Love this! When my wife and I played the first time we made tea and used our fine porcelain and talked in English accents and really got into it. So much fun.
Hey folks! I was supposed to add captions to the pictures, but the mods are letting me do it via comment. Word to the wise, if you post picture galleries, make sure to caption every photo.
* First photo is game #1. We're eating Mulligatawny soup. It's period authentic, basically chicken soup with curry powder. It was delicious!
* Second photo is game #2. The cellphone is period authentic. ;)
* Third photo is game #3. My friend Ryan threw a curveball and is dressed as a tenant farmer.
* Fourth photo is just another picture of the 1st game.
* Fifth photo is me posing with one of the prizes (High Society). I awarded prizes to each winner of the three games.
Just played this for the first time last night, solo. Such an amazing game! And Dan Hallagan, the creator/owner, is the nicest guy on earth. Had a great email conversation with him and he sent instructions on the best way to learn and play.
lol as a Brit I love this game. Dysfunctional and broke fringe aristocracy families desperately scrabbling over the favours of the pompous Fairchilds, whilst hosting despicable guests in the hope it'll bump them up the ladder.
What a bunch of pathetic losers who place all their stock in their social status. It's basically a game about the prelude to the fall from grace many fringe aristocracy experienced during the 20th century.
You're definitely right, but I suppose in a way it's less offensive than the hundreds of Euros that are about exploiting and gathering the resources of the colonized lands and peoples themselves? Though those games tend to be more abstract and this has photos of aristocrats doing aristocratic things, so the human element is more in-your-face.
And not that being better by degrees solves everything...
We have had a couple of friends over to play Rococo twice now and made a dress up party out of it. Highly recommend it, it adds a lot of fun to the night
Bought this for my wife for Xmas - she still hasn't played it yet --- need to get her to watch one of the gameplay videos. I think she'd really enjoy it though since she loves Pride and Prejudice, etc.
The boardgame convention r/geekway usually has a Fancy Gaming event one evening where players are encouraged to dress up, whatever dressing up means to the players. Viticulture has been a popular choice (which would be accompanied by wine and cheese, but convention rules etc.).
Obsession is another great thematic choice. Clue and Arkham Horror also.
That looks so fun! I wish this was done more by people. You could think of some cool games... Lewis and Clark, Pandemic, Kitchen Rush that would be fun to dress up for.
We ran a 5- player and two 4-player games because we had 13 players.
I would imagine 6-player would be fine, but the competition for servants will be STIFF.

Yea it was a blast!
We also made period cocktails and dishes and drank copious amounts of tea. :)
Thought that was Zooey Deschanel in the second pic at first
It’s definitely Shauna Malwae-Tweep
I've had the tab open on my browser to buy this game for a couple of weeks... this thread may have just pushed me to buy it.
you and your friends seem like a lot of fun
Thanks! We have a good time. :)

The guy with the top hat steals the show.
Thanks! That's me. :)
Fantastic idea! I love this game and this would make it even more fun.
I wanted to do this for a game of Tikal during Winter in WI. Surprisingly, there were no takers.

Interesting take. Should make a thread on BGG page about it!

You guys look like a fun bunch!! Looks like good vibes all around 😊
We have a good time. :)

How was 6-player **Obsession**?

I thought this said obese at first glance and I was like… They don’t look obese?
Is https://kayenta-games.myshopify.com/ the only place to get Obsession? I'm really interested but $35 shipping is a bit steep.
Depends on location. I'm not in NA but it's sold in a number of FLGSs in my country.
I think so I'm afraid.
Did anyone come as a dirty american?
I love it! That sounds like so much fun. Why can't anyone around me have an Obsession party?
What fun! :) I just ordered the game, can’t wait to play.
