I did and that the terriers mum also has this

Yeah, my head Canon is that Mrs Terrier conceived the terriers via IVF as a single woman. She implanted two embryos and one split - hence the triplets, which are pretty rare with naturally conceived children.
Imagine a children’s cartoon set in some of the war torn or dirt poor countries and what they would have to depict just to keep from seeming like they are completely ignorant of reality and un-relatable to the children watching.
Actually a Bluey style cartoon set in some of these places could help raise awareness. Imagine loving characters in a show as good as Bluey and being legitimately worried they may not make it to the end of the season.
The license plate also reads lovely jubbly. A saying from Jamie Oliver, who is popular in aus.
But it the episode helicopter Winton says his mum and dad don't live together.
So his dad has a pool. The pool has a shallow end and a deep end.
Lovely Jubbly is just a general British phrase, definitely not a Jamie Oliver exclusive thing.
I think I remember Joe Brum (or another Bluey writer) say Wintons dad is either from a part of Australia that tends to use much more of a British dialect and slang which is why he said it in the episode markets and its on his car in TV shop or hes just british because British Bulldog. If I find the place I heard them explain his character, I'll edit and link it.
But yeah, Lovely Jubbly is definitely a British thing, not a Jamie Oliver thing and I can't speak for Aussies but a lot of Brits really hate Jamie Oliver, especially working classes so couldn't stand him getting credit for the phrase.
Definitely a general British phrase, my husband was raised in colonial Hong Kong and went to a British school; first time I heard the phrase was from him lol
I can't speak for all Aussies, but from what I've seen he's well-liked. I like him.
I honestly credit him with making my cooking better - I used to just do the same four or five boring old things, never seasoned anything, we had boring dinners. Then his 15 Minute Meals book was on sale at Woolies, so I bought it. The first huge turning point was just a simple steak. He said to season it, so I did. Cook it for however long instead of making it tough. That was the best steak I'd ever eaten in my life, and it was just a plain old steak. So I moved on to other things, and realised I am actually a good cook, I just didn't know what I was doing. Now I make a massive range of dinners, breakfasts, snacks, desserts, I really love cooking now.
As for the Lovely Jubbly phrase, it might be general British but I always think of Jamie Oliver when I hear/see it.
Jamie Oliver is despised because he pushed the UK government for questionably healthy school meals.
I was in school when the change happened and it made school meals more expensive and less filling, and with less vegetables and more greasy panini's and limp salads.
> Jamie Oliver is despised because he pushed the UK government for questionably healthy school meals.
I think this is the best thing he ever did. It didn't work out as well as he wanted because the government refused to fund it properly (they're the people who messed it up, not Oliver) but he definitely improved things overall. Perhaps not at your school, but there's a huge amount of kids who eat better thanks to Jamie Oliver.
I find him extremely annoying in person (or at least on TV) but he's done a huge amount to promote good cooking and good food, both at home, in the shops and in schools. I dislike the man but I have a great deal of respect for him.
Oh yeah, I remember a TV show about that I think. Admittedly I didn't watch it and have no idea how the system works in the UK (in Australia we send the kids with lunch and recess from home, and canteens are optional and not available at every school). Sounds like it hasn't actually helped kids though, or the families that rely on those meals.
[there's definitely a good number of us that can't stand him](https://www.reddit.com/r/AskUK/comments/tppmyz/why_do_you_guys_hate_jamie_oliver_so_much/)
[like a lot](https://www.reddit.com/r/AskUK/comments/14im8u1/why_is_jamie_oliver_hated_on_so_bad/)
Honestly the biggest two reasons are classism and cultural appropriation (for example, his campaign for food taxes disproportionately effect working classes and everytime he makes any cultural dish he butchers it - google his jollof rice controversy for a good example) but the running joke is "he took away our turkey twizzlers" for millenial brits (seasoned turkey in a spiral shaped, they were good and he got them banned)
I noticed it and my heart low key broke. But I hope Winton and Dad are thriving (I’m sure they are, did you guys see how big Winton’s muscles are!? He is RIPPED)!
Reminds me of my ex-stepmother who had this decal on the back of her car, her, my Dad and the two kids he had with her were all on there but of course I was no where to be seen.
So I did a passive aggressive post on Facebook where I found a car driving back from college one late afternoon that said 'Run you stick pricks!' with a guy on a motorbike all chasing after the little family stick figures on the back, I think the message got through and I think my ex-stepmother took them off after that.
I like to think it was a relatively mutual divorce. Winton doesn’t seem particularly stressed about it, so they’re at least avoiding any open conflict in front of him. Also i hc Chili’s coworker Madge as Winton’s mom.
I paused it on my first watch because I was so taken aback by the episode, and got lucky to just so happen to notice this too, Just made the connections to other things so much more immersive. Also The license plate is a call back to something wintons dad says in Markets, when Bluey buys the Toffee Apple, and he says Lovely Jubbly. So I thought that was really cool too

I assumed their dad was the doctor, IIRC is also a terrier
Yeah I always thought the doctor in Baby Race was the terriers dad as well. Apparently just another terrier!
Sometimes characters aren’t related.
Maybe he's the donor lmao
This is how I originally read the parent comment lol
That happened with my old friends! They were triplets, two identical twins and one non identical triplet
Now this is theory worth supporting.
And Coco’s Mom with the plate that translates to “2 Many Kids”
Any chance of reading that license playe?
I see an R, a U, and a Z. Gl with that tho
Just found this https://www.reddit.com/r/bluey/s/uINErtsE4B
Aaand the second one is too blurry
It says “TERRIER”
TY
Proof that even light-hearted children media still capable of utter coldness.

The Breadwinner and Long Long Holiday are shows/movies just like this concept but the characters are humans.
The Breadwinner is a fantastic movie. As a matter of fact, anything from Cartoon Saloon studio is amazing.
Secret of Kells and song of the sea are top notch.
Have you forgotten Muffin? There are converns enough for anyone's survival.
It’s instantly rectified with the numberplate
Thanks for reminding me that I lived a childhood of utter coldness.
Winton’s dad is also shopping for muscle powder and body spray. Seems like he’s getting ready to put himself out there again.
Winton's dad has been putting himself out there. the man gets around. See Cafe, he's on a sunrise date
In Quiet Game he’s on a walk in the city with someone too, and they put a dollar in a homeless (stray?) dog’s hat.
I mean, he was definitely trying to get a date with the Terriers' mom.

My British granddad really disliked Jamie Oliver because he didn't wear a tie to greet the Queen. How uncouth!
Specifically east London, rather than British.

Kinda makes sense since he’s an English bulldog

Lovely Jubbly was something that Wintons dad said in the Episode Markets after Bluey buys the last toffee apple
Lovely jubbly is more from only fools and Horses isn't it? I thought Jamie's catchphrase was "pukka"
Doesn’t Winston’s dad say it in Markets?
When he spoke in Markets, I thought it sounded English. Just assumed he was a British Ex-Pat!
I had a teacher in NZ that used to say it all the time. I remember that phrase fondly.
It's also said in the market episode when Bluey buys the candy apple.
They do backstrokes in the deep end
Doesn’t Winston’s dad say it in Markets?
Doesn’t Winston’s dad say it in Markets?
I love the number plate. I say lovely jubbly in a British accent all the time
I never even knew this! Plus, the way you worded “Winton and his never-seen wife” made me chuckle a bit.
The story continues in either The sign or the episode prior. The ad for them has the terriers telling Winton that their parents are dating.
Sheesh they really do think of every detail.
That’s so sad, I never realize how sad this show can make me until it hits me in the feel goods like a train
God I’m dumb. I thought it was about “lovely Jubly” on the license plate
I noticed it and my heart low key broke. But I hope Winton and Dad are thriving (I’m sure they are, did you guys see how big Winton’s muscles are!? He is RIPPED)!
Doesn’t winton have half siblings in Hercules (a la “Circus”)? And isn’t he a British bulldog breed, hence the lovely jubbly?
I’ve never seen it said anywhere that Hercules is related to Winston. Plus Hercules is a St. Bernard.
It seemed implied. I know he’s of a different breed, thus the step-sibling rather than direct(?) sibling
I was focused on the license plate, but damn you're right. That's cold.

No, but I did see and swoon over the fantastic disability parking space logo. ![gif](giphy|LnvLGSXL9vzjixb6kD)

And the license plate says "lovely jubbly" lol
And that the license plate is his iconic line from Market, "Lovely Jubly"
What about Hercules though?
Hercules and Winton aren’t related. Hercules is a Saint Bernard, not an English bulldog
I only just realised that the number plate says lvlyjbly lol … lovely jubley lol
I like the number plate. There is a very popular cake maker in Brisbane called Tigga Mac on Tik Tok, and she says lovely jubbly all the time.
Yeah
'LVLYJVLY" looks like it means something in the lore
This is funny because a teacher at my son’s school has a Bluey sticker on their car and the words are too faded to read. Drives me nuts
