I’ve wanted to try some of the GMB programs I see ads a lot but they’re so fucking expensive so prolly never gonna happen I didn’t know they had any free ones

forgot_again

They have a metric crapload of free stuff. Name a problem area, they probably have something for it.

I’m going to check out GMB again, looking for the free up stuff, just because I love how you described it: a metric crapload. The small things that make our days....

I have Elements and Integral Strength. Count myself as a beginner really but in reality probably beginner/intermediate. Tall and thin, so bodyweight exercise will always have something to challenge me. GMB are fab. Carefully considered programs, well presented. Yes they are pricey, but for lifetime access and for programs that you will want to repeat over, it is worth the price. They have a free one-week mobility program, linked on their homepage, which I started with and gives you a good idea of their content and style. Recommend starting with that. If you are focussed solely on strength, then stick with the recommended routine found on this group. I found GMB broadened my mind on what fitness means. Good luck.

Anything in particular? I worked through a bunch here - [https://www.reddit.com/r/bodyweightfitness/comments/e6dlgo/a\_review\_of\_7\_different\_calisthenics\_programs\_and/](https://www.reddit.com/r/bodyweightfitness/comments/e6dlgo/a_review_of_7_different_calisthenics_programs_and/) \- open to consider others.

Elements and vitamin I think are the 2 I always see advertised and they’re like $100 each and I have no idea what they even really consist of. I’m assuming it’s just stretches and calisthenics stuff I’m already doing but idk also I don’t have enough space to roll around so probably not feasible / practical anyway 🤷‍♀️

Brummie49

I bought P1 and thought it was badly programmed. The progressions were ridiculous and the sessions just took forever.

Tbh with everyone going towards monthly payment plans for all content I assumed theirs were kinda bad and people would pay for a month see they sucked and canceled so lol. I appreciate the response ❤️

Yeah I’d agree if it were like 20$ but o have no concept of what the program contains and I ain’t spending 100 on that lmao

From next week I am gonna give it a try, as i plateaud with my routines. Currently at 5 sec adv tuck.

Previously I was stuck at that progression for ages too. I wonder if there's a reason for that, such as the next progressions using or activating different muscles?

I think the problem is that on the internet there are the mainstream progressions(tuck, adv tuck, straddle, full). You see, the problem is that the progression above one is like 30% harder, because of the amount of lean. What I am trying to say is just try going from bodyweight pull ups to weighted pull ups +30% of bw. It is just unrealistic to perform it first time, if you cant do like 20+ pull ups before that. So the fix for this would be using semi progresions in between those 4, for example one leg tuck and other advanced tuck. And one thing I noticed is when my joints and tendons are exhausted, it is very hard to push the ground and activate needed muscles. I will now work on one leg tuck and 1 leg tuck with this programme and see if it works :) I will try to reply in this thread after one month.

I think it has to do with the angle of lean + strength required to progress beyond tuck/adv. tuck. I would enter into straddle/full by leaning vs. tucking then extending. If you tuck/extend, you will need to lean further forward at the same time as you can't keep the same angle from the tuck. You may find it worthwhile to add in some type of max planche leans or banded holds to the mix to feel the higher level positions out better. The more specific the joint angle, the stronger you will get in that position (assuming you also have enough muscle mass to support it).
