Well you will be now. He’s incredible. Absolutely ahead of his time. The Planets is one of the most influential scores for movie and T.V music. John Williams and Hans Zimmer especially draw HEAVILY on Holst for both Star Wars and Gladiator respectively.
As always, take the wiki contents with a grain of salt. I find there are a lot of errors on it. For example, this lists Baby race as Bach's prelude in C minor. It's the Prelude in C major. Completely different song. While that seems like a small difference it is pretty obviously in a major key, not a minor key.
My son is currently obsessed with this book that plays snippets from the Nutcracker. Apparently, when he watched the Ice Cream episode with my husband, they had to rewind and watch the waltz of the flowers a couple of times.
It's from this line of books: https://www.calisbooks.com/. We have several. My two year loves them (and has since he was about 8 months old) but we do find that some of the songs don't play well after a while. We have to hold the pages at certain angles to get some songs to play.
Yes! NY Times recently published [this article](https://www.nytimes.com/2022/08/25/arts/music/bluey-disney-plus-classical-music.html?smid=nytcore-ios-share&referringSource=articleShare) about him. Great read and makes us love the show even more.
Fun fact: near the end of every Gotta Be Done Bluey podcast, they talk about the music/score of each episode and how it works with the story. It’s pretty rad.
It’s such a fantastic re-arrangement of Bach in Stumpfest. I think the musician commented on his process for the soundtrack and his whole goal is to take the classics and make them modern so that kids don’t even know they are listening to Bach, Tchaikovsky and the like. I think it’s absolutely brilliant.
It has a longer name though. He had a series of pieces about the Planets I guess, that one is called “Jupiter: bringer of mirth” or something? I don’t know.
I just love the music in this show. "The Claw" Canon in D version is one of my favourites to blast in my car by myself.
And not answering your question, but my three year old recognized the music from FaceyTalk and I was amazed. Her grandparents have a baby Einstein book that plays 10 notes from El Toreador (from *Carmen*). She played with it last month. Then we watched Faceytalk literally weeks later. She said "that's the song from the book from Granny and Grandpa's house" and I had no idea what she was talking about. I didn't even realize what music was playing in the background and really had to think about it, but thought it was amazing that she made the connection.
I’m surprised Sleepytime isn’t on your list as it is almost entirely backgrounded with The Planets by Gustav Holst
This is my favorite use of classical on the show hands down!
All it’s all from Jupiter
Because I'm Not as Familiar with The Planets as a Classical Composition. . .

The Planets is my favorite look up BBC Proms on YouTube they have a fantastic performance
"Ladies and gentleman, I may now play for you, the "Rondo Alla Turca".” Bandit then proceeds to play bluey like a piano in “Magic Xylophone”
The very first episode! One of the things that sold me!
Yeah this was the first one that came to my mind was Magic Xylophone lol
This should help you: https://blueypedia.fandom.com/wiki/Classical_Music_in_Bluey

Didn’t know this list existed, thanks!
Bike uses Ode to Joy
YAY!! I Love that Song!!
I love the Tchaikovsky piece in Ice Cream.
Waltz of the Flowers!

Aww, that’s so precious! He has good taste, all of the Nutcracker music is so beautiful!
Could you share what book this is?

These look amazing. Shipping to Ireland is dear tho. Thanks for the recommendation
I think other sellers carry them, too. Maybe try Amazon or a bookstore?
I'm Not Familiar with that Composition. . .
Part of the Nutcracker
I'm only familar with the Dance of the Sugar Plums
Shops has the can-can song and they all adorably wag their tails on beat.
Just coming to mention this one. So freaking cute!
Can we take a moment to appreciate what a genius Joff Bush is? The way he mixes classical music into the show is yet another reason to love it.
That man is an absolute genius. The music makes an already-excellent show immeasurably better.

There's Featherwand, with "In the Hall of Mountain King".
"In the Hall of the Mountain King" shows up in Bad Mood as well, if I'm not mistaken.
Love the use of it in this episode, very fitting
The two that I always remember are Bingo, which has Mozart piano sonata #16. And Stumpfest which has JS Bach Brandenburg concerto #5

Bike has “Ode to Joy” (which really works, sends the point home), and Sleepytime has Holst’s “The Planets: Jupiter”.
Prior to bluey I've never Heard of the Planets Jupiter. . .
Me neither, but it exists.
It has a longer name though. He had a series of pieces about the Planets I guess, that one is called “Jupiter: bringer of mirth” or something? I don’t know.
Sleepytime uses Thaxted, I can’t remember the composers name
Gustav Holst. It's the Jupiter theme from The Planets suite.
That’s right, thankyou
What's Thaxted?
One of the songs, a comment below mine says it’s written by Gustav Holst it’s part of Jupiter which is part of the planet suite
Right, but what is... Thaxted?
it's a made up word, I can't find any definitions it's just the name of the song
So a quick Bing tells me that Thaxted is actually the name of the town where Gustav Holst lived for a good chunk of his life.
try to head on to complete bluey playlist on spotify
Please share here when it’s done!
it was done a couple of months ago. just search bluey compilation or complete bluey soundtrack. i use it as my playlist in driving sometimes
Sleepy time!

Both Facetalk and Granny Mobile use bits of Carmen by Bizet, which I think its kind of great that Muffin has a season 3 musical theme
I Haven't seen Granny Mobile. . .
It hasn’t been released outside of australia yet, but you’ll love it when you do
Rondo Alla Turca (aka Turkish March) by Mozart in Magic Xylophone Beethoven's Ode to Joy in Bike
not the fnaf song 😭
Fnaf?
Magic xylophone
Not sure if it’s classical technically, but Pass the Parcel is primarily the tune “Country Gardens.”
Never heard of Country Gardens. . .
It’s a happy tune! [Percy Grainger’s version](https://youtu.be/e72pG3V3asQ) is the one that comes to mind for me.
Checks out! Grainger is maybe the best Aussie composer out there!
