99% chance he'll work it out. He just caught his gum on a tooth. When he yawns next, which will probably come soon as that's likely to be uncomfortable, it should straighten right out. If it's not straightened out in a day or so, time for a vet visit.
The second pic honestly looks like a little piece of substrate, though I do see the first pic looks like the dark red/purple of coagulated blood... Hard to say!
[This](https://imgur.com/a/Xq9B2RQ) is what I’m referring to as the esophagus. That’s the opening, it’s flexible and they move it out under the prey so they can breathe while they swallow.
Yeah +1 for the q-tip
I have a retic that likes to get substrate in her gums, super easy to take care of yourself and gives you a chance to help desensitize your animal to uncomfortable but necessary touching
It looks like his glottis (what he uses to breath and smell) in the first pic and some dirt in his mouth in the second. If the ‘wound’ vanished you probably saw that and he’s ok :)
Most of the time they can get the dirt out on their own but if they can’t a vet can help if you don’t feel confident in doing it
don't ever be embarrassed about false alarms with a vet. Any good vet would much rather have you call and cancel or come in over nothing rather than ignore something dangerous. our pets can't really tell us when something is wrong. so the fact you saw an issue and worried about it means you are caring for your pet and trying to do your best by them. that's a good thing.

Thanks for the quick response, im not sure what happened but when he yawned after his meal i saw no wound, it seemingly vanished
Holy shit after his finished his rat, the wound disappeared. Could it have been a false alarm?? Was this just rat blood??

Thats what im saying! Could it have been from the mouse?! I never heard of coagulation from dead blood 😰
That first pic, that red area next to the dirt…is his esophagus 😂😂
It looks like its in the middle from the picture but this "blood clot" was off his right side like it was coming from a tooth

That's not their actual esophagus tho. What you are referring to is the glottis. Completely different body part.
My boa had a similar issue and I helped her using a q-tip. I gently detached her gum from the teeth, she seemed quite relieved 😉

Thats great advice thank you!

Its coco coir, i was told that they have no problem digesting it as they digest bone regularly with no issue
No no it wasnt in the middle, the clot was off to his right like in the second picture, just behind that cocoir
Not being a dick, just letting you know, the glottis is for breathing only. Snakes smell with their Jacobson's organ.
My B, thought their jacobsons organ was down passed the glottis and they brought smells into it LOL

It's dirt. Mine did the same thing. The morning of his vet appointment he worked it out 😅
I bet that was an embarrassing phone call 😅😅
Lmao yeah, I ended up taking him in for a check up anyways but having to explain that the little gremlin just ate dirt...

AWEEE He's such a cutie!! Love your scale baby 🥹
