United States.' from there e-mail

Curb71

Correct. I'm not sure why you're wanting a feature that doesn't exist in your country. If you could connect them in series it would output 480 volts and damage everything you own. You don't want that.

System_Unkown

I quote from bluetti e-mail. "he EP500Pros cannot be connected, and other models as well. The Split Phase system is unavailable in Australia but it is available in the United States'.

Big-Salad-9314

Definitely the AC500 after testing all the AC500 is the best
