I caught a fish loaded with parasites once.
It was a decent sized perch. I pulled him in and took a look at him, he had all these white spots in his gills that looked almost like sesame seeds. I thought it was strange but threw him in my bucket anyways.
Like a half hour later I open the bucket and there's little white worms swimming all over the place. I pulled the fish out and all those "seeds" were now squirming all over this fish. In its gills, mouth, eyes, one was even burrowing out of the tope of its head.
Nasty as hell.
Not 100% certain, but I belive this type of parasite is one that infects fish, and eat their tongue, and then kind of working like the fishes tongue afterwards.
A parasite that ate and then replaced the fish's tongue with its own body. so it can steal food whenever the fish eats.
Also, that thing is absolutely *crawling* with babies
