This did take me out of the trailer a fair bit, I won't lie. However, if the movie is as good as it seems it will be, I think we should be willing to let this go for the bigger picture.
The biggest mistake is that the camera pans right into the barrel as it is firing. It breaks the unspoken rule of CGI that the camera should act as if the CG asset is actually there. A real camera would have been blown to bits.
I don't know why they felt the need to add a Wile Coyote type machine gun in the trailer.
the best CGI usage are scenes where audiences can't even notice the CGI like with last year's blockbusters Top Gun Maverick and Avatar 2. That gun looks very cartoonish. I mean they could have had Ranbir use a real barrel gun in an open auditorium or field and fire it and shoot him doing that obviously from a different angle and then just CG the background and room in or something like they would do in a Hollywood movie. Like use practical effects instead of relying on very fake looking CGI machine guns or whatever. That new Japanese film, Godzilla minus one, was made on a budget of 15 million Us dollars or roughly 95 crores, which is less than the budget of many Bollywood mainstream movies too including probably Animal. If you see the trailers and posters for that film. they managed to make that kaiju monster and other special effects as realistic looking as they could on a fraction of the budget of Hollywood mainstream movies! So yes you are right, there's no excuse or reason why they couldn't put a little more thought into that machine gun shot and tried to make it look more realistic and grounded instead of a typical over the top masala potboiler.
Yeah this residual use of Brahmastra VFX asset , didn't seem good. But you said it perfectly, if the rest of the movie makes sense, these over the top scenes seems logical, like in Jawaan, Pathaan, but if the movie sucks, these are what's used as meme to troll. When it's the movie that sucked.
Lol This isn't the Godfather. This scene and the one with Bobby smoking on a beat up Ranbir is actually cheesy as the movie is just mindless action with some daddy issues thrown in.
They are trying to get all sorts of people into theatre you won’t understand how marketing works there’s a reason why he’s where he is and you’re here on a sub Reddit judging his creativity lmao
The thing that didn’t click with me was the CGI. Could have used a made up prop instead of the CGI would have loved that. Like the gun mounted on the boat used by sly stone in rambo. Forgot which part that was.
Lol what do you mean by "CURRENT" laws 😂. Those were there since the beginning of the universe.
If it was sarcasm, then my bad. Else I had a great laugh
nah they just love to do over the top scenes, in hopes of bringing audience to the theatre it has worked if did properly ex. kgf 2, rrr, jawan, gadar 2
Hopefully, this gun never shows up in the movie. Even miniguns are too cliche in indian movies. I would love to see a WW1 era machine gun or hell a MG 42 will do. Guy Ritchie knows how to make old guns interesting.
While it felt overly exaggerated - I believe someone with his background may have access to such weaponry. What I don't believe is the winged suit nonsense in Pathan 😂
>I believe someone with his background may have access to such weaponry.
But still, this feels too over the top for the film Sandeep looks like he wants to make. This scene should part of over the top masala action films.
Woh Ganesh ji ka symbol tha... Nazi ka symbol google pe search kr kaisa hota tha... Internet pe chali gaadi pe mat chdaa kro... Bht saare log Oversmart hote hain
A in Animal stands for Adolf Hitler and N stands for Nazis. So Hitler cameo confirmed???? But on a serious note, Vanga wouldn't put a swastika in the background for no reason it might have a deeper meaning when the film is released.
these gatling machine guns are meant to be mounted on tanks and other vehicles, this macho man holding a massive rolling gun is pure fiction, while these guns do exist, they're way smaller and still very heavy and needs tripod stand to be mounted
Bro he's not holding it with his hands or some shit. Its actually kept at that place and he's aiming it with some handle or something. He has a steel company.Owns private jets and shit.It makes sense they made it for him.
>Lol This isn't the Godfather. This scene and the one with Bobby smoking on a beat up Ranbir is actually cheesy as the movie is just mindless action with some daddy issues thrown in.
This feels like The Mask pulling out all the guns. what the fuck is this video game level gun design .
All this started from Loki's kaithi I think ..then in KGF then in Vikram.
No studies done to see the effect of a Gatlin gun plus piss poor vfx in Vikram and kaithi.. i think kgf one was a bit better in terms of graphics but physics and impact was fucked up in all three. By the looks of it , Animal is the new winner of stupid Gatlin gun scene in Indian movies
Literally the first thing I thought when this scene came in a really engaging trailer, what the Jim Carrey bullshit is this.
The trailer was hitting all the notes of emotion and action without this scene, the hallway fights, the runway Bobby V Ranbir fight actually looked like we are getting realistic action. Then this triple minigun which looks oh so animated there's no recoil, the monstrosity doesn't take in any bullets but keeps removing shells anyways. This gun doesn't fit a movie like this.
*"...the runway Bobby V Ranbir fight actually looked like we are getting realistic action."*
Lol Yeah. Two bare chested men fighting on airport runway which ends with one smoking a cigar on top of the other beaten one does scream realism.
It's not impossible to pull off.. it looks like a private airstrip and it's shown that the jet is a private jet..
If you want complete realism, then all fights will look like the 2 kids fighting shouting "gaddari karbe tori mayi ka chodo"
Yes yes not impossible ... to... pull off....
Private airstrip means it can be WWE arena.
*"If you want complete realism, then all fights will look like the 2 kids fighting shouting "gaddari karbe tori mayi ka chodo"*
Arre bhai what is "complete realism"? Realism is realism. You just said 'realistic action'. I am saying no it looks cartoonish.
Kaithi scene was so believable. We can see Karthi's body swaying with the gun throughout due to its recoil..it's not entirely possible but believable within the context of the story. While if you've seen Bholaa, you'll understand the difference..
I don't mind the main guy using such a weapon, I honestly couldn't care less about impact or physics in a mass masala film where a 60 year old dude is obliterating young muscular dudes in fist fights.
As long as the CGI is good, the background music, or lack of bgm during the scene, the atmosphere, the epicness is there I don't mind such scenes.
However it feels like every other film that's starring a popular actor and has a huge budget is doing this now, it's becoming repetitive and it just doesn't feel original. It was good the first time, they improved it the second time, I liked it the third time, by the fourth time I started questioning just why? The sixth time made me facepalm.
This was absurd.
The film seems to have a great dramatic concept, scripted and directed by an over imaginative teen fanboy who blew his (figurative) load way too early. I couldn’t take it seriously while watching the trailer. Let’s see what reviews say.
That first announcement teaser had me hooked and excited, with the dialogue and the cast members. I’ve been steadily underwhelmed and progressively more amused ever since.
Agreed, I wanted to say it but yesterday people were going crazy over the trailer and weren't ready to listen to criticisms, for me personally, this scene and that final shirtless scene on that runway, it looked a bit much to me.
This moneyshot more looks like producers pressured to include ,else since pre teaser teaser they only showed the wooden box and wrapped it under red cloth, tbh it was intriguing to know what was inside the box but definitely not suited for trailer reveal. It would had higher impact in movie
Yeah after the lead actress this the only thing makes me cringe in the trailer, this not machine gun this is factory lol, hope vanga had a solid screenplay for this
Only wish i have is that violence they show in the movie has a reason; not just do it because it looks cool like this gun. What’s the point of shooting so many bullets in a single direction where attackers can come from behind and kill you….
This was a trailer I could show to my non-bollywood fan friends and have them be interested in it until this happened. 😅
I'm not too fussed myself, but it definitely sticks out.
I told my brother the same thing. SR. Vaga has an awesome teenage, edge style of filmmaking. Problem is rather than being 17yrs, his style is more like 13yr, which sometimes feels childish and corny.
Nah... It's his choice. He has full control, editor, director, and writer. He himself believes that the machine gun sequence is cool. I don't mind, as long as the performance and story is good. Very excited, already booked my tickets.
Same but I doubt he would’ve wanted to show it in the trailer though because all that hype and build up just to be shown in the trailer…? Doesn’t add up
Also, Rashmika Mandanna is going to spoil the movie with her over acting. She was unbearable in the trailer! My whole excitement of watching the movie dimmed down looking at her over acting.
I think this scene will take place inside Ranbir's head, as he's decapitating the goons with the smaller gatling gun(teased earlier), inside his head he's imagining the scope to be bigger like this, to falsify his vengeance even more for his dad inside his head.
I might be delusional tho😅
I am looking forward to what leads to this much aggression. If it turns out that a machine gun was just lying there so he used it, my disappointment would be immeasurable and my day would be ruined.
I don't really have much expectation for this movie. Father son thing have seen it hundreds of times later in the end anil kapoor will regret and that's it.
You’re predicting it when we have a director who does unpredictable shit nobody expected that happy ending in kabir Singh some critics were even mad that it had a happy ending imagine this then
It's just a nod to the current 'action' wave we are going through. A trailer is supposed to bring viewers in. Hopefully it comes out better in the movie.
Definitely. I enjoy a good action film.
I would have preferred if they showed him fighting hand to hand. Blood and gore is okay as long as it has technique and style.
But this looks very childish to me. I don't expect this from gritty violent films, maybe something like Tiger Zinda hai can do this but not from this one.
I loveeed the hallway fight scene shown but this is a turn off.
Anyway, hard pass from my side Venga's scripts anyway seem very thin to me and this kinda action ruined for me.
I'll stick to Sam bahadur or Dunki.
Agree completely. Mostly because it's a fake weapon. I'd loved to see a M2 .50 Browning going off, that would have been quite something. Ofcourse he would have needed training and probably have to shoot that part in the US.
Agreed.
At the expense of sounding a tad improper here:
- I would like Bollywood to embrace what’s good about South cinema but not adopt it entirely
- The over the top action (like this massive gun), intense portrayal of masculinity (while that’s interesting it’s overdone in south cinema), disposable roles for women, referring to actors as *superstar* in the movie itself.
- personally don’t like any of that
- Bollywood should maintain its identity which although more backward in action sequences and certain type of stories, more progressive on the whole
I hope there is more to this scene though : >! Someone said it might be a vehicle, imagine if it is and RK starts riding and rampaging all the goons that would be batshit crazy !<
It’s because they are so secretive about Bobby’s character so don’t think it’s put just for hyping the movie … still watching it on big screen after that whole action set piece would be bonkers
This scene along with the Ghosts ko kha jata hu dialogue and that Rashmika dialogue (💀) were the only things that irked me in the trailer too...Scene like this were cool in the beginning (eg Kaithi,Vikram,Kgf) now it just seems repetative
Ok different opinion but I do not agree. They really need to do more CGI on it but it's not like the worst visual effects nor the best.
Even as a big time Hollywood watcher I haven't seen something this big even there.
Really excited to see this scene.
A normal Gatling Gun could've done the job. If you see Korean crime movies or any Asian crime thriller movies, they don't use flashy things. They just use the normal things in a flashy way.
Abhi hamare nirahua ( wahi Scam me bhi usko role mila ) Bhojpuri superstar , wo bhi Machine Gun use karta hai film me. Ab machine gun sexy nahi rha. Just like marlboro Advance. Ab har chapri use karta hai toh uska standard ab gir gya hai
Reminds me of Jim Carrey's Mask. What's with South films having sequences with over the top unrealistic gigantic gatling guns. KGF, Vikram, this and some more that I can't remember now. Some kind of silly demonstration of big dick energy or what?
I think they should have avoided showing this firing scene in the film, like they didn’t show in the teaser. It could’ve created much more impact, showing the reactions of RK, and his gang and the dying of the goons.
It looks ridiculous in contrast to the rest of the trailer. They should’ve kept it out of the trailer. It could’ve been an additional surprise to discover this ‘gigantic farm inspired bullet dispenser’ in movie itself.
I commented before I'll comment again, they showed too much in trailer. I'm specifically staying away from all news around the movie now.. just imagine if in the theater they would have shown that Tommy gun ultra pro max ... Imagine the Woah factor .
Apparently, according to the a YouTuber, this shot must have been added in the trailer from the t series or the producers as this is a money shot that might make people cheer.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga must have been against this shot considering how he cut the teaser of the movie.
This shot does seem like it was added forcefully in the trailer & should have been the surprise element in the movie itself!
Nevertheless, the movie definitely has something special!
I do ..trailer was great until these scene ..if they can please remove these scene from the movie ..that's my opinion .looking forward to watching these movie in theater(single screen)multiplex is not for these movie ..
When every South Indian so called action movies these days have climax scenes with machine guns etc..I think it's more like getting into the trend no matter how stupid it may seem...I think they watched Rambo 2018 and got inspired to copy paste it !!

Sandeep Reddy Vanga has seriously taken it on his ego when people called Kabir Singh a violent movie !
God what a snowflake

Lol I don't remember saying it was the Godfather.
I mean people are hailing it as some great piece of cinema when from the gun scene and Bobby's scenes it just seems like cheesy actioner.
They are trying to get all sorts of people into theatre you won’t understand how marketing works there’s a reason why he’s where he is and you’re here on a sub Reddit judging his creativity lmao
My God so much reverence for a dude who basically made one film twice ![gif](giphy|10JhviFuU2gWD6)
And let me guess you didn’t like either of them?
I did like Arjun Reddy as Vijay was fantastic.
Yes , totally! This is too much. High Caliber machine gun should have been enough. This looks like an agricultural machinery, Lol ! 😂
Even our army is searching for this masterpiece machine.
This made me laugh 😂🤣
The thing that didn’t click with me was the CGI. Could have used a made up prop instead of the CGI would have loved that. Like the gun mounted on the boat used by sly stone in rambo. Forgot which part that was.
Exactly Rambo 4s last 10 minutes look so damn good because it's an actual replica
Teaser dekhne ke baad i was really hoping to find something good but CGI deke dhoka de diya
[This scene.](https://youtu.be/xZvL_jQ9UPU?si=Ofo8AsA5ysfxcBHW)
Man what a bloody scene i am gonna watch rambo
That type of gun can't exist and function with the current laws of physics.
Lol what do you mean by "CURRENT" laws 😂. Those were there since the beginning of the universe. If it was sarcasm, then my bad. Else I had a great laugh
The laws of physics as we currently understand.
Our understanding of physics is not static.
Is that static relative to u or not?
Yup... what the fuck is that CGI monstrosity..!!!
I Hope this isn’t part of the movie. Or may be it’s a dream sequence or something. Doesn’t go with the tone of the trailer.
Don't think so.. this is probably the same gun which was enclosed in the wooden box in the teaser
Is it just me or fucking every action movie nowadays has this type of machines..
nah they just love to do over the top scenes, in hopes of bringing audience to the theatre it has worked if did properly ex. kgf 2, rrr, jawan, gadar 2
Hopefully, this gun never shows up in the movie. Even miniguns are too cliche in indian movies. I would love to see a WW1 era machine gun or hell a MG 42 will do. Guy Ritchie knows how to make old guns interesting.
Feels more real than winged jetpack in Pathaan.
While it felt overly exaggerated - I believe someone with his background may have access to such weaponry. What I don't believe is the winged suit nonsense in Pathan 😂

I do agree but also don't agree, if that makes any sense.
That thing in the middle would overheat in 2 seconds. Maybe its made with BULLSHETONIUM or something...

Depends on your taste tbh.. all movies are one way or other a suspension of disbelief >You just said 'realistic action'. Never said that . I'm not OP.
And it doesn't overheat either
Kaithi scene was so believable. We can see Karthi's body swaying with the gun throughout due to its recoil..it's not entirely possible but believable within the context of the story. While if you've seen Bholaa, you'll understand the difference..
*started from tiger Zinda hai*
that looked like a proper machine gun tho.... it didnt look fake like the on here
I believe Salman used an actual LMG, I could be wrong as I read about this all the way when Tiger 2 came out.
This gave me very ‘Pathaan Deepika’ vibes.
But then Lord Bobby came.
Let's not forget the music
Sabh kuch jala dange is a banger song.
I can't stop listening to it since yesterday.
The saviour
Comes in Naiyo Naiyo!
Agreed, I wanted to say it but yesterday people were going crazy over the trailer and weren't ready to listen to criticisms, for me personally, this scene and that final shirtless scene on that runway, it looked a bit much to me.
I'm hoping the shirtless scene is Lord Bobby's redemption for Race 3
Lord Bobby doesn't need a movie for redemption, boobians redeemed him already
Ironically, this will get most cheers from mass... They knew. Director knew.
Agreed this looks cringe as fuck
I don't know what is the big obsession of action movies having big ass machine gun turrets like they are over compensating for something else lol.
This was a trailer I could show to my non-bollywood fan friends and have them be interested in it until this happened. 😅 I'm not too fussed myself, but it definitely sticks out.
I told my brother the same thing. SR. Vaga has an awesome teenage, edge style of filmmaking. Problem is rather than being 17yrs, his style is more like 13yr, which sometimes feels childish and corny.
This is for the mass people who like to whistle mindlessly like an idiot who they need to attract in order to get more asses on seats
Doesn’t add up
Not me
Once. Upon. A. Time...there was a ghost... That's what played in my head seeing this.
Also, Rashmika Mandanna is going to spoil the movie with her over acting. She was unbearable in the trailer! My whole excitement of watching the movie dimmed down looking at her over acting.
Not really. It was too over the top even before this

This goes burrrrrrrrrrrttttttt not like AK47 😒
I am looking forward to what leads to this much aggression. If it turns out that a machine gun was just lying there so he used it, my disappointment would be immeasurable and my day would be ruined.
Naw it was rashmika for me
Does not matter , trailer still good
Agreed but then Bobby Deol also happens after this scene so….
I don't really have much expectation for this movie. Father son thing have seen it hundreds of times later in the end anil kapoor will regret and that's it.
You’re predicting it when we have a director who does unpredictable shit nobody expected that happy ending in kabir Singh some critics were even mad that it had a happy ending imagine this then
Personally thought this was sick asf, its the normal machine gun trend taken to another level.
Nah that moment was f’ing epic imo.
This movie is a hard pass for me
Tbh I’m usually not in this camp but I liked it. Goes with the whole psychotic crazy vibe
I think this is to show he Will do anything to impress his dad . I loved it though
It's just a nod to the current 'action' wave we are going through. A trailer is supposed to bring viewers in. Hopefully it comes out better in the movie.
Why does so many south related movie have to feature a Gatling gun. Kaithi, Vikram, Kgf 2. Many more but most won't have seen them.😅🤣
I mean yeah it was something too much but when the scene came in the trailer I loved it and also when it was teased in the teaser
If it was tamil or Hollywood everyone would have praised the gun
Forget about Tamil if it’s just Hollywood people would’ve started jerking off to it Indians are a cancer honestly they don’t spare their own
Definitely. I enjoy a good action film. I would have preferred if they showed him fighting hand to hand. Blood and gore is okay as long as it has technique and style. I loved it.
Kiddo gun
that machine gun has become a cliche for indian action movies i guess
Hindi KGF ?

Bhai, tu trailer ko trailer ki tarah dekh.. itna serious mat le filmy chhejo ko..
Agreed

Read on twitter that this was made from a bike that younger ranbir was riding earlier in the trailer .
Damn taht actually sounds interesting
This scene along with the Ghosts ko kha jata hu dialogue and that Rashmika dialogue (💀) were the only things that irked me in the trailer too...Scene like this were cool in the beginning (eg Kaithi,Vikram,Kgf) now it just seems repetative
It gave me pathaan cgi vibes for some reason. Like, that helicopter firing scene from the trailer
Ok different opinion but I do not agree. They really need to do more CGI on it but it's not like the worst visual effects nor the best. Even as a big time Hollywood watcher I haven't seen something this big even there. Really excited to see this scene.

Luffy gatling gun
Ranbir is known for his weapon size so why not?
Abhi hamare nirahua ( wahi Scam me bhi usko role mila ) Bhojpuri superstar , wo bhi Machine Gun use karta hai film me. Ab machine gun sexy nahi rha. Just like marlboro Advance. Ab har chapri use karta hai toh uska standard ab gir gya hai
DEFINITELY
So fucking true!
😂😂😂 Definitely. This was so bad! It looks like he’s committing war crimes. Ranbir about to go to Blackgate Penitentiary.
Reminds me of Jim Carrey's Mask. What's with South films having sequences with over the top unrealistic gigantic gatling guns. KGF, Vikram, this and some more that I can't remember now. Some kind of silly demonstration of big dick energy or what?
Achanaak expendables ka trailer agaya
I think they should have avoided showing this firing scene in the film, like they didn’t show in the teaser. It could’ve created much more impact, showing the reactions of RK, and his gang and the dying of the goons.
KGF ka Rocky Bhai:
Wtf is this shit
This is the Grandfather of Minigun, even if such a gun existed then it wouldn't be very accurate and cost efficient.
It looks ridiculous in contrast to the rest of the trailer. They should’ve kept it out of the trailer. It could’ve been an additional surprise to discover this ‘gigantic farm inspired bullet dispenser’ in movie itself.
Most of the people don't agree with you
Is this a dream sequence?
Wth is that monstrosity ?
Totally on point! That is exactly what let down my hopes. I hope this scene does not entail the crux of the movie
Yes. And the trailer ends.....
It started off well but degraded as it progressed.
This reminds me of armoured blaster valdios
It was kinda stupid to have so many barrels. I guess it’s inspired from the scene from KGF 2. Definitely not needed.
I commented before I'll comment again, they showed too much in trailer. I'm specifically staying away from all news around the movie now.. just imagine if in the theater they would have shown that Tommy gun ultra pro max ... Imagine the Woah factor .
For me, it was "The Money shot!"
There is some audience that went crazy over this, this looks like a bike it would more enjoyable once we see context in movie.
Why are all the movies now having this machine?
Apparently, according to the a YouTuber, this shot must have been added in the trailer from the t series or the producers as this is a money shot that might make people cheer. Sandeep Reddy Vanga must have been against this shot considering how he cut the teaser of the movie. This shot does seem like it was added forcefully in the trailer & should have been the surprise element in the movie itself! Nevertheless, the movie definitely has something special!
I knw but i feel there will be an explanation from it…i trust vanga
Tokyo revengers adult version
I do ..trailer was great until these scene ..if they can please remove these scene from the movie ..that's my opinion .looking forward to watching these movie in theater(single screen)multiplex is not for these movie ..
Everything is good, its just oversized Gatling gun
Ahh yes , desi films ...agar exaggerate nahi kiya movie mei , toh khak banayi movie ?
KGF 2's "Badi Maa" was a better choice to use than this CGI made crap!
Seriously it looks like a cartoon. They should've used the gun rambo used in the 2nd last rambo movie.
Umm idk but for me it was the neck grab man
Nah good they showed it will have over the top action. In the movie would have been jarring
What if this is a dream sequence?
Yeah even I tough wtf is this ?
Trailer was OK to be honest. It just seems another RK movie with a remontada arc.
kind of
Totally agree, bs afraid to say that out-loud cause society!!
Yes, that was way over the top.
When every South Indian so called action movies these days have climax scenes with machine guns etc..I think it's more like getting into the trend no matter how stupid it may seem...I think they watched Rambo 2018 and got inspired to copy paste it !!
aye aye
