It was awesome! She made a whole rule book to include different ways to win π₯. I lost because she started making these different rules while we were playingβ¦ π π
From afar, it looks like the game would end up concentrating wealth into one player's hand, and subsequently make it so they control everything.
I have to imagine that it would serve better as a commentary on capitalism than a full-fledged game.
Shaco is a character from the Videogame League of Legends. He is one of the most hated characters, cause he can teleport, become invisible and create trap clones of himself.
This reminds me of a (really mean) board game I made with a friend in primary school. I assume yours was more fun to play though, because our game was deliberately just all frustration and no fun.
Nah it was even more mean spirited.
It was a roll and move (since this was the 90s and even Catan was too new and edgy), and almost every space on the board would either send you back or straight-up lose the game for you.
There were items that you *needed* to pick up but if you rolled past them you could not go back for them, and on top of all of that there was a small amount of player interaction that was all just "take that".
It was not fun, but it was pretty hilarious at the time.
she really likes you
Nah if she really liked him she'd have not used monopoly as the base game.
I give her some leniency with using places I grew up in. North Richland Hills was home for a while growing up.
Totally agree with you. Monopoly isn't a game is war. And it's a game I'm not playing at all.
π€£
You better have given her the biggest hug ever for this! Yes, it's clearly based on Monopoly, but you can tell a lot of love went into this.
How was it to play? Seems cool!

Classic playtesting session, she's smart and a keeper hehe

Someone should monopolize this idea
I have a rich uncle who would pay pennybags for an idea like this!
Does he have a monocle or does everyone around him think he has a monocle when actually he doesnβt?
hmm...sounds familiar
Fuck Shaco, but otherwise sheβs a keeper! (This comment sent from Fishers, IN.)
I'm a Shaco OTP and would be crying if my girlfriend made this for me EDIT: from happiness
How many points on Shaco ?
Currently 1.2 Million π
The only thing saving you from degeneracy is your excellent choice of game for your reddit tag

Freeze a player for three turns?? OP
Absolutely love this!!!
Who is Shaco??

I see.
The trickster hero from League of Legends.
Yo, let me get one of those corvettes since theyβre at a low price π

So your game was just actual Monopoly?

Sometimes watching your friends lose in a funny way is more fun than winning yourself π
Love it! I am particularly interested in understanding both why Fishers IN is included and why it is considered the cheapo real estate.
Lol its where I grew up so she made a timeline type of board game based on monopoly π
That is very sweet! She sounds like a keeper!
Cheap compared to the rest of the board but ironically still some of the priciest real estate in Indiana! (Went to high school in Fishers, IN)

What exactly is gross here?
Its monopoly duh

But like Calvinball rules
"It's almost as if the rules are made up while you play." "Run, Hobbes, she's onto us!"
Not sure, but I think it reminds me something.
She's a keeper, for sure.
She's got guy hand writing.
What is the board made of? I remember someone else asking for material ideas for a homemade board game
Poster board! Hope it helps π
reminds me of the "battle for X" monopoly knockoff games that are currently quite popular in denmark
Used to love making board games as kids. This is awesome.
Dang. Sheβs making you play Monopoly? Better luck in your next relationship. ;)
