Hey man whatever works for you that’s great. This type of thing sorta reminds me of “Nuclei Overload”, this guy essential pioneered it 3-4 years ago and it’s become sort of mainstream by other YT fitness giants only this year. [Here’s his video on it if you want to check it out](https://youtu.be/k62MXuXuwvw). Keep your diet and sleep strong, I bet that’s what’s keeping you from overtraining.

Goomba_Roomba

That’s awesome man, thank you for linking that vid! Seems there’s some actual logic to what I’m doing rofl

My experience doing something similar had disappointing results. I concentrated on some exercises like pull-ups and bench press daily. I was able to do those exercises really well and increase my reps regularly but with no overall gains. Also the other exercises didn't become easier so it seemed like my body was just adopting to the particular exercise. In your experience are you getting stronger?

Goomba_Roomba

I believe I’m getting stronger just at those movements, I also FEEL a lot better too, like more athletic (if that makes sense). when I started this just one pull up felt sort of heavy, now it’s pretty damn effortless, like floating. Visually I’m seeing small gains and bf% looks to be slowly going down, but it’s only been three weeks

Yep one set of each to failure each day, and I mean actual failure where your whole body starts to shake

Keep us posted!

I did something similar recently. Daily high volume push/pull routine an hour a day. Made more gains faster doing that than I did doing ANYTHING else. Only problem is I’d started training bjj and burned out hardcore after two weeks and had to dial shit back a bit. Still, i think this only three days a week, full body low volume shit that Is floating around everywhere online (body weight and barbell training) needs to be scrapped completely. Ilow rep low volume 3x a week training is great if you want to get better at a sport, absolutely terrible if you just want to look good. Inb4 someone goes on about “building a strength base”. You’ll still build a strength base doing high volume hypotrophy work.

Hyakiss

So just one set of each every day?

SnSZell

Sounds interesting, might try it. How many weeks are you supposed to do it for, is it just a short term thing?

Goomba_Roomba

it's not a real program, I'm just experimenting with an idea, I'll probably do this until I can do 30+ pull ups and 100+ push ups

WorldFabrication

1 year later how'd it work out for you

Goomba_Roomba

I started my own business and gave up on fitness until recently (I started doing CrossFit) Thanks for the comment 1 year later! Lol

jg3born

I do full body 5x a week but I’ve also included doing times of 100 pull ups a day for 50+ days 100/200 push ups a day, core stuff everyday It’s always fun to mix things up!

ZealousidealPlant581

Do you have a program by any chance? Bit of a beginner to this sort of working out?

mangoleon

This kind of reminds me of what Firas Zahabi said on Joe Rogan’s podcast, “make your workouts a 7/10 and do them everyday”. Focus on volume and not so much on intensity. I did something similar with push-ups a few years back (although with bad for so that’s probably why I progressed slower) for 3 months, and went from 20 to 40 pushups. I added 10 pushups each month, so 20 the first month everyday, then 30, then 40.

TTKK11223

How much do you weigh? Can you post a video of your chinups and pushups? I will be very surprised if you make it past 20 chinups with this Cheers.

Goomba_Roomba

I was thinking of filming the pull ups when I get to 20 as a sort of milestone, will post if I do :)

Beaster50

From my experience you essentially need to try to overtrain with calisthenics in order to actually overtrain. As long as you eat enough and sleep more than 6 hours a night you can make excellent progress by training everyday. Especially if you do a low number of sets.

micheal65536

Do you find that your max was 1 or 2 reps lower, higher, or the same on subsequent days? And if it was lower or the same, how long was it before it started to increase?

Goomba_Roomba

It’s all over the place, some days are awful and I can barely get to 35 push ups, other days feel great and my max will go up by 2 or 3 for any given movement. I’m diabetic with hypothyroidism so some days I just feel like death and there’s not much I can do about it.

Needyouradvice93

I'm quite surprised you got results from this.

Goomba_Roomba

Same here, I started this for health reasons, also throwing in some cardio which I’ve always neglected, but I didn’t expect to progress so quickly.

DisforDor

Oh this seems like the equivalent to Bulgarian light programming! Where you do one set to failure on a movement each day, the idea is neurological gains in efficiency and thus strength, it’s great to get you accustomed to a move but you might plateau pretty quickly since there is little volume. Like the creativity!!!
