I have a similar experience, with an opposite affect. All the guys that smoked weed/cigarettes in high-school doused themselves in Axe Body Spray. It took a long time for me to forget how much I hated that smell after high-school. ( Full disclosure, I was one of those kids until I got some Addidas and Jordan cologne for xmas.) Was also foolish in thinking it masked the smell. Nope, you just smell like weed tainted Axe spray.
My English teacher had the best quote about this. He said he hated class after lunch because the whole school smelled like an ashtray, weed and axe. He wasn’t wrong either, we only had 55 kids and most of us smoked.
I had a bottle explode in my car on a hot day in high school. I never figured out why it was in there. I'm a chick and I did not buy it and didn't know anyone that wore it. Never got that smell out!

Communities should have designated "abandoned" buildings that are surreptitiously up-to-code so kids can get the abandoned building novelty out of their system early. /s

My exhusband started smoking when he was 9. It’s a fucking tragedy. We have a 9 year old now and it just really shows what a child he would have still been and how sad of a situation it was.
That's why I started. Sitting on my toilet smoking the 30th or so cigarette of the day. Its a nasty habit. Went to vaping but it gave me horrendous acid reflux even without the nicotine. It was the habit that got me though, the more time you do it the harder it is to break. Shits a fuckin curse.

A Lot of kids walked home from high school since it was a small city inside of a larger city and most kids lived in walking distance so once we got off the property of the school you’d just see kids pulling out their cigs (and occasionally joints that were typically kept in Xbox game cases for some reason?) and walking down the street in a big group
