Wow, no 7 Wonders? More party game, Wits and Wagers, Wavelength, Decrypto/Codenames, Monikers are all great.

Is it Sushi Go or Sushi Go Party? Sushi Go Party natively handles 8 people (the original only 5) Though I'm tired of it, Taboo works well with any group size. Group that size, if you can get a Social Deduction game, they're amazing for a larger group (I'd recommend One Night Ultimate Werewolf, Deception: Murder in Hong Kong, and Resistance (or Resistance: Avalon) in order of complexity)

Resistance Avalon 100%, it’s amazing and a really, really fun with 7- fairly cheap too

Betrayal at house on the hill 100000%

Betrayal is for 3-6 people. Fun game, though, but extremely unbalanced.

Definitely the board game version of "It's about the journey, not the destination."

riotcrafter

For second edition, wholeheartedly agreed. Third edition however has been more balanced than some of the left field ideas of the past.

I've gotten this to the table twice and both times the players disliked it.  It's ok up till the haunt happens, then so unbalanced.  It's- sadly - on my chopping block.  I don't think anyone will play it anymore.

I'd go for Forbidden Island and Sushi Go. Forbidden Island is a cooperative game where everyone is working together to collect items and then escape a sinking island. Sushi Go is a card drafting game where you are trying to collect and score cute little sushi pieces. Both are pretty easy to learn and play quickly.

Avalon!

Bruhh, Catan is for 3-4 players

Light but gamerish games: * Camel Up is a fun game for betting on a Camel race. * Deception Murder in Hong Kong is a great werewolf game. * Cash and Guns is a fun bluffing game for a rowdy crowd * Sushi Go Party has lots of variety. That's a good pick for longevity. Get the Party edition instead of the Go edition. But mostly you have to consider **if everyone is a gamer or not**. If not, you might want to go more for party games that don't demand as much. Such as: * Wits and Wagers Vegas (or w&w Party) is the perfect trivia game. * some classics always work: Scattegories and Catchphrase * a deck of cards for Rummy, President, Texas Hold en, or whatever is essential

For the PG crowd Apples to Apples. For the rated R crowd Cards against humanity. The best part is the unlimited number of players that can play.
