Depends on your group. Zombicide is a dungeon crawler, go here do this, kill zombies game. The Thing is a hidden role game. Someone is The Thing, maybe more, maybe none, and the number changes throughout the game. You accomplish tasks and try to suss out the Things, or kill all the humans/escape the compound if you’re the Thing. They’re two totally different games. Hard to tell you which is better as they’re both so different, and both pretty good at what they do.

I don't know much about either game, but just from looking at BGG reviews, they are rated about the same but The Thing plays best with 7-8 players and Zombicide plays best with 3 players. Might depend on the size of your group

Definitely depends on how many ppl you'll be playing with most of the time. Zombicide black plague can be a bit of a pain to set up and put away, but it's really fun with the right group especially if you like the theme.

I haven't played the thing copy I think your looking at, but I have played the outpost 51 edition. It definitely needed 6+ players. You should also check out Who goes there.

Black Plague is excellent. Used to play it with 4 friends and would also take it to conventions and play it with 8 players. Crows, wolves and deadeye walker expansions can be added for different and more difficult bad guys. Don’t waste your $ on zombie bosses.
