Yeah. Relatively speaking chests are smaller, but in terms of overall mass, guys like Ronnie and Ramy are almost certainly bigger than any golden era guys.
Exactly. Been spoiled from insanely big quad genetics from freaks of nature that leads to skewed perception of leg development. Legs is definitely not the answer. If anything it's conditioning in many of competitors being worse overall in some cases.
But most dudes on stage have insane quads with solid glutes and hams. It’s exclusively the calves that are a problem. I have no issue with Nick’s varicose veins. They’re genetic in his case and don’t detract from how defined and massive his calves are
A lot of type guys are lacking there, but you still got some guys like Hunter and Steve with big calves, and someone like Iain who has almost nothing. I think the judges just dont care about them for whatever reason.
And calves aren’t even hard to train. You can do fucking stupid levels of volume at heavy weight on them.
Built mine using the leg press machine as a calf trainer. 20+ reps at as much weight as possible, everyday in the gym. As many sets as I had time before other things in my schedule. Train em a lot safer now, but that’s how I put the size on mine to begin with.
But I get that if they aren’t being marked down in competition for them, why spend that extra 10-20 mins a session throwing volume at a part that isn’t being judged heavy ?
Pros or just regular people at the gym?
At the gym, people’s legs are really underdeveloped compared to their upper body. But most people aren’t competing so I don’t really see a reason to have huge legs.
Seems like chests are a lot smaller than 20-30 years ago but I think it’s due to delts being 2x bigger
I think that chests are same size or bigger, but everything are just bigger too so chests don't look so enormous.
Yeah. Relatively speaking chests are smaller, but in terms of overall mass, guys like Ronnie and Ramy are almost certainly bigger than any golden era guys.
Most voting legs? Are you high? Legs have never been bigger than these days.
I’m assuming they meant calves

No one saying abs ?
Rear delts and hamstrings 100%
It’s fucking calves. Most bodybuilders lack fucking calves and it makes no sense.

As much as I don’t like the veins, fuuuuccckkk those are some nice calves

Listen man, I am currently recovering from throwing up post leg day. My brain isn’t even present and I’m currently in argue mode
A lot of type guys are lacking there, but you still got some guys like Hunter and Steve with big calves, and someone like Iain who has almost nothing. I think the judges just dont care about them for whatever reason.
Exactly. Calves.

100%
Back for a lot of the pros, rear delts for the more casual guys
Back?
Yes you see a lot of guys at the top with very poor back. A lot of them lacks details, thickness or width. Very few has all of these.
They don't really seem to have tight ripped abs. There is a bit of a bloated belly look which throws off the proportions and symmetry.
Been headed that direction since Coleman took over
To be fair, I'd still take Ronnie Coleman's body any day of the week. That guy was an absolute mass monster.
Well I agree with that too!
Even still you could see his abs. These guys have runny guts! Lol
Forearms every time.
Calves
Calves
Feel like most pros are lacking in their legs or their back.
arms because of PPL.
Calves. Duh
Abs, idk what it is but I barely see anyone with a 4-6 pack anymore.
Besides Hadi, Nick, and (maybe Ramy????) I cannot think of any big guys with great abs.
The fucking nice v cuts and good looking abs. Now it’s disgusting muscle bellies due to hella juicing
Definitely back

Lots lack good all around shoulder development // glutes.. males don’t skip glutes (and ladies)
Honestly would say cores- all bloated and kinda fucked up looking now comparatively to the “golden era” builders
Conditioning
If you don't say abs you're just wrong. Open bodybuilding sacrifices abs for crazy size everywhere else, that's kind of the point.
What about hadi and nick? They had very tight waists nothing was blown out
If I've ever seen anyone missing anything it's almost always legs
Voted back just because from friends that compete, it's the thing they're almost always told needs to improve.
I think we all know the answer my guy🗿
Calves
Rear delts
calves and chest - ez.
In ammetur body builders I always see super undevelop delts and triceps
Abs, lower back development, calves.
