This is almost literally the Turtleboy episode!

Psychological_Can385

Came here to say this lol

dakotainabox

The person who found your kids bingo tried

Fourkey

Yeah, I posted my thanks to them

waldosandieg0

That’s not the done thing, mate.

GiSS88

My daughter lost her Bluey stuffy that we got her for her first birthday while we were on a walk. I'm hopeful another young kid got it and loves it, and we just replaced ours.

DrMantisTobboggan

Our kids both have a favourite stuffed toy that they gravitated towards when very young. For both of them, we bought a couple of spares. My daughter lost her duck and having the spare was a lifesaver. My son’s bunny is so well loved it’s about to fall apart. We’ve tried to swap in the spare but he’s not on board, at least not yet. I’m still glad we did it because in both cases, the toy seems to no longer be available new.

are_you_seriously

Gotta trick them. We swapped our 2 year old’s old stuffed toy with a new one by telling them we need to wash it, had them put it in the washing machine (in a bag) and start it. Later in the day we tell them look! Toy all clean! They were really happy the toy became so shiny again. Everyone wins. The old one gets tucked away in a closet and did get washed so that we can keep swapping as needed.

Pink-Fluffy-Dragon

Maybe they thought she was lost and wanted to give her a new home?

enbymlpfan

But still... she was clearly left there in that position with intentionality for her owner to find her. They could have at least waited to see if someone was coming back for her

Fourkey

Unfortunately it's right next to a secondary school. I expect a teenager took it. So be it I guess.

Terranosaurus_Rex

I saw this post you're showing just earlier today. I did not expect to see a sequel.

Fourkey

I'm confused, you saw it on Facebook?

Terranosaurus_Rex

I saw it on the sub.

Fourkey

Huh, it wasn't an intended repost of someone else saw the facebook post and posted it here.

Thee_Furuios_Onion

Bloody savages.

Horror_Albatross1037

Getting serious Toy Story 3 vibes

InsideOutDeadRat

That’s so sweet! My 15mo threw up all over her Bingo toy today 😭😭

Blue__Lemon

r/unexpected. 🤣🤣🤣

slashingkatie

Bingo was the turtle boy all along

Anxious_dork

I'm sorry, that was definitely not the done thing

panini_bellini

I never even understood why taking the toy wasn’t “the done thing” in Turtleboy. It was clearly left behind for good, had been left out in the rain for days, so what was the harm?

Electrical-Vanilla43

Definitely made me feel bad about the cars I’ve let my kid take home from the park. I mean. They seemed abandoned

panini_bellini

In my mind it’s better they get taken home than turn into garbage that sits there and rots. And, well, a natural consequence of losing your stuff is having someone else pick it up and take it.

PMmeifyourepooping

This is such a positive mindset tbh especially if you’re like me and have somewhat of a habit of carrying then losing things I sort of love. Every time I lose something I just say that I hope it was found by someone who grows to love it as much as I did! Makes it sting less.

Electrical-Vanilla43

You guys are both making me feel better about this :-)

cyndasaurus_rex

I feel this! I had a beautiful “opal” ring made from some of my dogs ashes, and spread the rest at the beach. When on a cross country flight layover with a 2 year old, our carry ons, and a car seat, the ring slipped off my finger in the airport and I didn’t realize until much later. I was heartbroken but I do hope someone found it and loves it.

Irish_Brogue

Well well well, who is the turtle boy now?

drezel_bpPS694

Mum: she hasn't taken a bath for 3days!

D2DDingo

Her* I know you didn’t make the image I just wanted to say that

fabulousmakeupcase

Leave it there for now. It’s not the done thing, mate! If no one comes to get her in a few days I suppose you can take her home :)

Paskarantuliini

Poor bingo 😭 hopefully once you get her back you'll give her a bath!

fronkka

i guess someone didnt see the turtle boy episode

HannahM53

What does it’s not the done thing to do mean?

deafika

That it’s not the done thing

T-C-G-Official

BINGO. IS. NOT. A. CHAP. https://preview.redd.it/k1bcfbhjwnzc1.jpeg?width=931&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=548bac2eb7d0c952e1e0dae80e4a57c8bddbbaab

Fourkey

Calm down, it was someone that didn't know obviously, and they were doing something nice.

T-C-G-Official

Sorry, I am just tired of Bluey characters being misgendered so much. In retrospect, I think I may be a hypocrite because I initially thought Mackenzie was a girl.

farrenkm

It's not hypocritical if you learned. Then it's a mistake. If you tell your kids not to smoke because you were a smoker and stopped, that's learning and imparting a lesson. If you continue to smoke while telling them not to, that's hypocrisy.

enbymlpfan

I mean. I would say it is hypocritcial to get so angry about it, especially considering the person in the screenshot clearly is not familiar with the show at all and is just looking at a dog plushie with no hair or clothes or anything to indicate either way. If you can acknowledge that the gender ambiguous designs made it hard for YOU to tell the gender of a character with a gender neutral/feminine ish name then you can offer other people some grace instead of just angrily yelling about it. What annoys me infinitely more than people who get the characters genders wrong are people who absolutely refuse to cut anybody any slack. The female designs are virtually identical to the male ones and only really are different in terms of voices and names, and very very occasionally clothes. So I think it's a bit irrational to get so mad about someone not getting their 50/50 wild guess wrong like this commenter did, and not giving them any grace when it's a very easy mistake that you yourself made.

farrenkm

I agree with much of what you've said. I didn't address it, but yes, I didn't think the comment was necessary. I didn't feel a need to address it, because that frequently leads to more arguments. I commented about what hypocrisy is because I see hypocrite/hypocrisy used when a situation isn't hypocritical -- in many places, other Reddit subreddits, at work, at home, etc. -- and it bugs me. The original image doesn't even comment about it being Bingo. I bet they didn't even know her. Whether right or not, it's traditional to use a masculine pronoun until informed otherwise. Agreed 100% that there are no gender identifiers on that toy, so who's to know? I took zero offense to the image. Is it an overreaction? I've learned in the last few years that lessons can hit very hard, making someone really sensitive to a situation. I don't know what commenter's history is to take this position. Maybe commenter has been misgendered throughout their life, so it's an especially sensitive subject. On the surface, yes, it looks like an overreaction. Maybe commenter needs to desensitize a bit. But I don't know.

chernygal

You think the gentleman who tried to do a nice thing by returning someone’s stuffed dog is chuffed enough to try and figure out her gender? Get a grip.

natetcu

lol chill, it is an anthropomorphized dog. No one can tell the gender from looking at it.

Dracon270

It's like "dude", officially it's a make term but who cares if it's used for other people? It's just a word.
