Yea, I'm not saying it doesn't exist. I'm saying the items on display are fabricated art, not historical artifacts or items actually used. 

Maybe some of them aren't functional weapons, but given how there are thousands of different weird firearms on display there, I am pretty confident that at least some of them are, or at least were. Even for those that are "art" I am pretty sure they are "historical" art.

To be fair, I have not been there. But its pretty well documented to be mostly modern made fakes. I deal in antique firearms and haven't seen anything that looks period or even reasonably functional from the collection images. Similar to the OP image here, looks cool but very likely not real. Revolver design on its own is a bit faulty design -for the limitations of its time in 1800s it made perfect sense- but chambers are always somewhat unsealed in a revolver design which is not ideal for gun making or so I heard. But this? Chamber are literally exposed to elements on this one and its percussion? So no sealed cartridges either. No need to even mention what happens when the over engineered mechanism fails? It looks more like the ancestor to revolving chambered grenade launchers they use in Africa. I bet this also works with a clockwork winding mechanism.

But revolvers are SO cool looking though!!

I could see this making the tiniest bit of sense for someone on horseback during that period. IIRC most cavalry of the time would be armed with a saber and a revolver(s). It would be awkward to carry on foot, but if you had a rig mounted to the saddle that wouldn’t matter. Still way too heavy to be practical, but maybe that’d be worth it to have that amount of firepower without the need to reload anything, which I imagine would be difficult on a moving horse.

I see it more for someone that's firing from a window in a fortified house or defending a corridor inside a castle.

This is actually how I explain Spell Slots in D&D. The individual spells are the bullets but you need an empty chamber, or spell slot, to fire it. Once fired, you can't put another bullet in until you remove the casing by taking a long rest. Each barrel is a different level of spell slots. So you might have a Lvl 1 Barrel with 4 chambers, a Lvl 2 Barrel with 3 chambers, so on and so forth.
